Chapter 21 Fallen for her
Today, Lambert had arranged to discuss business matters with a business acquaintance here, in the private room on the second floor. However, unexpectedly, he witnessed a surprising scene downstairs in the lobby.
Lambert had previously lamented the lack of successors for the ZQ Group, but he never imagined that Lydia was the granddaughter of the late Elijah.
Watching that woman, as beautiful as a rose, slowly arming herself with the thorns on her body to defend her rights was astonishing, breathtaking.
Afterwards, the delicate flower appeared soft and worrisome. The surge of sadness in her eyes was intense and unyielding.
Without much thought, in that moment, Lambert set aside all his pride accumulated over the years. He even disregarded his typically calm demeanor.
Without finishing their business discussion, he dashed downstairs from the second floor.
It was because he noticed the vulnerability hidden in Lydia’s eyes. He… pitied her!
Amidst Lydia’s surprise, she was somewhat flustered. Hastily wiping away the tears at the corners of her eyes, she managed a somewhat forced smile, “What a coincidence, you’re here too?”
Lambert’s breath calmed down. There was still little expression on his handsome, aloof face, but Lydia saw the concern in his eyes. It shook her to the core, and her eyes gradually reddened as a surge of grievance overwhelmed her.
Like a child wronged, seeing her parents, she wanted a hug.
Lambert reached out and pulled Lydia into his embrace. In that moment, her wildly beating heart gradually calmed down. At that moment, Lambert knew clearly that he had fallen in love with this
woman!
This sudden, warm embrace gave Lydia strength. It also seemed to open up the gap of grievances within her. The tears, which had already stopped, couldn’t help but fall once again.
Neither of them spoke. Lambert half embraced Lydia’s waist and led her to his car. The black Maybach sped away from the “Queen Hotel“.
By the time Lydia came to her senses, she found herself in front of a villa. The white European–style villa looked fresh and natural. The walls of the villa were even covered with white roses.
Lydia turned to look at Lambert, surprise evident in her eyes. He rarely displayed such warmth. ” Welcome to my home,” he said, a rare warmth touching his smile.

He personally opened the car door for Lydia and led her inside, holding her hand all the way.
Contrary to Lydia’s expectations, the villa was very cozy inside. Its simple design gave it a tasteful vibe.
Lydia was taken aback.
It was hard to imagine the seemingly indifferent Lambert living in such a warm place.
Perhaps sensing Lydia’s doubts, Lambert reached out and touched her hair. “People always
subconsciously crave warmth and comfort. I bought this after I came of age. Whenever I’m feeling down, I
come here. I think it might be helpful for you too.”
Lydia felt a warmth in her heart, thinking about her previous outburst. She felt a bit embarrassed and
quickly changed the subject, murmuring a quiet “Thank you.”
Lambert’s eyes softened, tinged with tenderness. His tone also carried a hint of indulgence. “There’s no
need for thanks between us.”
Lydia couldn’t help but feel a little disappointed at his words.
A friend she had recently made could comfort her in her sadness, yet her family, who had intricate ties to
her, were willing to harm her and her mother for wealth. It was truly sad!
Seeing the light fading from Lydia’s eyes, Lambert furrowed his brows slightly. After a moment of
thought, he took Lydia’s hand. “Would you like to take a tour?”
Though Lydia was immersed in her emotions, she knew she couldn’t be too rude in someone else’s home.
So, she hesitated a bit before asking, “Is it okay?”
“Of course.”
Leading her upstairs, Lambert showed Lydia around. She found the second floor to be even more elegant and comfortable.
Every detail reflected the homeowner’s careful design, exuding a sense of home.
Lydia couldn’t help but think that someone who lived in such a place must be someone who yearned for warmth.
She couldn’t resist turning to look at Lambert. His usually aloof face had softened considerably due to the warmth in his eyes.
His warm hand enveloped hers, as if he wanted to encompass all her emotions.
At a corner of the second floor balcony, there was a black piano. Lambert led Lydia to sit by the piano, his hand resting on her shoulder.
His deep voice rang out, “Would you like to play? I heard music can dispel sorrow.”

Lydia felt embarrassed. Although she had learned a bit under her mother’s influence when she was younger, she hadn’t touched a piano since her mother passed away.
Thinking of her mother’s tragic end, she couldn’t help but feel melancholic. “Sorry, I’m not very good.”
Lambert looked down at her. Her eyes, still swollen from crying, still had traces of tears at the corners.
The blue color in her eyes made her look weary, her state not too good. But somehow, this woman touched his heartstrings, causing him to willingly immerse himself in her.
Lambert suddenly embraced Lydia from behind, his strong arms holding her hands. His fingers gently
covered hers, intertwining like lovers.
With a warm breath carrying an irresistible scent, he whispered, “It’s okay, I can teach you.”
His long and strong fingers, along with Lydia’s slightly cold fingertips, danced on the black and white keys of the piano. (1)
Beautiful music flowed from their fingertips, ethereal and captivating. It seemed to transport Lydia to another world, making her forget her troubles, her hatred, and the tangled past.
Lambert’s gaze was deep, his face devoid of much expression, as if he were merely earnestly teaching the
girl in front of him how to play the piano.
But only he knew that, at the moment he embraced Lydia, his heart sighed in contentment.
As the piece ended, Lydia sat there in a daze, tears filling her eyes. She turned slowly, burying her head in
Lambert’s chest, finally unable to hold back her sobs.
Lambert stood there quietly, letting her tears wet his clothes. His brow furrowed slightly, his heart aching.
Perhaps it had been suppressed for too long, or perhaps the gentleness of this aloof man had thoroughly touched Lydia, causing her to release the grievances and pains she had buried for years.
In the end, Lydia didn’t know how long she had cried. She just felt heavy and exhausted, lacking even the strength to move a finger, and fell asleep in Lambert’s arms.
Lambert carried her horizontally, gently placing her on the large bed in his room. Afraid of waking her, he maintained the posture of holding her and lay down beside her.
Lydia didn’t sleep soundly. Her eyes were tightly closed, tears glistening on her long lashes. Her petite nose was red, her delicate brows still furrowed.
Lambert couldn’t help but lower his head, kissing away the tears at the corners of her eyes.
Although he was unwilling to admit it, the fact was, he had completely fallen for her!
