Chapter 15 A Handsome Psycho
Chapter 15 A Handsome Psycho
VANCE
"Vance, I swear, I didn't. I don't even know what the hell you're talking about." There was panic in her voice and for some reason, it bothered me that she was feeling that way because of me.
But this? She deserved it. She deserved all of it.
And I bet that little shit, Dominic wouldn't dare to bet with me on something as serious as Valencia.
Surely, he had learnt his lesson.
"Didn't you? Am I supposed to trust the words that come out of your mouth at this point? It does seem like you're forgetting that I and Dominic used to be best of friends before all of this. We pulled apart but that wouldn't be enough reason for him to want me dead and he told me that this is what you requested oof him." Her mouth fell open and I swerved to stare at the wall.
Shit!
I shouldn't be doing this, I shouldn't be lying to her.
"Vance!" She yelled, her voice stern and for a moment, I felt my heart stop. Damn! She knows. With the way her voice sounded, she definitely knows that I was lying.
"You're yelling." I simply said and she swallowed.
" I definitely didn't tell Dominic to do that. I want you dead and you know that but I wouldn't do it by myself. I believe in karma." I almost burst out laughing, but instead, I pursed my lips and let out a loud sigh.
"Okay."
"I mean it, I didn't." She stressed.
Of course, I know you didn't, sweetheart.
Flashback
I stood at the entrance, watching Dominic descending the stairs as he headed towards his car. Fucking piece of shit.
He annoys me just by his mere presence
"Sir, it's done." A waiter whispered and walked off and I smiled to my self. I just couldn't imagine her, flaunting around in a dress he bought for her yet she considered me her worst enemy.
I had just successfully succeeded in taking her stupid husband out of the way and suddenly Dom shows up to be another formidable obstacle? Absolutely not!
"Piero. Is the dress replaced?" I questioned, the call line still open and there was a grunt of approval at the other end.
I leaned against one of the pillars, watching Dominic walk up to his car and take out the dress I had just swapped, not even bothering to see if it was the right dress.
Again and again, nobody deserves a man who doesn't pay attention to details.
He needed to go screw himself over.
Few minutes after Dominic took the dress to her, he was racing down the stairs, looking completely flustered and my head ran through a multiple serie of reasons why that is.
He was as red as a tomato and he had been rubbing both his palm together ever since.
Weird.
I squinted my eyes as he began walking towards my direction once again and smiled to myself.
Now is the best time.
"Hey Dom." I called out, suddenly appear>ng right in front of him and he stopped in his tracks immediately, definitely not expecting to see me there.
"Where in the gates of hell did you come from?" He heaved a deep sigh, blinking rapidly as he stared at me, his eyes filled with disgust.
Or is it disdian?
"That's no way to say hello to an old time friend. You've lost your manners just from travelling for a few years. I imagine what you would be like if you're gone for a decade." He rolled his eyes, yawning as though this whole conversation was boring for him.
I mean it was.
But it wouldn't be.
Not in a moment. I would make it good, something that would keep him invested and his attention hooked.
"I sincerely apologize. I thought you had the power to keep topping the price of the blue diamond but I guess that was my mistake." His jaw tightened.
First lesson I had learnt from my late parents: You needed to understand your enemy before meaning any moves towards them.
Dominic was an egoistic piece of crap. He hated when anyone seemed like they were above him and to be realistic, I was above him.
Secondly, he was bad for Noelle and I was going to let him know that.
"So what? You got the bid, I got the girl and guess what? She said she didn't care a bit about it." Dom retorted and I smiled, physically amused as his defensive self kicked in.
I hadn't even done anything yet and he was already making things quite easy.
"Dom, do not tell me that all these while you were away, you haven't had any dealings with women. That's just something they say to boost your flattened ego." I chuckled, looking down at his fist and they were clenched, his veins popping out of his neck.
"Well, sucks to hear that not everyone is a Casanova like you, Alistair." He added and I pursed my lips.
Actually, what sucks is that I hadn't had any dealings with women either. But well, it's good he didn't know that.
"Does she know? That you came back, not for her as you might claim, but because you were involved in a hit and run? You might be a potential murderer as we speak, dude." I suddenly stated and his eyes flashed as he took two steps closer to him.
Yikes!
Hit it where it hurts, right?
"It wasn't a hit and run, Alistair! And even if she knew, she wouldn't blame me! I'm quite better than you who killed her parents!" He snapped and I took a deep breath in.
That's always going to be the black mark on my name. And it was time to turn it to a black, fucking, diamond.
"And so what? Deep down, she doesn't reject me. She doesn't resent me. We aren't the same, Dominic." I whispered, patting his shoulders and the next instant, I felt a jab up my jaw.
I winced, wiping my lips and smiled as I saw the blood on my lips. This is fun!
"You must be so mad at me, Dom. I want you to guess, if we both got hurt, who do you think she would run to first?" He began to part his lips and I interrupted immediately, "Actually, let me answer that for you..."
I trailed off, his eyes flashed as he glared at me.
"Me. Because despite the fact that it's rumoured my family caused her parents death? Deep down, I'll always be better to her. Always better than you." I looked up, his eyes were red in anger while I patted his shoulder and walked away.
He stood in the same spot for a few minutes, before walking up to his car and getting into his front seat.
I smiled at him and mouthed;
"I'll tell her." I looked towards the entrance, Valencia was descending the stairs.
"Murderer." I mouthed again and his head light came on, blaring into my eyes as he stepped on the accelerator and slammed—
Right.
Into.
Me!!! And with all bliss, she saw it! And thrill ran through me as my head hit the ground while I saw her scream my name but no sound came, nothing asides from a loud ringing in my ears.
