Chapter 11 Found You, Princess.
NOELLE

“Something arrived in the mail, ma’am.” Tasha informed, passing a brown envelope to me as I went over the companies I had transferred to Carter, their finances and how they had been running in the past few years that I had been absent.

“Just drop it right there.” I pointed to the left side of my desk, subconsciously shifting some other files to make room.

“Actually boss, I think you'd want to look at it now.” She insisted and I finally lifted my eyes from my laptop, “It's from your husband.” She added and I snatched the brown file immediately.

Out of curiosity, of course. What else could it be?

As I tore it open, paper shreds fell out of the file and I picked up the pieces in confusion.

What the hell is this?

Did he— Or I...

I picked up one of the pieces and peered at it, trying to make out the words written on it.
‘Div’….I picked another. It looked like half of my signature.

Oh no, he didn't.

Did he seriously send paper shreds of the divorce agreement that I had signed? I guess he must have found out that I had not signed the original copy he had prepared for me which had ridiculous and overbearing clauses.

But it didn't matter, this marriage must be divorced whether he wanted it or not.

I sighed, tossing the file to the trash can in front of my table and continued looking over the companies financiers and shareholders.

That's when it dawned on me. Most of the companies had over 60 percent of the shares sold out to outsiders.

“Tasha, I just sent a document over to you. I need to find out the exact people who bought out most of the company shares.” Tasha nodded, working at her desk while I sent over the document to her email.

Carter had been set on screwing me over for a long while now. And soon, it would have been almost too late for me.

“Ma'am…this cash flow seems strange.” Tasha stated, in a hesitant voice. I looked up and she pursed her lips before continuing, “It looks like the same company bought out all the shares from all the companies in the listing.” Tasha enunciated and I sprung to my feet immediately.

“What?” I yelled in shock.

Buying tens of shares from over 4 companies with none of the shares from each below 30 percent, that was some real good money right there.

Who was that rich? To be able to purchase all of that.

“Find out who it is.” I demanded and Tasha nodded immediately.

“On it, boss but before checking, I do have a clue.” She dragged the words out and I almost slammed the table due to how slow she was talking as though she was counting her words.

What the fuck is this?? If she has something, she could just say it instead of leaving me in a great deal of suspense.

The suspense isn't exactly good for me. I might as well go mad first.

“Could it be possible that your husband might own this ‘new’ company and intentionally transferred the shares? These cash flow and finances seem real, too real that I have an eerie feeling about it. And it's an unnamed company.”

Carter! There was a lot of sense in that.

Buying that amount of shares would result in Billions of dollars, that amount was insanely too much even to speak of without wiping the lips properly.

There's absolutely no way.

It was definitely Carter. Besides, he was in charge of it anyways, everything was open road for him.

“Is there a way to contact the CEO of the company? If he's the one, we'll have to lure him out. Also, file a lawsuit against him for refusal of divorce and attempted murder.” I informed Tasha and she sprung into motion immediately.

“Oh. I sent an Email and the CEO already replied.” Tasha suddenly yelled out and I began walking over to her desk when she suddenly banged the desk.

“That's weird. The CEO is the one initiating the meeting.”

“Accept it.”

“He said he wants to meet this noon. He's in town.” I felt sharp chills crawl up my spine but I bit my lips and nodded.

“This noon? Why's he suddenly so interested in meeting? He never said anything when I hadn't reached out.” I thought out loud.

“And how convenient. He is actually in the same town as us when it's listed here that he bought the shares outside of the country using a representative? I strongly believe it is your husband.” Tasha added and I turned to her.

“Only the divorce papers aren't signed yet, Tasha. He is my EX husband.” I stressed and she made a ‘zip it’ motion with her fingers flinging the imaginary key over her shoulder.

“Where does he want to meet?” I asked.

If it was Carter, I had better be on my strongest guard. Who should I go with? Bodyguards? He probably knows I'm that smart and would skillfully deploy them.

“Ummm, his answer: Anywhere. I'll show up.”

“Do you know any really strict security personnel that could accompany me under guise?” She contemplated a few seconds before shaking her head in negativity.

“No. The ones in “Mr Alistair Vance Sterling” company which was formerly yours are our best security personnel. It would probably take a while to be able to recruit ones that are that good.” Her eyes lit up and she peered at me for a while, “Speaking of Mr Alistair Vance Sterling, you know you could tell him to go with you. I have a positive feeling he'll definitely agree.”

I glared at her and rolled my eyes.

“If that was supposed to be a tease, it's a really bad one. Tell him to send me a location and I'll be right there.” Just then, my laptop lit up with an incoming mail and I went to attend to it.

“Found you, Princess. It's been a minute since you and I have had a chat.” Those were the contents of the message.

I stared at the sender tag in shock.

I shut down my laptop immediately, pacing to and fro the office to make sure I wasn't dreaming or dying.

Did I see that wrong? I could feel my
heartbeat right in my ears. How many years has it been? How does he even still have my Email?
