Chapter 81 Chapter 81 Go Naked Or Go Naked
Gabriel’s POV
After we filed in from the queue, the door leading into the yard was locked, and we were all in the prison building.
Not knowing where the mess hall was or what the mess hall was all about, I knew I must be there just as the system blared—or else? I didn’t want any problem for myself.
I followed behind some prisoners who seemed not to have my time towards something that looked like a large room.
All prisoners were going inside the room. They were all grabbing their seats. Each of them with their crew sat together.
Stepping through the door to this large room, I saw that the mess hall was indeed a dining hall. It was a place all prisoners must gather in large numbers to eat.
Hence, there were many wooden tables and benches in this room. One table had two benches by its sides, and each table was filled with prisoners, except one table at the last edge, which had no one sitting on it.
I lowered my head, my heart racing from what Gomelo told me earlier. I knew since I stepped through the door, he was watching me. Though I didn’t know which part of the angles in the mess hall he was sitting, I knew he was following me with his eyes.
In this manner, as I was nearing the lonely table and bench, I looked to the side, and my eyes shrunk at Luke. He was not smiling at me. He was frowning and sitting with another crew, acting as though they had gotten along quickly.
Immediately, I shot my eyes to the ground and walked slowly to the lonely table and bench.
When I sat down, the bell rang.
“Your food will be served in one minute. Eat and go to the bath hall. None of you should act funny!” The system voice warned.
Just then, after the jailer served each of us completely, while I held the spoon and was about to put the spoon filled with watery beans in my mouth—
“Boom!” A fervent hand slapped on the table I sat at.
Shocked, my spoon filled with beans poured on my face.
Looking up, I saw that it was Gomelo. My heart raced immediately.
“What did I tell you to do when coming here?!” His voice was loud. His posture was threatening. He leaned close to me, and I perceived his stinking body.
“I… I…” I stammered, and just then, he burst into a loud, wicked laugh.
He raised his muscular arms and turned to others in the mess hall.
“Everyone!” he spoke loudly.
“This maggot here stammers!” They all burst into an episode of mocking laughter at me.
“Boom!” He slapped his hand on the table once more.
“Go naked right now!” His voice was firm.
Everyone looked at me now. They wanted to see if I would obey Gomelo or if I would disobey.
With their persistent stares, I easily fathomed that if I disobeyed Gomelo at this instance, it would end in something I would live the rest of my life here to regret.
“Do it!” He yelled at me suddenly. His spit spat on my face, and my heart rang rapidly as I experienced a sudden shock wave go through my body.
I rose to my feet instantly.
I took in a deep breath and breathed out.
My eyes were on the wall, and I took my hand to my body. I loosed one.
I took my hand to the second button and was about to loose it when Luke got up from his seat.
“Leave him alone. He is my lap dog, not yours,” Luke said to Gomelo, and I heard the, “OHHHHH!” erupt from the other prisoners.
“And who the fuck are you to challenge me?” Gomelo turned to Luke. And as such, I quickly got away from there to the wall.
I was lucky enough that Luke interfered with Gomelo, and I wouldn’t be unlucky to remain in their middle if a fight broke out between them.
Still yet, it didn’t mean that my heart stopped racing. I knew this fight was about to happen because of me. And if they were done, it could motivate another prisoner to want to start bullying me around because it was obvious now that I was the center of attention. Any prisoner could be at the top of the chain just by bullying me and defeating others who attempted to defend me.
“Seems you just got here, huh?” Luke voiced. And Gomelo burst into laughter.
“I was only gone for about six months, and this prison already has a new president?!” Luke snarled.
And just then, I saw more prisoners rise to their feet. They stood behind Luke and were ready to fight with him against Gomelo.
Seeing the number of inmates siding with Luke, Gomelo backed off.
“Well, tell him to stay out of my way. Or else?” Gomelo muttered as he left for his table with his crew.
I opened my eyes widely. No wonder Luke didn’t look bothered about anything here. This was, of course, the prison he had been in all his life, and he was at the top of the chain around here.
And that I owe him? My heart pounded even worse. I knew I was triple doomed!
