3 - Knight in shining armor

Abigail's POV

"Dad! Please, talk to me!" I begged my father to confront me, which was a terrible idea after pushing him away. This is not my first time being treated this way, but I hope my father's heart will melt and forgive me. "Dad!"

"Who are you to barge in here after what you told my husband, huh?" Speaking of the devil.

"Open this damn gate, Priscilla! "I will sue you!" I threatened her.

"You can sue me whenever you want, Abigail. But listen to me. You are no longer a member of this family, and your father has asked me to give you this," she said, handing me a white envelope. I took it and read the letter's contents, and I was shocked. "A restraining order?"

"Exactly. You are not permitted to approach this house or any of us within 100 feet. Now, it appears that you are revoking the order.

"This is unlikely my father! How dare you use my father against me!" I shouted.

"Oh, dear. It was not my fault that your father cut ties with you. Have you forgotten what you have done, Abigail?

"Because of you, he did this," I exclaimed.

"No, Abigail. You forced him to do this. Now, get out of my sight. Also, I throw all your stuff away. Just check them in the trash. I bet your belongings are still there, and you will need them when you live on the street."

"What?" I inquired, puzzled.

"Oops, my bad. Your dad cut your cards. I also make him cancel your bank account as punishment. Find a way to survive and work at some trashy restaurant as a server. So, I am looking forward to seeing you there and serving us. Have fun living on the street!"

"What?" I was stunned because I already understand now why the doctor I paid to hide my pregnancy called yesterday. He told me the check bounced, and I have no idea why. So, I had to pay him in cash. But now I already understand why because this woman lures my father to do that!

"How could you! Open the gate, Priscilla. I need to see my father!"

She smirked, saying, "Beg me."

"No! I would never degrade myself! Not to a woman like you! So, open this damn gate!" I shouted.

"Then leave," she said, turning to walk away when I stopped her. "Wait!"

"I do not have time to deal with you, Abby."

I kneeled, swallowed my pride, and said, "Priscilla, let me see my father. I am on my knees. So, please. I am begging you..."

She turns and walks towards me. "Beg me more, Abigail."

"Please, Priscilla. I am begging you."

"I feel bad for you, Abigail. You lost your mother, and now your father has abandoned you. Well, I can not blame him. He has a disobedient daughter, and I will punish her as your father punished you."

"Your daughter has an affair with my husband. She even murdered my baby!"

"Do not blame us for your incompetence, Abby. My Hilary had nothing to do with your baby's death, so I do not believe she murdered your child."

"Please, Priscilla..."

"I like how you beg, Abigail. However, it was not enough. She crosses her arms and summons the guards. "Yes, Ma'am?"

"Ensure that this woman never enters this property. "If she insists, report it to me, and I will deal with her," she told the guard.

"No, Priscilla."

"Bye, Abigail."

"No! Let me see my father!" I screamed. I tried calling my father as loudly as possible, but he did not answer, so I began blaming myself. "Dad..." I murmured as I started walking away from the gate.

I cried my heart out without caring about the people on the street. I lost my father due to my stupidity. I even learned about my husband's affair and chose her over me. Perhaps they were right. I was the one to blame. My love for him blinded me, and I was foolish to believe that my husband would never cheat on me.

I came to a halt when the pain I was experiencing became unbearable. I close my eyes as I face the street. After that, I start walking without looking at the road. Perhaps ending my life will be the end of it. I continue walking without opening my eyes until I hear a car honk. I pause. I was ready to face my death, but nothing hit me after a few seconds.

"Abigail!" That familiar voice prompted me to open my eyes and look at him. "Baron?" I cried with relief when I realized it was Baron, my childhood best friend.

"What happened? I was about to pay you and your father a visit when we ran into you here."

"They take my father, Baron. Dad doesn't want me anymore because of them!"

He hugged me, and I continued to cry because it was difficult to accept that my father had chosen the woman who had just entered our lives over his own daughter. But I know he was forced to do it, and I will bring my father back.

"I need your help, Baron."

He separated and looked directly into my eyes, saying, "I will, Abigail."

"Help me regain my father's trust. He is the only family I have left," I stated.

"Where is your husband? He should have looked after you," Baron said, referring to the man I despise.

I moved an inch away from him and announced, "We are divorced."

"What? All of a sudden."

"I found him naked in our bed with Hilary. He did not care if I lost the child, so I lied about it. The doctor informed them that the baby had died, but it had survived, and I paid the doctor to hide it. However, they used my father's rage to kick me out of our mansion."

"They are evil. Let's go. I will speak to your father." He grabbed me, but I immediately stopped him. "No, Baron. That's impossible."

"Why not? It's still your home."

"My father has already filed a restraining order. I was not permitted to go near them. I do not have any money or resources because my father canceled my credit cards and bank accounts.

"That is terrible."

"Yes, indeed!" I started crying again.

He touched and lifted my chin to make our eyes meet, saying, "Stop crying, Abigail. It would be preferable if you fought back, and I will support you. For now, come with me."

I glanced at his hand, awaiting my acceptance. I accepted it without hesitation. He smiled at me and said, "You will get your father back and everything you deserve. I will look after you and your baby. We will hold those who harm you accountable."
