Chapter 49 What Have I Done

Chapter 49 What Have I Done
Omniscient Narrative

Hours passed in a blur, lost in a haze of entwined limbs, sinful acts and stolen breaths.

Finally, as the night deepened, reality began to seep back in. It clawed at the edges of blissful oblivion, dragging Kai unwillingly from the trance.

Panic surged as the implications of what he had done clawed at his mind, a dark reality entwined with the thrill of unanticipated lust.

"What have I done?" he gasped, pulling away from Aries with a shudder, the taste of guilt heavy on his tongue, he couldn't believe he let this psychopath seduce him back to his bed.

"Something beautiful," Aries replied, his voice low and taunting, unraveling the gravity of the moment. "It's okay to indulge, Kai. You can't deny who you are."

"I need you to leave me alone," Kai stammered, pulse racing as shame and regret crashed heavily into him, drowning out the fleeting echoes of pleasure. "You're a dark presence in my life, and I can't allow you to destroy everything. I swear I won't!"

"How can you expect me to back down when what we shared is so potent?" Aries questioned, modernly entranced, a predator entangled with prey. "You can't comprehend the power we could wield together."

Kai surged to his feet, unsteady but resolute. "There is no 'we!' You're nothing but a twisted shadow creeping around, looking for your next victim!"

Aries watched him, an amused curl of his lips forming. "Victim? Or willing participant? There's a fine line between darkness and the thrill it brings. I can give you what you crave."

But Kai felt the weight of darkness closing in, breathing life into rage that interlaced everything around him. "You've already brought so much chaos into our lives, Aries. I can't allow you to keep pulling strings, making me a puppet in your sick game, leave me the fuck alone!"

The room fell silent, tension thickening as they stood at the precipice of both temptation and complete rejection.

Kai felt a swell of resistance pulse through him, igniting a deep need within to reclaim control, to take ownership of what he truly wanted.

"Get out," Aries commanded, his voice firm.

"What?" Kai was shocked at the order, was Aries telling him to get out,

"You came over to MY house, you kissed me first and you slept with me WITH your consent, Kai..." Aries bent to his eye level. "Get out of my house" Aries said, though it hurt him to cast Kai out of his house he couldn't deny he was pissed at the older man.

Why was he acting like he didn't want what happened to happen, he initiated everything and now he's blaming him?

"I'm going to shower, if I come back and you're still here, you won't like what I'll do to you" Aries angrily entered his bathroom.

Kai stood there stunned but chose the better option and walked away.

"Great, now I smell like sex" he sighed as he walked out of his apartment.

.

Back in the safety of his own space, Kai tussled with the aftermath of the encounter, a wild mixture of panic, shame, and lingering attraction thrumming within him.

The taste of danger still hung on the edges of his mind, evoking flashes of raw desire and chaos that refused to fade.

He dropped onto the bed in one of the many guest rooms, he couldn't bring himself to go see Vincent now, Austin and Joey were in Austin's room, so he went to the guest room to shower and is now laying on the bed with nothing but a robe, his fingers trembling against the cool fabric of the sheets.

The connection with Aries felt real, too real, tainted with remnants of darkness he never thought he could succumb to, he liked how the younger man's touch felt on his body, it felt nothing like Vincent's, it felt better.

Kai laid there trying to remember when his life went downhill, he was happy and okay before Aries showed up to his doorsteps ready to have breakfast with Joey and Austin.

He wished Joey never invited him over and he also wished he never involved himself with the younger man.

Because now he had to pay the price for thinking with everything but his brain.
