Chapter 47 I know it’s you

Chapter 47 I know it’s you
Omniscient Narrative

Kai wasn't stupid, he knew Vincent's accident wasn't an accident at all.

Vincent's car accident still played on an eternal loop in his mind like a broken record, shattering the illusory peace they had just begun to find.

Each time he thought about the incident, the threads of fury twisted tighter around his heart.

'Why can't he just leave me alone'

After several sleepless nights, determination gripped Kai like a vice.

This time, he would not leave the darkness in control. He owed Vincent that much.

Gathering himself, Kai resolved to find Aries and confront him about his meddling, even if it meant stepping into the shadows of danger he had endeavored to avoid. This time, he would not allow himself to falter.

.

Kai finally found himself outside Aries's apartment. He hesitated briefly, a clenching dread unfurling in his gut.

He had told Austin and Joey to go stay with Vincent so he knew he wouldn't bump into either of them as he was here.

With a deep breath, Kai knocked on the door. The echoes ran through the silence like a heartbeat. He could feel fear gathering behind every heartbeat, but he refused to back down now.

The door creaked open, revealing Aries with an exaggerated grin plastered across his face. "My beautiful Kai, what a surprise. What brings you to my humble abode?" His voice dripped with a mixture of mockery and intrigue, shadows of insanity glimmering in his expression.

"Cut the fucking crap, Aries," Kai spat, the anger fizzing at the edges of his composure. "You know why I'm here."

"Please, do come in." There was a playful lilt in Aries's tone, an undercurrent of danger laced with forbidden thrill.

Stepping into the apartment, the door closed behind him with ominous finality, asserting a weight on his conscience.

Aries seemed revelatory in his own madness, and the intensity in his gaze sent a shiver coursing through Kai's form.

As Kai paced the living room, the air thickened with tension. "You're responsible for the accident, aren't you?" he demanded, searching Aries's face for a sign, some flicker of guilt or acknowledgment.

"Guilty as charged," Aries replied, leaning against the wall with feigned nonchalance, his body language an unsettling mix of confident pride and vulnerability. "But that's merely a technicality, don't you think?"

"How could you?" Kai felt the rage bubbling within him now, twisting his gut with every tick of the clock. "What kind of sick person would endanger someone's life?"

As the words left Kai's mouth, he saw the wretched darkness swim in Aries's eyes, it flickered with a mixture of emotions too complex to decipher. "Just doing what needs to be done, Kai" Aries stated evenly, crossing his arms defiantly. "Vincent isn't the man you claim so highly of him"

Across the room, Kai felt tumult coursing through him. "This isn't just a game! You put his life on the line."

Aries smirked, eyes gleaming with mischief. "Ah, but look at you, Kai. You're so passionate, so tied up in your emotions. It's intoxicating, really and very annoying"

"You're insane," Kai seethed, feeling raw. "You've lost moral. This is no way to resolve anything."

"It's not about resolution, my love," Aries said, moving closer, a predatory glint in his eyes that made the hairs on Kai's neck stand. "It's about the truth, I want you to see who cares for you, who loves you more."

Anger surged within, igniting something deep inside Kai. "You think this is love?"

Aries stepped even closer, their breaths mingling in the small space between them—a raw scent of desire wafted, tangling dangerously in the air. "What else would you call it Kai."

Kai felt torn between the rage boiling in his heart and the inexplicable, magnetic pull that Aries exuded. "You need to stop this madness, stay away from Vincent, and stay away from me."

"You have no idea what you want, Kai," Aries whispered; their faces nearly touched, the tension palpable. "You don't know how thrilling it is to embrace darkness. I could show you."

For a moment, Kai's defenses wavered, his breath hitching with unspecified longing as they stood toe-to-toe.

Each word crafted spun the thread of their fates together, an undercurrent of temptation igniting an unknown fire.

Kai desperately fought against it, reminding himself of the stakes.

"I want nothing to do with you," he replied tightly, forcing down the anger into something resolute, but the words felt like a fragile facade crumbling under the weight of the confrontation.

"What a pity," Aries replied, leaning in closer, his presence tangible and intoxicating. "You're fighting a battle against yourself as much as you are me."

A shiver cascaded down Kai's spine as temptation sizzled in the air between them. The connection was magnetic, a volatile mixture of anger and unrepentant longing. Kai yearned to reach out, to lean into the darkness he struggled so fiercely against.

"Stop it!" Kai growled, voice trembling under the weight of denial, his heart thrumming violently against his ribcage.

But every fiber in him ached for connection, and his defenses began to wane.

Without realizing it, he drew closer, just inches from Aries, the air thick with charged desperation. In that fleeting moment, he faltered, the need for something reckless overpowering the reason trying to hold it back.

The world beyond them faded away, and before Kai could stop himself, he closed the distance, lips crashing against Aries in a fervent collision of need and longing.

The kiss was electric, wild and unapologetic, igniting something primal.

Aries responded with a low growl of hunger, pulling Kai closer, fingers weaving into his hair. The world around them blurred, the chaos of morality merging into a haze of intoxicating connection.

As they tumbled onto the sofa, everything felt both wrong and right, a tangible confusion engulfing Kai's thoughts. He knew who Aries was, what he had done, yet there he was, lost within the tangled web of lust and regret.

Aries's hands roamed Kai's body, igniting fire with each touch, each caress.

Passion drowned out the voice of reason. They were spiraling together, a torrential downpour of sins and desires washing over them.

Kai was embodying everything he swore he'd stand against, the darkness he vowed to chase away was now consuming him whole.
