Chapter 30: Satisfied
The moment all their misdeeds were exposed was when she finally decided to apologize, it's only now that she feels guilty! Had I not discovered all of this, what would I have done? Would I have ended up looking like a fool? If I hadn't exposed their treachery tonight, she wouldn't be in this state! She would not have apologized until her deeds were brought to light! She would have continued to smile at me, even after betraying me, had I not uncovered their deceit!
"Don't cry! That's not what I need right now! You know and you've seen that I love Kyle and he's my boyfriend!" I said, exasperatedly brushing my hair upwards in frustration.
"I got tempted—"
"Really? Is that your reason? Is that enough to erase the pain I'm feeling?" My tears fell freely on my cheeks.
"No, right? Because no matter how you look at it, you played the third party! You don't get to give me the excuse that you were tempted when there were so many ways for you to avoid him!"
"I-I'm sorry..." She repeated.
In spite of the pain that was killing me inside, I managed a smile.
"Keep your apology because starting today, forget that we were ever close, forget that you ever knew me, because that's how I'm going to treat you now." I declared.
Her eyes met mine. They were filled with desperation and guilt, but I shook my head at myself.
Don't you dare, Yvonne. They lied, they fooled you, so show no mercy! Don't feel pity for her or for them because they were the ones who started this!
The Quinto family tried to close the video, but before they could, it ended. A new video started playing, showing the Quinto and Siran families betraying our company.
The tension in the room escalated. I wasn't surprised when even my mother became furious at what she learned.
I widened my eyes in shock when I saw my mother furiously slap Uncle Kristoff. The slap was hard enough to turn his face to the side.
I clenched my eyes shut when he just smirked at my mother. Before he could utter any words, he was sent flying with a punch from my father. That's when I intervened.
"Dad!" I shouted, trying to pull him away, but he was a large man and didn't budge.
I was only able to breathe a sigh of relief when he stopped attacking Uncle Kristoff. He then turned his angry gaze towards my mother. He shook his head, appearing disappointed, and walked away from my mom.
My mother's gaze then shifted to me. I nodded at her, signaling her to follow my dad. She hesitated but I assured her that I would be fine here.
Tres came over to me. His eyes still held anger. His jaw clenched and his teeth ground together as he stared at the two families in front of us.
The father and son were both lying on the ground. Kyle's nose was bleeding and he was holding his stomach which my father had kicked. His face was a mess from Tres' blows.
As Tito Kristoff managed to laugh amidst his predicament, a surge of anger boiled within me. All my rage seemed to rise to my head and I lost all self-restraint.
"You were entrusted by my parents, and this is how you repay us? By betraying us?!"
I was on the verge of charging towards him when someone yanked me away until we were outside the Quinto's mansion. I turned to see who it was and found it was Tres's friend.
His expression was serious, inscrutable. I jerked my hand away harshly. He had no right to interfere and should have kept his nose out of my business.
"Why did you pull me away?!" I demanded angrily.
"I think it would be better if you stay away from the chaos inside the Quinto's mansion. You might get more... hurt..." he said, a hint of concern tinging his tone.
I scoffed at him and plopped down on the concrete.
My tears fell harder. I didn't care that I was beside a man I barely knew. I clutched my chest, sobbing uncontrollably.
My tears slowed slightly when a handkerchief appeared before me. I took it and wiped my face. Damn them all!
Damn his family! Damn both families! They're traitors! Untrustworthy!
"You planned it," the man beside me, no, the man who has been watching me for a while now, said.
He knows. He has a strong intuition! And so what? I planned it to get revenge, not to end up hurt like this!
I nodded. "Yeah, you have a problem with that?" I snapped back at him.
I hated showing weakness. I despised it. I didn't want them to see my vulnerabilities. But on this day, under the bright moonlight, this man named Zach watched me in my miserable state, crying ceaselessly.
"They both fucking deserve it!" I shouted at him.
He said nothing, just allowing me to vent my frustrations. He stared at me, emotionless, listening to every word that came out of my mouth.
I gasped for breath, choking on my sobs. "How many times did I ask him if he was cheating on me? How many times! Not once did he tell the truth, worse, he fucking cheated on me with my foster sister!"
"They deserve it... They deserve the humiliation they're experiencing now! They all freaking deserve it!"
Zach, sitting beside me, still didn't say anything. I looked at him again and saw his eyes were on the sky.
"I will never forget what they've done... The pain they caused me! Both of them are liars!" I screamed again, my voice filled with bitterness.
My crying stopped when a car pulled up. Inside the car was my cousin in the driver's seat with Aunt Trina and Uncle Shawn in the back.
Without a word, I left Zach's side and left him there alone. I saw my dark reflection in the car window.
With disheveled appearance, my makeup scattered due to the tears that cascaded down my face. I proceeded to open the backseat door of the car and settled next to Aunt Trina, as Wada occupied the passenger seat.
The culmination of my meticulously devised plan had arrived. I had successfully fulfilled my role, executing each step without error or hesitation. Now, it was their turn to bear the weight of their actions, to taste the bitter sting of pain that they so justly deserved. This night marked the completion of my revenge, leaving no loose ends or unfinished business.
In the aftermath of my meticulously orchestrated scheme, a sense of vindication washed over me. The wounds inflicted upon me, the betrayals and injustices endured, were now poised to be mirrored back upon those who had brought about my suffering. The pain they had caused would no longer remain unanswered.
Let me be unequivocal in stating that my pursuit of revenge was not driven by a mere thirst for retribution. No, it was a profound act of self-preservation, an endeavor to reclaim the shattered fragments of my identity that had been callously discarded. Their actions had left me broken and battered, teetering on the precipice of despair. This night, however, would serve as the turning point, the moment when I would rise from the ashes of their treachery.
As the car engine hummed softly, a potent blend of exhaustion and determination coursed through my veins. The road ahead, stretching into the unknown, held a tapestry of uncertainties and possibilities. The night air whispered secrets, carrying the weight of my intentions, as I found solace in the embrace of the vehicle's interior.
The path that lay before me would be littered with the remnants of their transgressions, the reverberations of their choices echoing through the corridors of their lives. They would soon come face-to-face with the consequences of their actions, forced to confront the repercussions of their deeds. The pain they had so carelessly inflicted upon me would pale in comparison to the torment that awaited them.
In the midst of my overwhelming emotions, a smirk appeared on my face. While revenge is generally frowned upon, it held a different meaning for me. It was my way of finding closure, of getting back at those who had caused me pain.
This night, a disastrous birthday party, was the culmination of my meticulously planned scheme. Chaos ensued, scandals emerged, and everything unfolded exactly as I had intended. Satisfaction coursed through my veins, knowing that justice for myself abd for our company's sake was served on my terms.
It's tiring. I'm drained and almost helpless. For now, I just want to rest.
