Chapter 319 The Idiot Driving Up The Price Was Hazel
Brandon's expression didn't waver. "After the wedding, I won't interfere with your life. Just come home once a month. Everything else—do whatever you want."

The corner of Caspian's mouth lifted in something that wasn't quite a smile.

So even if he fooled around with other women, it wouldn't matter.

Brandon really was devoted—willing to come up with this kind of deal just to make his wife happy.

Anyone else sitting here today would've signed without hesitation.

But Caspian wasn't anyone else.

He had zero interest in this agreement.

Caspian casually tossed the contract into the trash. "If that's all you came for, see yourself out. I won't walk you down."

Brandon frowned. "This deal doesn't hurt you in any way."
So many people would kill for his fortune, yet Caspian dismissed it without a second thought.

Did he truly understand what he was turning down?

Caspian let out a mocking laugh.

"Don't pull this kind of stunt again. My girlfriend won't be happy if she sees it, and if she's not happy, I'm not happy. And if I'm not happy, no one else is going to be happy either. So save yourself the trouble and drop it."

It's just money. Who doesn't have that?

Caspian's tone was firm, and Brandon didn't bother pushing further—he knew when to quit.

After he left, Stefan came in.

Stefan: "Caspian, Miss Windsor went to the auction house."

Skyborne Auction House was one of Caspian's properties. The moment Victoria walked in, someone reported it to him.

Caspian's hand paused mid-flip through his documents.

The auction house.

What was she doing there?

Caspian: "Whatever she likes, give it to her directly."

Stefan: "Got it."

Stefan turned and spotted the documents in the trash. He picked them up and his eyes widened. "A property inheritance agreement? Brandon wants to give you his entire estate?"

Caspian: "Shred it."

Stefan glanced at the figures—Brandon's estate was no small sum.

And Caspian had just tossed it without batting an eye.

Miss Windsor's influence really was something else.

Anyone trying to break up his OTP would be barred from entry from now on—Brandon included.

Stefan fed the documents into the shredder until they were nothing but confetti.

---

Skyborne Auction House.

Hazel stood at the entrance. "You're sure that bitch is in there?"

Bodyguard: "Yes, Miss. I saw her go in with my own eyes."

A flash of malice flickered in Hazel's eyes. "Victoria, that bitch, isn't getting away with anything! You're all coming in with me. Whatever she bids on, we're taking it from her!"

Bodyguard: "Yes, Miss."

---

The auction began. Victoria was in a private box on the second floor.

Victoria had no interest in the antique vases or gemstones—she didn't raise her paddle once.

Hazel kept her eyes locked on Victoria's box.

What was the point of coming to an auction if that bitch wasn't going to bid on anything?

Just as Hazel's patience was about to run out, Victoria finally stirred.

Victoria had come here for one reason: she'd heard that Royal Poinciana wood was being auctioned.

The auctioneer brought out an unremarkable piece of wood.

"Our next item is a rare find—Royal Poinciana wood. Starting bid: five hundred thousand."

The guests on the first floor stared at the wood and immediately started complaining.

"Did they mess up? Why are they bringing out a piece of scrap wood?"

"Who's gonna pay half a million for a chunk of firewood? Is this a joke?"

"Are they seriously out of good items?"

"Only an idiot would bid on that."

Suddenly, a cool, clear voice rang out from the second floor.

"Six hundred thousand."

The floor went silent for a beat—then erupted.

"No way. There's actually some idiot willing to pay six hundred grand for a piece of wood?"

"Which spoiled rich girl is throwing money away like that?"

"I should've chopped down the tree in my backyard and put it up for auction."

Victoria called out her bid of six hundred thousand, and no one else raised their paddle.

The auctioneer: "Six hundred thousand once, six hundred thousand twice, six hundred thousand—"

Before he could finish, another female voice cut in.

"Seven hundred thousand."

Victoria's expression shifted slightly. Royal Poinciana was rare—it had protective properties and warded off pests. Very few people knew about it.

She'd come hoping to snag it at a bargain and turn it into a pair of cufflinks for Caspian's birthday.

She hadn't expected to run into someone else who knew its value.

Victoria: "Eight hundred thousand."

The other voice: "Nine hundred thousand."

Victoria: "One million."

The other voice: "One million one hundred thousand."

Victoria: "One million five hundred thousand."

"Two million."

Victoria: "Three million."

"Four million."

Victoria frowned. "Ten million."

That was her limit.

The Royal Poinciana was worth ten million at most. Going higher wasn't worth it.

Hazel bit her lip. She'd only brought ten million with her—but if she stopped now, Victoria would get what she wanted.

No way!

Hazel's mind was consumed with one thought: she couldn't let Victoria win. She blurted out, "Eleven million."

The room erupted in shock.

Eleven million for a piece of wood? Was she insane?

Even the auctioneer was stunned. He'd thought ten million was the ceiling—he never imagined someone would go to eleven.

Everyone stared up at the second floor, dying to know who would pay over ten million for a piece of wood.

Victoria lifted her gaze toward the direction of her competitor.

Seeing Victoria fall silent, Hazel finally felt the tightness in her chest ease.

Hmph! That bitch thought she could compete with her? She should take a good look in the mirror first!

Hazel stood up triumphantly and walked out of her box, stopping right in front of Victoria.

"Victoria, didn't expect it to be me, did you?"

A smug smile tugged at Hazel's lips.

As long as she could one-up that little bitch Victoria, she was happy.

She practically skipped over to Victoria, her tone dripping with arrogance. "I heard you wanted to steal my man. Let's see what you've got to compete with me this time."

Victoria glanced at the newcomer.

So the idiot driving up the price was Hazel.

That explained everything.
