Chapter 58 Beta Ian’s Proposal

Ian called upon Sophia again and begged her to take them to that place. Sophia teleported them to the beyond where they discovered the only way to release Isabella from duty was if he marries Isabella. Sophia and Ian left for Mount Olympus.

As Ian and Sophia materialized in the divine realm of Mount Olympus, the air crackled with electric energy that set Ian’s heart racing. The towering marble columns gleamed under the sun's radiant light, and the atmosphere pulsed with the whispers of gods and goddesses going about their eternal business. Ian and Sophia's presence was announced, and they stood before Zeus. Ian asked Zeus to marry Isabella. Zeus told Ian that Isabella would be released from duty, but Ian needed Selene the moon goddess’ approval. They must get her permission.

“Let’s find Mother Selene,” Sophia urged, scanning the glorious expanse. They made their way through the bustling courtyard until they finally found the moon goddess standing gracefully beside a shimmering fountain, her silver hair cascading like a waterfall of stars. Their presence was announced before Selene, and she called a meeting with her daughters.

Selene turned her gaze toward them, her pale blue eyes reflecting wisdom and compassion. “What brings you here, seekers?” she asked, her voice smooth like velvet.

Ian stepped forward, summoning all his courage. “Goddess Selene, we seek your guidance regarding Isabella. They proposed that Isabella would be wed to Ian and all the sisters should share the duty of balancing light and darkness alternately one day in each year. Isabella would be released from her duties and spend time with her spouse. We believe the only way to release her from her responsibilities is for me to marry her.”

Selene’s expression softened as she listened intently. “Such devotion is rare among mortals. But what you propose will require the agreement of her sisters, for they hold the balance of light and darkness within them.”

Sophia added, “If the sisters could alternate their duties, then Isabella would be free to embrace love and life without losing her connection to her sisters’ powers.”

Selene nodded thoughtfully. “Very well. I will arrange a meeting with the sisters. They must understand the gravity of this proposal.” She raised her hands, and a silvery light enveloped them.

In an instant, they found themselves in a moonlit grove where her three hundred and sixty-four plus Sophia appeared, ethereal and poised, emanating an aura of ancient power.

“What do you seek from us?” They asked. Ian took a deep breath, the weight of the moment pressing on him. “I seek to marry Isabella, to offer her a life beyond her duties. In return, we propose a new system: that each sister share the responsibility of balancing light and darkness every day.”

Eos, the goddess of dawn, exchanged glances with her sisters, intrigue sparking in her eyes. “Isabella carries a heavy burden. To share it could bring harmony not just to her but to all of us.”

Aetheria, the embodiment of twilight, considered the proposal. “But what if one of us falters? The balance must be maintained; otherwise, chaos will reign.”

Sophia stepped in, her voice steady. “By choosing to alternate duties, you give each of your strengths a chance to shine, ensuring that no one person bears the weight of the world alone. The union between Isabella and Ian would potentially strengthen all of you.”

After a moment of silence, Nyx spoke again, her tone contemplative. “We require time to deliberate. The decision of the cosmos cannot be taken lightly. However… for Isabella’s sake, we will consider your proposal.”

Selene nodded in agreement. “Let the light of the full moon guide your hearts in this decision. We will convene under its glow in three nights’ time.”

As they prepared to leave, Ian felt a surge of hope. He knew the path ahead was laden with challenges, but he had faith that love could bridge the gap between worlds. Grasping Sophia’s hand, they returned to the mortal realm, where he would prepare not just for the proposal but for a future entwined with Isabella—a future that held the promise of light and darkness harmoniously balanced.

Selene granted their wish by agreeing to the proposal under one condition: once every year all the sisters would come together to account for the day they balanced light and darkness. Elizabeth agreed but on one condition. She said Mother I want to lead the meeting. They all agreed all 365 sisters would meet once every year, on full moon when their mother Selene balances light and darkness.

When the meeting convened, these decisions were made. Selene nodded, understanding the weight of Elizabeth’s request. “Very well,” she replied, her voice resonating with authority and grace. “On the night of the full moon each year, you shall all gather to honor the balance that binds you together. ”As she spoke, a shimmering vision of the moonlit gathering appeared before them. They could see the sisters, 365 in total, standing in a great circle under the luminous full moon, each representing a unique aspect of light and darkness—together creating a tapestry of harmony.

“Let the full moon be a symbol of your unity,” Selene continued. “During this meeting, you will reflect upon the past year, sharing stories of growth and challenges, and reaffirming your commitment to balance. It is a sacred time for both remembrance and celebration.”

Ian felt a sense of relief wash over him as the conditions were set. “Thank you, Selene,” he said earnestly. “This means everything to us.”

Sophia added, “With this agreement, Isabella will finally be free to live her life without the burden of constant duty. And the sisters will have a chance to reconnect and strengthen their bond.”

Elizabeth, her resolve firm, interjected, “I ask only one more thing—a reminder that this gathering is not merely a formality. We must cherish our connection and learn from one another, ensuring we do not lose sight of our purpose.”

Selene smiled warmly at her daughter. “Wisdom often comes from shared experiences, and I can see that you all are ready to embrace this journey. Go forth now, and may your love and the bonds of sisterhood guide you.”

With that, Selene raised her hands once more, casting her silvery light around Ian, Sophia, Elizabeth, Isabella, and Amanda. In a flash, they were transported back to their world, filled with hope and excitement for the future.

As they stood beneath the starry sky, Ian took a deep breath, looking at Sophia. “We have a chance to change our destinies,” he said, feeling the gravity of their new pact.

“Yes,” Sophia agreed, her eyes sparkling with determination. “And together, we’ll ensure that the balance of light and darkness remains strong.”

Elizabeth nodded, her heart swelling with hope. “Let’s begin planning for our gathering. We have much work ahead, but it will be worth it to see our sister free and happy.”

As they gazed at the rising moon, they felt the presence of Selene watching over them, guiding them towards a brighter future where love, unity, and balance would reign supreme.
