That Burning BLue

**\[ALICE’s Point of View\]**

It was awful.

The whole place was vast but it was rotting from the inside.

The wooden stairs creaked as I stepped carefully with the Mohawk-haired guy behind me. I glanced at him through the corner of my eyes and saw his stern face, showing that he never really liked me being in their ‘home’. A secret base that I had never heard of and I wondered what those people were hiding in a place like this.

“Can you walk a little faster, Missy? I have so many things to do today!” he complained as he shoved me into the hallways. All the windows were heavily curtained, crusted with thick dust. There were threadlike fissures on the marbled floor that looked dangerous. Will this whole floor crumble down if an earthquake strikes this place?

“As if I asked being in here!” I snarled at him and tried to break free from the rope that was around my wrists. “I don’t know what your Alpha wants from me but I don’t want to be here! You all have to let me go!”

“Oh, yeah? Good luck surviving in the forest outside.” he scoffed at me and coughed. I grimaced as he cleared his throat and then continued. “No one survives the beasts roaming around this house, Missy. They will devour you. Crunch your skull and eat your brain before you can even scream for help!”

I laughed at him dryly, “Yeah. I think you are just trying to scare me.”

I expected him to snarl back just like he always did but instead, he shoved me violently inside a room. I lost my balance and stumbled down the floor as I choked on the clouds of dust, making my eyes sore and teary.

“What the— What’s wrong with—”

And that f*cking *sshole slammed the door shut.

“You dare step out of this room and I will make sure to break your pretty little neck!” He yelled in anger as I heard his footsteps fade.

I pushed myself up to the floor and stood. My heart was ramming in my chest while looking around the whole, dilapidated room with broken furniture and a dust-covered queen-sized bed that was heart-shaped.

“What kind of person can sleep in a place like this!” I groaned and decided to start cleaning. I had the inkling that Maverick had no intention of letting me go unless Alpha Zen would come to rescue me.

Unless Bellamy would come to rescue me.

That thought brought sorrow to me. I bit my lower lip hard and thought about the last heated argument Bellamy and I had. I was curious to know if he still cared for me. Was he doing something to find me? Would he look for me? Or just forget that I existed just to restore his friendship and retain his loyalty to his friend?

He was right. He and Alpha Zenon were like brothers before we even met. If he pushed his feelings for me, all those years of their friendship would end, and I never wanted Alpha Zenon to wage war against Bellamy’s pack just because I chose Bellamy being my mate.

“F*ck it.” I scoffed, grabbing a broom from a corner of the room, tore the hem of my shirt, and used it to cover my nose. “I don’t care what they do anymore! I just want to leave this place and find my dad!

I focused all my anger on cleaning the place. I heard yelling outside and looked out the window. It was Maverick and his men. It was as if he was giving them orders while his muscled arms folded on his hard chest.

My eyes widened when Maverick looked up. I hid away from the window, grabbing the broom to my chest in panic. I gasped, scared that he caught a glimpse of me while I was gazing at him from the room that was currently my prison cell.

I didn’t know why I was nervous. I didn’t know why I cared if he caught me or what. I didn’t know why it made me feel embarrassed. I shook my head to take that thought away and scowled myself for having such ridiculous feelings. Perhaps I was too stressed out; that’s why I kept looking for something that would interest me. But Maverick? Goddess, NO!

Five hours. It took me five hours to completely clean the g*dd*mned room! I was tired to the bones, sweaty, and sleepy when I dropped to the floor and rested my back against the side of the bed. I needed a bath. I just hoped that had a heater in this place or I had to endure the freezing water just to get rid of the dirt.

But there was a problem.

I had no spare clothes here.

The wooden door creaked open and I perplexedly stood with the broom as a weapon, which I found silly and embarrassing so I hid it behind me and glared at the man stepping inside. It was Maverick holding something in his arms.

My shoulders relaxed.

Clothes. He brought me soap and fresh, clean clothes.

His piercing blue eyes roamed around the room with surprise. “You cleaned. I like what you did here.”

Whether that’s a compliment, I still won’t forget that he kidnapped me. I glared at him as I hissed. “Let me go, Maverick. My father needs me.”

Instead of answering, he threw me the clothes and the bar of soap with a lifted brow and grinned at me. “I don’t think I can do that, Alice. Look at what you did to this room. Maybe you should clean the whole mansion instead so you won’t feel bored here,” he said, full of sarcasm.

I thought I would burst into anger. “Is that why you kidnapped me?! To be your scullery maid in this miserable place?!”

The grin on his face disappeared as he gazed into my honey-brown eyes with earnestness. “I told you already why, Alice Drakon. You are here because you will become one of my wives. I will make sure you have a good time here until you realize you really belong with me.”

My whole body shivered as I saw that desire burned in his light blue eyes.
