Chapter 14

Megan POV

“So... you’re telling me, Mafia is a nickname your father and peers came up with because you always take the lead of your group?” I asked for the hundredth time.

“Yes, it is, Meg, I told you, my family has a history here.”

“Oh, but still Mr. Rhone, it makes you seem so...gangster,” We walked back to the spot we were standing after we helped the little girl find her mother.

“It does, and that's why I don't use it, and I trust you are going to keep this between us?” he questioned.

“Oh yes, I certainly will,” I chuckled.

“Oh really, just like you promised to keep your mouth shut about what you saw with Higgins and me,”

Shit! He knows.

“It was a mistake Anthony, I... I was angry because of the bet and...and please don't fire me,” I fell dead in my tracks while he continued to walk ahead.

“Fire you on what terms? Don't be silly Francis, it's alright. I know you and I know Higgins, she can be a nuisance sometimes,” He explained.

Running up next to him, “So you're not up with me?”

“No, I am not, your job is safe.”

I smiled inwardly, standing before the Eiffel Tower once more, its lights were extravagant, and its height was outstanding.

“I have only seen this in the movies you know, so I want to tell you, thank you.”

“You're my best employee, Ms. Francis, I forced you on a business trip, it's the least I can do.”

I smiled at his words because I don't know can a frigid man transforms into someone so sweet and thoughtful at times. I was growing fond of him, And the longer we spent in Paris, it's the harder I fall. Too bad once we get back to Florida this considerate man will cease to exist.

We stood next to each other, not saying a word, but just staring at the tower. Slowly the small crowds that gathered lessen and soon it will just us, and I am thinking about several to ride Anthony's coc...

“What are you thinking about Meg,” Anthony asked interrupting my thoughts.

“Nothing,” I said way too quickly, lying.

“Are you sure?”

“Yea, it's just the contract, it seems ok to me, but once we get back, I promise to rea…”

“Hey, no work talk, just enjoy the view.”

That's strange I noticed that he doesn't want to hear about the contract at all even though he was the one who initiated that I take a look at it.

“Ok,” I smiled widely at him.

“So...do you have a boyfriend?”

I blushed at his question, and I marveled at why he needed the response.

“Nope, no boyfriends here,” I chuckled nervously.

“I see, I am single as well.”

“Yeah right,” I scoffed.

“What?”

“Because I caught you the other day...balls buried deep in Higgins and all, and now you're saying you don't have a girlfriend”, I chuckled.

“Not because I am having sex with her means we are in a relationship, I've been single since... Stevie.”

I didn't know if it was jealousy or guilt, but my insides churned whenever her name was mentioned. I know I am not crazy; I saw her earlier and no one can tell me likewise. She appears to be hostile in her facial expression, probably thinking Anthony and I got together after she skipped Florida. I've grown to like Anthony, I have, but what if Stevie is to come back, in both of our lives, I don't want it to be awkward, but I have to learn to put myself first, seek my happiness.

“You don't have to feel bad you know,” I broke the silence.

“For what?”

“Stevie and I have been friends for a very long time, I can't even remember how long, it's like you wake up one and see someone who will be a part of whom you'll become forever. But we had our faults, Stevie gets carried away easily by her other friends she hangs with, and whenever they crush her in tiny chunks, I am always the one to piece her back together. So, our friendship was one-sided all along, so don't feel... Guilty, it was bound to fall apart anyway.”

“Megan?” he whispered.

“Yes?”

“I... like you, and it's not in a friendly way, I want to have a relationship with you.”

I was shocked by his words, I didn't know what to say, so I did the next best thing I could, I pulled him in and kissed him.

Moving our lips in a sequence, our tongues combated with each other, I am kissing Anthony Rhone, it wasn't our first time kissing, but it was the first I am the one kissing him.

The heavens must have been glad, because a single raindrop fell, landing on my forehead, resulting in me breaking the kiss.

I looked up and smiled, “It's about to rain.”

“Yes, and we need to leave,” Anthony pulled my arm as we ran back towards the car.

The ride our way home was silent, now I don't know if I made the right decision or I made them worse mistake of my life.

I didn't turn to look at him, I just kept gazing outside the window at the now pouring rain.

“Why are you so quiet?”

“I would ask you the same thing,” I hissed.

“What did I do?”

“Nothing, and that's the problem.”

“If it's about the kiss I'm sorry.”

“Yea, me too,” I mumbled.

Arriving at the house, I bolted out of the car, heading towards the door, I was being soaked from the rain, but I didn't care.

“Meg, wait,” I felt him grabbing my shoulders.

“I am sorry, ok. I don't know what you wanted me to do or say, but I am sorry,” we both were standing in the middle of the driveway, as the rain dribbled down.

I hauled his shirt towards me, kissing him once more, I was heated, and I needed to feel him inside me,

He braced me against the door, hoisting my left leg around his waist, he searched for the doorknob as we kissed, our breaths were deep, and we were anxious.

Finally, the door swung opened, the house wasn't dark, but it had a faint light enough for us to see each other. Anthony pulled off his wet shirt and I began to take off my soaked dress, exposing my red laced undergarments.

Anthony stared at me, pulling me back in for slower kissing than before.

“Well... Well... Well, isn't it the incredible CEO and his... recent P. A,” a familiar voice muttered.

“Higgins...how did you get in here,” Anthony growled.

Slowly she approached us emerging from the dark, “Well hello to you too sweetheart,” Higgins retorted.
