Chapter 9 Salvador Vlad!
ADRIANA
“Salvador Vlad!" I gasped and almost jerked up from my seat, but the police officer behind me held my shoulders down.
Salvador looked over to the man and nodded him off. The cop bowed and left, leaving us alone.
“What do you want?" I snapped the moment the cop disappeared.
His full lips stretched into a sinister smile, and his eyes gleamed with evil.
“Aren't you happy to see me?" He asked.
Salvador Vlad was my brothers' best friend and a close friend of Luna Valerie. I had met him during a time of crisis in the Blood Moon Pack. I disliked him the moment I set my eyes on his face and hoped to have nothing to do with him. I didn't know why, but he seemed to have an interest in me then. He always teased me, and that only made me hate him more. Perhaps I hated him because of Miles, or because he is a vampire.
After months of his sudden disappearance when my Pack found peace with his help, I found out that his father, the vampire king, disowned him and gave the Kingdom to his illegitimate brother.
I had felt guilty for hating him when he had sacrificed his right to help my brothers save their Pack.
But now, seeing him and that mark on his neck, I couldn't help the anger that washed through me.
“What are you doing here?" I asked again, intentionally ignoring his previous question.
He sighed and pulled off the hoodie, and I felt my throat knot.
A streak of snow-white hair ran through the lustrous jet-black hair. His hair was still as long as they were years ago, and he still looked the same, too, aside from the white hair.
He didn't seem to have aged a day, and instead, he seemed to have gotten younger.
My brothers looked way older than him, even though they were born in the same era.
“Done staring?" His voice snapped through my mind, and I darted my eyes away from his face and hair.
I sighed and narrowed my eyes, shifting uncomfortably in my seat.
“What happened to you? You just disappeared into thin air and never visited my brothers, even when they had their first child," I said.
He chuckled and threw his head back, his lips stretching so wide that I feared he would scare the humans away.
“You looked forward to seeing me again, didn't you?" He muttered, and my eyes dimmed.
“What?" I scoffed.
The smile dropped, and he leaned closer, forcing my eyes to stare deep into his eyes.
“I told you that bastard was up to no good," he whispered, and goosebumps spread over my skin.
I cursed loudly and jerked back from the petitioner, glaring at him.
“I still wouldn't choose you," I muttered, and he scoffed loudly.
“Hey, I've told you before, I have no interest in little girls. Don't let that little teasing get into your head. I do that to everyone. I was just looking out for your poor heart,” he said.
I gulped hard and dropped my head in regret and embarrassment.
If I had listened to him then and stayed away from Miles, I wouldn't be in this mess.
“You are now a castaway, just like me," he mocked, and my heart clenched.
I gritted my teeth and hit my fist on the petitioner, heaving loudly.
The officer opened the door and yelled out a warning, then slipped out again.
“Are you going to remain here forever? For a crime you didn't commit?" He asked, and my eyes lit up.
I gasped loudly and shifted closer.
“You know I didn't do it, right?" I whispered.
He tilted his head to the side and pointed at the mark on his neck.
“They did," he replied.
I sighed loudly and dug my hand into my hair. My heart tore, and tears gathered in my eyes as agony filled my blood again.
“I wish I could kill them all. Everyone who had hurt me,” I whispered in a quivering voice.
“What if I help you seek revenge?" He whispered.
I shook my head and lowered my head as the tears dropped from my eyes.
How would I seek revenge when I couldn't even prove myself innocent and leave this place?
“It's not possible anymore, I wish I could, I really wish I could," I whispered out my fears.
“Do you want to take revenge on them all?" he asked again.
“Yes, I want to become a monster and crush them all," I replied.
“Hey, look at me," he whispered, and I raised my head to look at him.
He dropped his hand on the petitioner and nodded for me to do the same.
I obeyed and placed my hand on his and stared deep into his eyes. My heart raced as I stared into his eyes.
It felt like something was crawling into my skin, like a flood of current was bursting through me. My body suddenly began to tremble, and sweat soaked the back of my shirt. No matter how hard I tried to pull my hand away and breathe, it felt impossible. It felt like my hand was stuck to the petitioner.
I parted my lips and stared at him, my eyes rolling up as a dark cloud constantly darted across my eyes.
He looked okay, or maybe he looked lifeless. The white streak in his hair was spreading to other parts, and his body was paler than it was a few minutes ago.
“Adriana Nox, listen!" His lips moved, but his voice only echoed like a dangerous wave in my head.
“Look at me!"
My eyes, which were beginning to slam shut, snapped open at the sound of the echo in my head.
“You will find them, you will possess powers you have never imagined. You will destroy and kill, you will never look back, not even once!"
I repeated his words in a whisper, replacing the pronoun.
“Find every one of them. Destroy everyone who has ever crushed you. Become an untamable monster, Adriana Nox!"
A force pulled me back, and my head snapped up when he dropped his hand.
I gasped and gripped my wrist, feeling a new gush of energy in my veins.
"What did you do?” I asked, filled with astonishment and horror.
His entire hair was almost white, with just a small part still black.
"You said you wanted to kill them all, didn't you?" He asked.
My lips parted and slammed shut, and I began to tremble.
“Did you…give me powers?” I asked.
He leaned close and smirked.
"You are now a vampire in the form of a wolf, Ari,” he muttered, and my throat knotted.
"What? But…but you…"
He waved his hand in the air, shaking his head.
“Forget about me, don't you know who I am?" He chuckled.
“I won't fight your cause for you, Ari. You need to fight your enemies yourself. I know how much you wish to become a monster, and I just granted you that wish," he said, and I gasped.
He leaned closer and beckoned that I do the same.
“A minute left!" The officer stuck his head in and snapped.
“Tomorrow, you'll be out," he muttered.
“How?" I asked.
“Just wait, and trust me or don't trust me," he grinned and stood up, then put on the hood over his head.
The door opened, and the officer came.
“I will wait," I muttered as he grabbed my hand and forced me out of the chair.
Salvador nodded and turned around.
I felt like a walking dead person, and at the same time, I felt alive.
Nothing felt better than leaving this place and becoming the monster that I had always wanted to become.
I would make them all fall into a pit of fire, and that included Arlene and Miles.
