50. The New Employees

It's not difficult to get an extra assistant willing to work for someone like Duke. Who wants to waste to be able to get the chance to work at McCarter's company? Only a fool would want to turn down an opportunity that would not come twice if still want to think about the job. And now, a woman already in Savannah's office, as if welcoming the arrival of the woman who had just arrived at the office, by the presence of a woman there.

A woman slightly taller than Savannah's build, has a slender body but some parts of the woman's body is much more contained compared to hers. "Hello good Morning. Are you Irina? The candidate summoned today?”

"Yes, of course."

And not long after, Savannah saw the figure of her boss came and walked to his royal table from that translucent glass door.

“Sir Duke has come. One thing you should know when he's in to his office in the morning. That is, by immediately moving forward head over to this table to make him a cup of coffee,” said Savannah while walking towards the table in the corner of the room to make coffee, with Irina following from behind.

"What about the measure?"

"I'll let you know if after this you've been officially accepted."

"You are right."

After a while Savannah had finished making coffee, the woman immediately invited the prospective employee to follow his steps to the boss's room.

"Good morning, Sir. Here's your coffee, and your potential assistant candidate too already here.”

The words that were said by Savannah immediately made Duke who originally focused his gaze on the screen of the cell phone in hand, headed two female figures in front of them.

“This is the person I asked to contact yesterday?”

“Yes, Sir. It's true she's the candidate you asked to contact yesterday. Irina Harris. The best graduates who just got a degree a few months ago his scholar. Even though I don't have much experience with working in companies, but Irina was so recommended by several companies where she used to be his apprentice. After giving the code by nodding her head to Irina so she can following her, Savannah stepped towards her back in his room and ready to start the day that will make her get super busy.

"Is that what Sir Duke called?" Irina asked while taking a step his feet followed Savannah's steps out of the office to the elevator. The floor of the human resources department is on the second floor up, making Savannah decide to drive Irina up to eventually meet with one of the employees there who will take care of some of the document requirements of the new employee.

"Yes. He was a Duke McCarter. Someone who has officially become your boss since you have been accepted as his assistant.”

“I didn't expect that the joint interview with him would end that fast. I didn't even introduce myself at all got to talk to him.”

“And, that is the nature of our boss. If that's what he wanted, then without further he immediately made his decision.”

"Like that? However, it seems...”

"Why? Do you feel starting to hesitate to be able to work for him after knowing one of those traits?” interrupted the direct Savannah asked Irina who seemed to be able to read her boss's character.

“Is he one of the boss who have a friendly nature with employee?"

"Hmm..., yes and no. He has volatile moods. So, we are the assistants. Who should be more patient and accept that one nature.”

“Then, since here you are my senior. Will you help me in any work that I will do later? Maybe until I adapted for a few weeks, and I felt used to it everything."

"Of course. I'd be happy to help you."

And when the elevator that the two of them were riding suddenly stopped and opened in the floor they didn't go to, apparently Dylan's figure was there and immediately stepped into the elevator where Savannah was.

"Hey, where have you been?" asked the woman with a smile towards. Dylan who had pulled Savannah's waist into his arms and don't forget to kiss the girlfriend's forehead briefly.

"Toilet. My floor was broken, so I went upstairs. Then, where do you want to leave?"

“Drove this new assistant beside me to the resources department. Oh, this is Irina, Duke's new assistant. And Irina, this is Dylan. He work in the accounting department,” Savannah said to each other introduced the two people beside her.

"Assistant?" Asked Dylan who made sure.

"Yes. Suddenly he asked for a second assistant to help my job."

"Sounds very unusual."

“But what can I do, other than do the thing to be that order?"

"Yes. You are right."

“So, do you want to get acquainted with Irina?”

"Yes, of course. Hello, Irina. Nice to meet you," Dylan said reached out to Irina who was also immediately greeted with a shaking hand.

"Nice to meet you too."

And after the two of them had gotten to know each other, the elevator had gone up on the floor of the human resources department.

"Okay. See you this afternoon. You owe me lunch, Sir."

"Sure, Darling. See you later."

After kissing each other on the lips, Savannah waved hand to his boyfriend as she stepped out of the elevator.

"So, Dylan is your boyfriend?" Irina asked Savannah.

"Is it too obvious?"

"Very. You guys look like love birds always in season marry. Do not want to separate and always want to show love between you to the people around.”

"Is that true? I feel bad for you for already show something like that.”

"No problem. I understand such a thing. I have too experience it."

"It feels so happy, doesn't it?"

"Yes, right. However, your boyfriend looks a bit like…”

"Duke?"

"Yes."

“Because it's true. Dylan is Duke's older brother. He is a McCarter."

"Is that true?" Irina said quite surprised.

"Yes."

“A McCarter. But why is your boyfriend working in the department finance? Shouldn't a McCarter be...”

"And after all your business here will be finished. You can go straight back to your desk, and ready to work. You remember the floor on our office, right?”

"Yes, of course." Irina replied with a chuckle.

"Okay. Then I'll leave you here, and see you at our office later."

After saying the farewell, Savannah immediately rushed over Irina left by stepping back towards to the elevator.

It was already eight in the evening, and Savannah was tidy up his desk to get ready to go home. But in while Savannah just turned off his computer screen, suddenly Irina just came back from Duke's room and immediately came over to Savannah's whereabouts looking a little uneasy.

“Savannah…” Irina called while occasionally looking at the situation in the room boss there.

"Yes," the woman replied by shifting her gaze towards Irina who standing in front of his desk.

“Sir Duke, asked me to have dinner with him. So what what should I do?”

“Hmm..., what else besides carrying out her wish, Irina? Do you want refuse the request from your boss?”

“But Sir Duke only asked me to have dinner together."

"Yes, then go. But if you feel uncomfortable and want refuse it, give a reasonable and clear reason. So, he will understand it."

"Like that?"

"Yes."

“But I feel bad if I refuse it. Apart from him who is my boss, today is my first day on the job.”

"Yeah, so you go with him then."

"Is it like that? But why should it be alone. It feels very awkward to me.”

“Irina, let's decide!” Exclaimed Savannah who wanted to give firmness for his coworker.

After a while Irina silent to think for a moment, figure Duke also came into the assistant's office and made the woman reflexively fell silent and averted her eyes to the man.

“Irina, I don't have much time. Do you want to have dinner with me or not?” Duke said straight to the point and without heeding it Savannah's presence that was so clearly visible was in the room that too.

“Hmm..., y-yes, Sir. I want it. But I want to clear my desk first."

"Five minutes of your time and I'll be waiting in the car."

"Yes, Sir."

After the man left the room, so did the two women immediately looked at each other and a little smile on the Savannah's face.

"Keep spirit! You have decided to accept the invitation to dinner. Then, you also have to do it sincerely."

“Actually I feel a little forced because I feel pressured at the sound of his voice."

“Come on, I'm sure you can get through that dinner without feeling awkward. And now, instead of you still feeling confused about what to do. Seeing Irina who looked quite in such a rush made Savannah unconsciously already smiled a little. Somewhat sad smile why did that woman publish, just to know the new employee as already approached by the boss. Indeed Savannah didn't want to think about such things either. It is just, the big change that occurred in Duke's attitude towards her was made Savannah felt that all the things that had happened between her being with that man really meant nothing. Don't want being disloyal, it's just that Savannah didn't expect it everything would change that fast. But the woman continued told herself that she didn't need to think about that thing contact with Duke outside of a professional nature, because she was already having Dylan in his heart and life.
