48. The Past 2
~
"You must be wondering why something like that has come to my ears, right?"
"Hmm..., ac-actually true, Sir."
"Duke is a child who loves to tell stories he has, to his parents. Because to him it was one bond between parent and child. So, maybe if one day there is a thing as far as I know between you and Duke, you don't have to wonder again why would I know that. So, how about the business trip?"
"Yes, Sir. Everything is going well, as it is should. And I decided to go back first, meanwhile Sir Duke has decided to stay there a little longer."
"Why should it be like that? You should still be there and accompany your boss, right?"
"However, it was Sir Duke himself who told me to return first because some things regarding work there already finished."
"Like that?"
"Yes, Sir. Then, are you here having an appointment or just want to dinner?"
"I had an appointment with a friend and I apparently came first from my friend. So, I have to wait a little more. And you alone, are you here for dinner?"
"Yes, Sir."
"It seems I'm a little disturbing your time with the others," said Jamie, glancing slightly at Dylan's figure sitting back there with a sharp look, and Dylan also didn't care the conversation that's going on.
"No, Sir. You didn't intrude on my time at all."
"So?"
"Yes, Sir. I am actually pleased to see you again on this occasion."
"You really are an extraordinary woman. And so am I likes you, Savannah."
"Thank you for your compliment, Sir." Savannah replied by giving the smile on his lips.
"Then, I'm going to my table."
"Yes, of course, Sir. Thank you for wanting to greet me first formerly. Enjoy your evening."
"Yes, of course."
After the short talk ended and the two of them had also exchanged parting ways, Savannah rushed to her seat again.
"Very good sounding talk," Dylan said along with Savannah who had just sat in her chair.
"You should say hi too, Dy."
"Why should I greet him when he's the only one who is like that preoccupied with talking and greeting you, and taking me as if will is the last wind."
"You really feel that way?"
"It's not that my feelings have become as exaggerated as you'd expect, but that's the real truth."
"It feels but really so strange. I who was nothing became so close to your parents, whereas you really really his biological child is like two strangers who are not mutually exclusive know."
"That's the truth, Savee."
"Why, Dy? It feels, the relationship between the three of you. Feels quite heavy problem with you so that it seems that no word of apology can happen. You sure feel like there really isn't anything big going on in between you all? You know what I mean, there wouldn't be a big deal if there weren't any little thing that became the beginning of the emergence of that problem, right?"
Hearing Savannah's words, Dylan immediately became silent. However a few moments passed with silence filling the situation in between the two, the man started saying things that made Savannah at the time heard it made to be quite clueless.
"Do you believe that I was once a bad man?"
"Bad?"
"Yes."
"Bad in the truest sense or..."
"I've attempted murder," interrupted the man who made it Savannah by reflex immediately screamed but in a still voice can be controlled and does not disturb other diners in the restaurant.
"WHAT!?"
"I tried to kill his favorite child."
"You..., trying to kill Duke?"
"Yes. I was on cocaine at that time. That was my teenage years bad, Savee. I started smoking, drinking, taking drugs. I even almost died from an overdose. The attention is already not I received since when I was a child, making me think that I am is unloved and wants to be thrown away. And when I was a teenager still can't think clearly and wears things too often that drives me crazy, easily turns me into someone who so brave. Until that day came, I really was a mess. I drank and I used, without realizing it had brought a knife in my hand and was about to stab it right in the man's heart when he was asleep. However, I haven't had time to do that yet. His beloved parents and who always defends it has caught me first before, and he was immediately furious. Merciless, he put me in jail right then and there. My teenage years really bad. I'm broken, messy, and have nothing. Five years I was in prison and when I got out at my second age twenty-three, the only person who picked me up, came to receive me came back with open arms that had fallen apart in this mess only My mom. She is the only person who cares about me and think I exist. She was always beside me, accompanying me and took me to the process of healing the inner wounds that I had during my time my teenager. And after a while time passed I experienced the process healing, that woman that I love besides you, started ordering me to live a righteous life. I restarted and finished my education and started working in a family company like his wish. However, all the beautiful things that I felt were suddenly immediately disappeared again the moment I accepted that fact My mom got sick and left forever from my life. I broken again, I'm alone, I want to feel like I'm back to how it used to be. But if I repeat stupidity like I did when I was still a teenager. I will only hurt my Mom's heart who already peace there, with my deeds that I also know that very wrong. So, that's what made me unable make peace with them, because they don't want to talk to me. I've tried to speak up and apologize but..., they just think of me as nothing more than trash that will only tarnish the family's good name. And up until now, My life which is alone and has no one, has been filled again and completed by you, Savannah. You came into my life, became the perfect replacement for a woman to be my Mom, who complete my life. You're the only one I have in my life, Savannah. I don't know if you will leave my life later like what, makes me want to go all out, keep you so that you can always be in my life, Savannah. But if you feel uncomfortable with me after hearing the truth what happened in my life, maybe you can reconsider to be able to along with me."
"No, no, no. It's just part of your past, Dy. And all that has passed, you also already regret for all the things that you do that, right? And I don't care about it, because it's past."
"You really don't mind it?"
"Yes. Whatever has happened in your past, doesn't change anything what I want at this point. That is you, Dy."
The two-handed grip that Dylan did to Savannah's hands, made the two immediately throw each other at each other a smile that describes the happiness of being in love she felt it.
