Chapter 552 Lost and Found
She could put up with Daniel's mistakes, but she couldn't forgive him for what he did to their child.
That was her child. How could Daniel give their child to Ava?
Olivia pulled back her trembling hand, her eyes empty. "Even if you tell me the truth now, I won't forgive you."
"I never expected you to, Olivia. I just want you to have no regrets."
Daniel sighed deeply, a faint pink handprint still visible on his cheek, making him look a bit disheveled.
Olivia's emotions were all over the place; she could hardly make sense of what she was feeling.
If it weren't for Daniel, she wouldn't have been separated from Nolan for so long.
But it all seemed like fate's doing.
Olivia didn't have time to dwell on the years of separation. She had only one wild thought in her mind: her three children were still alive!
Tears welled up in Olivia's eyes as she looked at Daniel, but she couldn't bring herself to hit him again.
If it weren't for Daniel's illness, she wouldn't have let him off so easily.
Thinking about how she almost made a terrible mistake, Olivia felt a wave of fear.
She had been jealous of Ava for having two children and had once thought about taking action at Nolan's birthday party.
But at the last moment, she held back.
Olivia couldn't imagine the nightmare that would have awaited her if she hadn't been brought back to her senses by Nolan that day.
She had almost killed her own child!
And it was all because of Daniel.
Olivia looked at Daniel with hatred in her eyes. Daniel understood her thoughts and sincerely admitted his mistake. "I wanted to get back at you at the time. Later, I realized how wrong my choice was. I don't expect your forgiveness; I just hope you can treat Nolan well."
That child was so well-behaved. No matter how cold Olivia was, he always approached her with a smile.
Olivia had often fantasized that Nolan was her child.
Now that her dream had come true, she still found it hard to believe.
Her first child was still alive. This wasn't a dream.
"I used to tolerate Ava for Axel's sake, but I never thought my concessions would fuel her ambition. Ava wanted more and more, including Blossom Healthcare Hospital, which I built for you, the Starry Night dress, and the beach house. She wouldn't let you have anything. My remaining guilt towards her has faded."
"In short, I won't have any more sympathy for her. You can rest assured."
In the past, when he said "rest assured," Olivia always felt comforted. But now, her attention wasn't on Daniel at all.
"You've been through so much. How is Nolan? Is he okay?"
She remembered the last time Nolan was pushed down the stairs at the hospital. It was clearly intentional.
Knowing Nolan was her child made Olivia's heart soar. She couldn't wait to see him.
"He has a talent for martial arts. I sent him to a special training base. As a Wilson family child, this is his destiny."
Daniel spoke lightly, but Olivia couldn't stay calm. "He's just a few years old. How can you be so cruel?"
Making a child that young undergo training was inhumane!
Daniel raised his hand, his rough fingers gently stroking the back of Olivia's hand. "When I first met you, I thought about getting out of the dangerous stuff. But that didn't work out. Now, I'm in too deep, Olivia. I have to climb higher to protect you and the kids."
"The Wilson family business needs an heir. If it's not Nolan, it'll be Philip or Alicia. I'd rather train the boys than put Alicia through that hell."
Olivia had been through assassin training and knew how brutal it was. She didn't want Alicia to be in danger.
But Nolan and Philip were also her children.
Olivia's palm unconsciously tightened. Daniel pried her fingers open one by one, a bitter smile on his lips. "I've never been with another woman, and I never will. The Wilson family heir can only be your child."
Hearing this, Olivia felt suffocated.
Would she and her children be trapped in this endless struggle forever?
Sunlight streamed through the window. Olivia glanced at the beautiful scenery outside, her emotions a tangled mess.
"You can stay here for a week. After that, I'll send you away." Daniel said seriously.
Olivia looked up at him and finally asked the question that had been troubling her the most.
"You've hidden your identity so well all these years. Why were you suddenly exposed?"
Wesley hadn't said it outright, but Olivia could tell from his words that Daniel had used a code name during his missions. No one should have seen his face.
Those people had been taken down. How did this information get out?
This was clearly a conspiracy.
Olivia wasn't afraid of conflict; she feared the enemy in the shadows, forcing them to be on the defensive.
"Olivia, sometimes being too smart isn't a good thing."
Daniel placed the bandages in her hand. "This isn't something you need to worry about. Help me bandage up."
Olivia felt like she was holding her breath, unable to release it. "This concerns your life and our child. I just want to find the mastermind."
Daniel had a rough idea. If it was what he thought, Olivia was in great danger.
With two dangerous people together, Daniel couldn't reveal the truth.
"This involves too many people. Even if I told you, you couldn't solve it. I just want you to live simply and happily."
Olivia understood his meaning. She opened the gauze and evenly spread it on Daniel's back.
She silently vowed to uncover the truth one day.
As soon as she pressed the gauze on Daniel's back, he winced and let out a small cry.
Olivia's fingers trembled in fear. She quickly looked at him with concern. "Did I hurt you?"
Olivia was skilled at bandaging, but she hadn't practiced in a long time and was distracted, so mistakes were possible.
"It's fine. Keep going. It doesn't hurt."
Daniel didn't intend to admit it, but Olivia thought he was just being stoic. She lightened her touch.
Her mind was too chaotic to realize that Daniel, who could endure surgery without anesthesia, wouldn't be bothered by this pain.
After carefully finishing the bandaging, Olivia sat on the bed.
These seven days would likely be their last time together. After a week, Daniel would recover, handle the assassination attempt, and Olivia would return to the island to reunite with Lila.
