Chapter 10 Chapter Ten Making a Scene
Gabriel’s POV
As Rebecca left, I couldn't believe my eyes at who entered the restaurant. "How did she know I was here?" I asked myself, my thoughts spinning, but before I could process any answers, she was already in my face, her eyes flashing with betrayal.
"How could you?" Emmanuella scowled, her voice trembling with anger and hurt.
"Emmanuella, what are you doing—" I started, trying to make sense of the situation, but she cut me off before I could even finish the sentence.
She grabbed the glass of wine Rebecca had left behind and threw it right in my face, the cold liquid stinging my eyes. The shock hit me like a brick wall. But before I could react, Emmanuella picked up the bottle of water I’d given to Rebecca and dumped it over my head, drenching me completely.
My breath hitched as the icy water trickled down my face, soaking my suit and turning heads all around the restaurant. Everyone – doormen, waiters, even the kitchen staff peeking out – watched in stunned silence as Emmanuella continued her public meltdown.
She wasn’t done.
In a frenzy, she grabbed my shirt collar with both hands, her face inches from mine, yelling. "You think you can just walk out of my life after everything? After choosing me?!" Her grip tightened, her knuckles white from the force.
I could feel the heat of her breath against my cheek, but I didn’t fight her. What would be the point? Everyone around us had already made up their minds about what kind of man I was. To them, I was just another scumbag caught between two women.
Before I could say anything, security had already been called. In minutes, we were being escorted out of the restaurant. The humiliation burned through me as we were thrown into the cold night air, soaked and disheveled.
But did this mean I would back off from Rebecca? Not a chance.
As we hit the ground outside, I scrambled to my feet, my soaked suit clinging uncomfortably to my body. Without a word, I walked away from Emmanuella, heading straight to my car. My mind was buzzing with what had just happened, but I couldn't deal with her any longer—not tonight.
In the rearview mirror, I saw her getting into her car and following me. Her headlights blazed behind me as if she was hunting me down. She laid on the horn, leaning out of the window, her hair flying wildly. "Fk you, Gabriel! How dare you cheat on me?!"
Her screams echoed into the night, making me cringe. The honking, the shouting—it was relentless. She trailed me all the way home, like a woman possessed. I kept glancing into the mirror, half-expecting her to ram my car in her fury.
When we pulled up to the house, her behavior suddenly shifted. She wasn’t yelling anymore. She parked, got out slowly, and just stood there, frowning at me. Her expression turned from rage to something almost childlike—sulking, as if she’d lost control of her emotions and didn’t know what to do next.
But I knew one thing for sure—this nightmare would end tomorrow.
I couldn’t stand to be around her anymore. I headed straight to the guest room, slamming the door behind me. Exhausted, I collapsed onto the bed. My head was spinning with everything that had happened. How had my life come to this? I had traded Rebecca for this? Was I insane?
"Phew," I sighed, rubbing my temples. I couldn’t relax just yet—not until I made one more call.
“Lawyer David, I need to get divorced as fast as possible,” I said, my voice laced with desperation as soon as he answered the phone.
“Hello, Mr. Moretti,” David replied calmly, too calmly for my liking. “About the divorce, there's a mandatory waiting period between filing and finalizing. The courts are backed up, which is why the process takes time.”
“How long are we talking about, David? I’m done with this woman, I need this to happen fast,” I snapped, feeling the frustration build inside me.
“At least one month, Mr. Moretti,” he explained, though I barely heard the rest. A month? That was an eternity with someone as unhinged as Emmanuella.
I hung up the phone and ran my hand through my wet hair, sighing heavily. One more month of dealing with this woman… I closed my eyes, praying sleep would take me, but my mind refused to quiet down.
Then I heard it.
The soft click of the door unlocking.
Reluctantly, I opened my eyes and glanced toward the door. It was the middle of the night, and standing there, in the dim light of the room, was Emmanuella.
She wore nothing. Completely bare. Her nipples were hard, her body exposed, the small patch of hair between her legs neatly trimmed as always. Her eyes were red and swollen from crying.
“Emmanuella?” I whispered, my heart racing. What was she doing?
“All of this,” she gestured to her body, her voice cracking as tears streamed down her cheeks. “All of this beauty… for you to cheat on me with that loser you divorced to be with me?” Her voice shook with emotion as she took slow, deliberate steps toward me.
I had seen enough to know that an emotionally broken woman was dangerous, and right now, Emmanuella’s eerie calm was terrifying. The storm behind her eyes was enough to send chills down my spine.
“What are you doing, Emmanuella?” I asked, backing away as she continued to approach, her teary gaze locked onto mine.
“Fk me, Gabriel,” she demanded, her voice twisted with rage. “Taste me again, and you’ll see that bitch isn’t as sweet as me.”
She reached the bed and laid down, spreading her legs wide, inviting me to prove her point.
“C’mon, do it!” she screamed, her voice unhinged.
I backed out of the room in a panic. She wasn’t just upset—she was shattered, and this craziness only confirmed what I had already decided.
I couldn’t wait a month.
I ran out of the room and locked the door, immediately calling my lawyer again.
"Is there no way to rush this process? This woman is insane!" I blurted out as soon as he picked up.
