CHAPTER 49

Bethel remained in hee room. She was either sketching new designs in her sketch pad or trying her auntie's number. Even when she was so hungry, she didn't have the courage to go downstairs for lunch. It's past lunch time and almost dinner time and she never had the courage to leave her room even when the whole mansion is in a celebration mood, she remained in her room. She doesn't feel comfortable enough to dine with Emma, Evelyn and Mrs Crown without Harry and Angel's presence.

After all, she is just a nanny.

Her ringing phone jolts her out of her thoughts. She left her sketch pad and hurried to answer the call. It was a private number, she picked up immediately hoping it would be one of her aunt.

"Hello" her voice came calm.

"Namaste" she heard from the other end of the line and a smile played on her lip. She has finally got to speak with one if her aunt after several days of trying.

"Aunt, it's Bethel. Bethel, your tomorrow younger cousin, Bethel Atwood" she tried to explain herself. The call got disconnected. She dialed the line again, it wasn't connecting.

She sighed sadly and dropped the phone, hoping to get a call soon. If not for anything, just for her to help Harry get cure to his addiction.

Not knowing what to do again, she paced to and fro in her room, hoping to get a call in the next minutes but none was forthcoming.

"Oh God, I need a miracle!" She teethered as she sat her butt on the soft couch in her room.

She loosen the pins in her hair wildly and made it fall to the base of her butt. She had the intention of going to bed without dinner since she lack the courage to go downstairs. Sylvia had come earlier to her room to give to her Angel's birthday cake which she ate immediately.

She was about undressing when she heard the sound of Harry's car driving in. From the gate to the mansion is just a 30minute drive. To be sure it was him, Bethel went to the window in her room to check, sure it was him she left the window immediately and didn't bother undressing her saree. She had worn a red saree because she promised Angel she would do that on her birthday.

And it suite her perfectly. What's more, she is an Indian girl.

She stepped out of her room to receive Angel whom Harry carried out of the back seat. Emma and Evelyn where there to receive her as well. She wasn't forward so she stayed back, she would step forward of it's necessary.

"Come here, baby!" Evelyn was the first to take Angel from Harry, Bethel need no one to tell her the little girl had a of fun.

While the family played with Angel, Harry had his eyes on Bethel and he couldn't ignore the fact that he felt jitters. It was his first time seeing her in a saree and she looked so hot.

"Welcome, Master" Bethel said when he noticed his stares on her. She doesn't want his sister's and mother to see her as a gold digger but what they don't know is that she is just helping him because of his addiction.

"Bethel.." Harry said, stunned by her looks. They stared at each other for long minutes.

Evelyn saw the way they stared at each other and scoffed menacingly, making them to to break their eyes lock..

Bethel stepped forward immediately,"I will take Angel in" she mouthed.

"Thought you've forgotten your duties!" Emma chipped in. Bethel smiled even when those words got to her.

She carried Angel in her arms.

Angel was looking so exhausted that Bethel had to put her in bed immediately.

She walked out of Angel's room and gently closed the door behind her.

She's damn hungry, she needs to go join others in the dining room for dinner.

They are eating already.

She didn't had lunch and can't skip dinner again.

The bodyguards stood by the door of the dining room while she walked in.

They've all started eating, except Harry who was obviously waiting for her.

She was touched and she felt her heart reach out to him more.

She didn't notice Emma and Mrs Crown's gaze on her.

They were wondering what she was doing in Harry's private dining room.

"Thanks for waiting" Bethel said to Harry before sitting beside him.

"What!" Mrs Crown exclaimed startling everyone.

"What do you want?" Emma asked Bethel who looked confused.

"She dines here" one of the maids said.

"Who gave that rule?" Evelyn asked, obviously annoyed.

"I did" Harry said, urging Bethel to start eating but she couldn't.

She couldn't even bring herself to dish out the meal.

"This isn't happening! Harry, you want me to dine with a nanny?" Mrs Crown asked, looking insulted.

Harry sighed..."And what's wrong in being a nanny?"

"This isn't happening!" Mrs Crown dropped her spoon loudly.

"Brother, It's highly disrespectful of her to eat on the same table with mother" Evelyn said.

"Why is it disrespectful? She didn't bring herself here! I personally told her i want her to always dine with me and she always have and Angel is fine with it" Harry said as gently as he could.

He doesn't want to yell.

"She needs to get up and leave now, i can't dine on the same table with her" Mrs Crown said.

"Yeah" Emma sighed.

Bethel's hands trembled as she slowly stood up.

"Sit!" Harry said in a tone she has never heard him use before.

He seems pissed.

"Sit" He said in a calmer tone.

"Please" He added to the surprise of Evelyn and Mrs Crown.

"I can just go have dinner in the kitchen, I'll be fine" Bethel said.

"No, you're having your dinner here. Sit" Harry said and she finally did.

After all Harry is her boss not Mrs Crown or Evelyn

"Mum! This is my house, I'm sorry to say this but you're not entitled to oppose to how i treat my staff, i employed her and i want her to always dine with me, even Angel hadn't complained. I can invite whomever i want to my dining room. It's my dining room" Harry stated clearly.

Mrs Crown sighed knowing she can't get Harry to change his mind, she only fumed as she continued eating.

"But she wasn't here for lunch! Why did she suddenly wants to dine with us now. Because you're here?" Evelyn rolled her eyes.

"Because she wasn't comfortable with you guys, you've not been nice to her since you arrived and to think she has been looking so forward to meeting you made it worst" Harry said.

"I can't believe you want us to be nice to her despite what Angel's past nannies have done and why was she looking forward to meet us, is there any motive behind it?" Evelyn asked, facing Bethel who had her eyes glued to the table.

She never expected all these... it's just so much to take in.

"She's not Angel's past nannies neither is she Steph! She's different" Harry said.

"And she was looking so forward to meet you cause i told her a lot about you. Stop being rude! Eat! And go to bed!".

"Dish out your meal Bethel and eat up" Harry said.

"Ohh.. okay" Bethel said.

Harry stroke her hair, hoping that'll make her feel better and it did! she felt incredibly better.

"What!" Evelyn mouthed while Mrs Crown just stared.

Isabella, the help standing behind was not surprised, knowing Bethel and Harry felt something for eachother.

"And how was your day with Angel, she seemed tired but happy" Bethel smiled, returning to her old self.

Harry's hands really does magic.

"It was totally great, we had a nice time, she said she can't wait to show you the pictures tomorrow" Harry smiled.

"I can't wait too" Bethel smiled.

"And you're yet to show her her ballet room.. she'll be so happy" Bethel said.

"Yes, and she really likes the dress you made for her. I want you to make more of it for her and let me know the price" Harry said.

Bethel nodded, knowing she'll never charge Harry for anything.

He has done so much for her and she'll feel ungrateful to charge him for just making dresses for Angel.

"I..." Bethel was saying.

"You must be so tired" Evelyn said to Harry, cutting in. She doesn't like the way her brother gets along with his daughter's nanny.

"Not really" Harry said.

"But i won't mind some of your massages though" Harry added and Evelyn laughed.

She looked like a sweet soul when laughing and Bethel wondered why she's being treated this way.

Well... she's starting to understand it's probably because of the way Angel's past nannies had been.

But she's not them.

"Evelyn, when i saw you, i thought you were a striking model who'd appear on the cover of a magazine without question, you're so beautiful" Bethel said before she could stop herself and Evelyn looked surprised.

She never thought the lady would compliment her beauty despite how mean she has been to her.

She must admit she's a bit touched but that won't make her soften towards her.

it might be part of her strategy.

She's not gonna get her like she got Harry and Angel.

"A lot of people says am beautiful... nothing is special about you saying it" Evelyn shrugged. Bethel bit her lower lip in embarrassment. Harry saw it and before he could say anything, Bethel pack her plate and stood.

"Thanks for the meal" she said and left the dinning area immediately.

Harry felt so disappointed, he lost his appetite and started picking on his meal.
