Epilogue

Epilogue
Five years had passed since the shadow war ended. Five years since Laura claimed her throne as Alpha Queen. Five years since she learned that broken things could bloom into something beautiful.
Laura stood in their private grove, the same place where she'd first felt truly safe. Where she'd first understood what love could be. The ancient trees whispered secrets in the wind, and sunlight danced through the leaves like golden fire.
Her marks had changed over the years. The dark tattoos that once covered her chest, arms, and legs now shimmered sometimes with a soft silver light. They no longer looked scary or ominous. Instead, they looked like moonbeams carved into her skin. Beautiful, powerful and at peace.
"Mama!" Luna's voice cut through her thoughts. "Look what I found!"
Laura turned to see her daughter running toward her, small legs pumping with excitement. Luna was five now, with bright amber eyes and wild dark hair that never stayed in place. She was holding a white flower in her tiny hands.
"It's beautiful, sweetheart," Laura said, kneeling down to Luna's level.
"It's for you," Luna said, handing over the flower with a proud smile.
Laura's heart melted as she accepted the gift. "Thank you, baby. I love it."
"I love you too, Mama," Luna said, throwing her arms around Laura's neck.
The words still made Laura's chest tight with emotion. She'd never get tired of hearing them. Never stop being amazed that this little girl was hers.
"Where are your daddies?" Laura asked, tucking the flower behind her ear.
Luna giggled. "Playing hide and seek. Daddy Dante is hiding behind the big tree. His foot is sticking out. Daddy Lucian is behind the rocks, but I can see his hair. Daddy Nikolai is in the bushes, and he keeps sneezing. And Daddy Zephyr is just watching them all like they're silly."
Laura laughed. "And you're supposed to be seeking?"
"I got distracted," Luna said with a shrug. "The flower was prettier."
"It happens," Laura said, standing up. "Want to go find them?"
"Will you help me?" Luna asked, taking Laura's hand.
"Always," Laura said, squeezing her small fingers.
They walked through the grove together, Luna pretending not to see her fathers' obvious hiding spots. Laura played along, her heart full of joy at this simple game.
"I can't find them anywhere," Luna called out loudly.
"Maybe they went home," Laura suggested, fighting back a smile.
"Maybe," Luna said. "But I think I heard something."
She walked over to the tree where Dante was hiding. His boot was clearly visible, and Laura could see his shoulder shaking with silent laughter.
"What's this?" Luna asked, reaching for his foot.
"AHHH!" Dante yelled, jumping out dramatically. "You found me!"
Luna squealed with delight, jumping up and down. "I found Daddy Dante!"
"You did," Dante said, scooping her up and spinning her around. "You're the best seeker in the whole kingdom."
"I know," Luna said with five-year-old confidence that made Laura's heart sing.
Laura watched as Luna found the rest of her fathers. Each one acted surprised and defeated. Each one showered her with praise and hugs. Lucian ruffled her hair. Nikolai tickled her sides. Zephyr smiled that rare, soft smile he only gave to Luna.
"My turn to hide," Luna announced when she'd found them all.
"Okay," Lucian said. "We'll count to ten."
"Count to one hundred," Luna said firmly.
"One hundred?" Zephyr asked, raising an eyebrow.
"I'm really good at hiding," Luna explained seriously.
"Alright," Nikolai said, his green eyes twinkling. "One hundred it is."
Laura helped Luna find the perfect hiding spot behind a cluster of thick bushes where she couldn't be seen but could still hear everything.
   "Stay very quiet," Laura whispered.
"I will," Luna whispered back, her eyes bright with excitement.
Laura walked back to her mates. They were all grinning like idiots, and her heart swelled with love for these four powerful men who turned to mush around one little girl.
"She's going to be a handful," Dante said, shaking his head.
"She already is," Lucian said with obvious pride.
"Just like her mother," Nikolai added, giving Laura a look that made her stomach flutter.
"I wasn't that bad," Laura protested.
"You were worse," Zephyr said with a rare smile.
"I was not," Laura said, but she was laughing.
"You challenged four of the most dangerous Alphas in the world to prove your worth," Dante pointed out.
   "That was different," Laura said.
"It was," Lucian said, his silver eyes soft. "It was brave."
"It was stupid," Laura said, realizing it now. "I could have been killed."
"But you weren't," Nikolai said. "You were perfect."
Laura felt tears prick her eyes. The good kind. The kind that came from being overwhelmed by love and happiness.
"I can't believe this is my life," she said softly.
"Good can't believe or bad can't believe?" Dante asked, moving closer.
"Good," Laura said quickly. "Definitely good."
"It's going to get even better," Lucian said, his voice low and warm.
   "How?" Laura asked, curious.
"We've been thinking about having another baby," Zephyr said quietly.
   Laura's heart stopped. "We are?"
"We are," Nikolai said, his eyes hopeful. "If you want to."
"When?" Laura asked, her voice barely a whisper.
"Whenever you're ready," Dante said. "No pressure."
"I'm ready," Laura said without hesitation. "I want Luna to have siblings."
"Siblings," Dante said, testing the word. "I like the sound of that."
   "Me too," Zephyr said.
"Me three," Nikolai added with a wide smile.
"Ready or not, here we come!" Lucian called out, breaking the moment.
They all pretended to search for Luna, looking in all the wrong places on purpose. Making a big show of being confused.
"Where could she be?" Dante asked loudly.
   "Maybe she's invisible," Zephyr suggested.
   "Maybe she's magic," Nikolai said.
"Maybe she's the best hider in the world," Lucian concluded.
Luna giggled from her hiding spot, the sound making Laura's heart full to bursting.
"I think I heard something," Nikolai said.
"What did you hear?" Dante asked.
   "Giggling," Nikolai said.
"Giggling?" Lucian asked, pretending to be shocked.
   "Definitely giggling," Nikolai confirmed.
He walked over to Luna's hiding spot slowly. "I wonder if the giggling is coming from... here!"
He pulled back the bushes. Luna was grinning from ear to ear, her face red from trying not to laugh.
"You found me!" Luna said, jumping up.
"I found you," Nikolai said, pulling her close.
"Was I good at hiding?" Luna asked hopefully.
   "The best," Laura said.
   "Really?" Luna asked.
"Really," all four of her fathers said at once.
"I love you all," Luna said, looking around at her family.
"We love you too," Laura said, her voice thick with emotion.
"More than the moon," Dante said.
"More than the stars," Lucian added.
   "More than everything," Nikolai said.
"More than anything," Zephyr finished with a gentle smile.
Laura looked around at her family. At the life they'd built together. At the love they'd created from nothing but broken pieces.
The sun was setting, painting the sky in shades of pink and gold. Everything was perfect.
"I have something to tell you," Laura said, scooping Luna up.
"What?" Luna asked, her eyes curious.
"I'm going to have another baby," Laura said softly.
"A baby?" Luna asked, her eyes going round.
   "A baby," Laura confirmed.
"Will it be my brother or sister?" Luna asked.
"We don't know yet," Laura said. "But they'll be your sibling."
"I want a sister," Luna said firmly.
"We'll see," Laura said with a laugh.
"I want a brother," Dante said.
"We'll see," Laura said again, still laughing.
Luna put her small hand on Laura's belly. "Hi, baby. I'm your big sister. I'm going to take care of you."
Laura felt tears in her eyes. "They're going to love you so much."
"I'm going to love them too," Luna said with the pure joy only children could show.
"We all are," Dante said, his voice rough with emotion.
Laura looked up at the sky. The stars were coming out one by one. The moon was full and bright, casting silver light on everything.
"Thank you," she whispered to the Moon Goddess.
   "For what?" Dante asked.
"For all of this," Laura said. "For them. For you. For everything."
"You don't have to thank anyone," Lucian said firmly. "You earned this."
Laura thought about her journey. From broken Luna to Alpha Queen. From lost to found. From alone to surrounded by love.
"I used to think I was broken," she said quietly.
"You were never broken," Dante said with feeling.
"I was," Laura said. "But I learned something."
   "What?" Luna asked, always curious.
"Sometimes when people try to break you, they're actually planting seeds," Laura said, touching her marks. They glowed softly in the moonlight, beautiful and peaceful.
"What kind of seeds?" Luna asked.
"The kind that grow into something beautiful," Laura said, tapping Luna's nose.
   "Like flowers?" Luna asked.
"Like strength," Laura said. "Like love. Like hope."
   "Like family?" Luna asked.
"Exactly like family," Laura said, smiling as she ruffled her hair.
Laura looked around at her mates. At her daughter. At the life they'd built from ashes and pain. At the marks on her skin that no longer scared her but made her feel powerful and loved.
She closed her eyes and felt peace wash over her. The kind of peace that came from knowing you were exactly where you belonged.
When she opened her eyes, the moon was directly above them. Full and bright and beautiful.
   "Perfect," she whispered.
And it was. Everything was perfect. Everything was exactly as it should be.
Laura smiled and held her family close. They had faced darkness and won. They had built love from broken pieces. They had created a world where children could play safely in the moonlight.
   They had done the impossible.
And they had done it together.
The moon shone down on them. On their perfect family. On their perfect love. On their perfect life.
Laura looked up at the silver light and smiled, her marks glowing softly in response.
They broke me to bury me. But I was a seed. And now... I bloom in flame.
   THE END!!!!
