Chapter 521

Chapter 521

Jasper was still inside the woman, his eyes were glazed but fixed on Byron as he snapped a picture of his face with a phone.
Reacting on impulse, he lunged for the phone.
Byron slapped his face lightly, a hint of insult in his voice. “Jasper, I texted Charlotte. She’s on her way. Imagine her seeing you like this. Will she ever look at you the same?”
"No, please."

"Please, man, you can't do this."

Jasper had never shown such vulnerability to Byron, fear and dread written all over his face.

"Boss, you're my boss. I'll do anything, but please don't let Charlotte see me like this!"
The mere thought of Charlotte’s disgust tore through Jasper like a knife.
Jasper was on the brink of kneeling before Byron, shocked by Byron's ruthless demeanor.

Byron was out for blood.

He sneered, "I believe in an eye for an eye. You tried to off me before, now you pay the price. This is what you get."

With a final kick, Byron pushed Jasper away, his words cutting deep."Maybe seeing Charlotte will get you going again. Can't wait to see your face then."

As he left, Byron told Shade, “If he hesitates, give him the meds.”
"Got it."

Desperation filled Jasper's gaze.

Byron was like a devil in the flesh.

But Jasper caused the lab explosion; he wasn't innocent either.

Under the drug's influence, Jasper's grip on reality slipped, his condition worsening.

When Charlotte received the photo, she had just stepped out of the shower, her hair still damp. The image before her left her speechless.

She hurriedly changed into clothes and dashed out. Frederick emerged from the study and followed her. Just as she reached the car, he caught her hand and whispered, “I’ll drive. You take the passenger seat.”
As they pulled away, Charlotte finally shared Jasper's whereabouts with a sigh, "Something's up with Jasper."

Frederick eased off the gas.

“Frederick, step on it. I can’t bear anything happening to Jasper.”
Jasper looked unwell in the photo, stirring concern in Charlotte.
They soon pulled up at the club. Byron and Shade were gone, but sounds of pleasure echoed from the private room.

The scene inside was easy to imagine.

Charlotte gripped the door handle, hesitating before entering.
Frederick held her hand, offering softly, “Wait here. I’ll bring him out, okay?”
His tone was calm and comforting.

Charlotte simply nodded.

Her gaze fell, hiding the worry in her eyes.

She debated whether to involve Taylor.

Once Charlotte moved away, Frederick pushed open the door to the private room. The air was thick with desire, bodies intertwined.
Jasper remained lost in his actions, unresponsive to Frederick's arrival, his eyes empty, as if devoid of soul.

He roughly handled the woman's breasts, her cries and pleas falling on deaf ears, interpreted by Jasper as encouragement.

Frederick's eyes swept over the women icily, "Leave now, or I'll call the cops."

Frederick's intimidating aura sent the women scurrying, hastily dressing and fleeing.

Louis stood outside, jotting down details and securing the club.

This was their closest shot at catching Byron. There had to be clues here that could lead them to him; his escape couldn't have been flawless.

Even after the women cleared out, Jasper couldn’t control his desires. He continued pleasuring himself. Frederick’s initial plan had been to call an ambulance, but then he overheard Jasper murmuring Charlotte’s name.
Frederick's expression darkened, almost dripping with anger.

"Charlotte, Charlotte..."

Grabbing Jasper's head, Frederick guided him to the bathroom, turning on the shower. Cold water cascaded over Jasper's head.

"Jasper, are you with me now?"

Jasper's gaze was unfocused, his feeble struggles easily subdued by Frederick as water filled his mouth and nose, rousing him slightly.

Coughing, he slowly opened his eyes to find Frederick in front of him, dressed in a suit.

Feeling ashamed, Jasper weakly protested, “Let me go, Frederick, please.”
As Jasper regained consciousness, Frederick let go, shaking his head, "Don't chase after what's not yours."

Understanding whom Frederick meant, Jasper asked hoarsely, "Did she see me like this?"

"No," Frederick assured him.

Jasper felt a wave of relief.

After helping Jasper dress, Frederick escorted him to the hospital.
Exhausted, Jasper received fluids while the doctor conducted tests, revealing a high level of sedatives in his system, blurring reality and potentially harming his health.

Charlotte eventually informed Taylor.

Taylor rushed to the hospital with Gavin. Seeing Jasper asleep in the bed, her eyes filled with pity.
Not having seen Jasper in ages, it seemed as if he had vanished.

Tears welled up as she observed his pale, tormented state.
Approaching her, Charlotte embraced Taylor gently, "Taylor, everything will be okay. The doctor is taking care of Jasper."

Gritting her teeth, Taylor said, "He always keeps everything to himself, never sharing with me. I really want to know what happened."

Charlotte consoled her, "It was Byron. But I haven't seen him either, so I'm not sure why he did this."

She was unaware of the feud between Byron and Jasper.

Charlotte dialed the number from the recent message on her phone. After two rings, a voice answered, "Charlotte?"

Byron's voice sounded calm.

Charlotte held her breath, stepping to the end of the corridor, feeling the chill on her face. She stayed silent for a while, and Byron remained on the line, seemingly enjoying her silence. For the first time, Charlotte challenged Byron, "What's your end game?"
