Chapter 74 Chapter Seventy-Four
Raikin reaches out grabbing my wrist. He gently pulls me towards him, until I am so close I can feel his breath on my face. “Look at me baby.” He says in a commanding tone that leaves no room for disobedience.
I look up, and he smiles at me. “Baby, I am so sorry.” His tone softens and he rubs my wrist with his thumb, making me feel a little less anxious. “I am so, so sorry baby. Please forgive me baby.”
He’s sorry? I should be the one who says sorry. I was the one that was out all night with Logan, I was the one that made him feel like he couldn’t trust me. “Why are you sorry?” I whisper, still not sure why he is apologizing.
Raikin sighs. “I should have never snapped at you baby or talked to you the way I did earlier. I should have given you a chance to explain. No, I should have asked why you were out all night with Logan. Instead of just assuming you were fucking around. You promised you wouldn’t sleep with anyone except us, and I should have trusted you baby. I am so sorry.” Raikin rambles on and I can’t help but smile.
“I forgive you.” I say, leaning up to kiss him. Just one soft kiss, the way I kissed Reece just a minute ago.
Raikin’s face lights up with relief. “Really baby?”
I nod my head, smiling. “Yes, Raikin I forgive you. I am sorry I was out all night with Logan. I shouldn’t have gone with him. I should have just told you guys I was upset and feeling alone. I just didn’t want you guys to think I was being clingy or something.”
Raikin shakes his head. “No baby, we would never think you were being clingy. In fact, I want you to be clingy. I also want you to know you can come to us no matter what the problem is. Especially if you are upset because of something we did baby. I need you to trust us enough to come to us with anything. Okay baby?”
I nod my head. “From now on I will Raikin, I promise.”
Raikin cups my cheek, rubbing it with his thumb. “I love you baby.”
I feel a rush of happiness. “I love you too Raikin.”
Knowing my guys don’t hate me, feels like winning the lottery. Raikin leans down to kiss me again but pulls away when Reece practically yells. “Hey Dad.”
My eyes go wide. Holy shit that was a close one. What if their dad had seen us kissing? How the hell would we have explained that?
I look over at Curtis, who is staring at me and Raikin. “Hey Curtis.” I say, not really sure what else to say.
“Hey Lilly.” Curtis says, narrowing his eyes at Raikin. “What are you guys doing?” He asks.
“We are talking.” Raikin lies smoothly.
Curtis looks at me and back to Raikin. “What are you guys talking about?”
Reece is the next one to throw out a lie. How do they lie to their dad so easily? “We were asking Lilly how her date with Logan went last night.”
My eyes go wide. My date with Logan? What if Curtis asks about my date? What am I supposed to say? I spent the whole night out with Logan, at some cabin staring at the stars. He probably wouldn’t believe that. He would probably think me and Logan were fucking too.
“You went on a date with Logan?” Curtis asks, and I swear my mouth has never felt so dry.
I nod my head, shifting from foot to foot nervously. “Umm, yeah. We just drove around and did some star gazing. Nothing to special.” I say, which is not technically a lie. Hopefully I made it sound believable.
Curtis smiles. “That sounds like fun. Do you have plans on going out with him again?” He asks, sounding a little too eager.
I shrug my shoulders. “We talked about maybe going out on another date, but we didn’t make any specific plans.”
I see Raikin tense up out of the corner of my eye. Looks like he isn’t completely over the whole me and Logan thing yet. Maybe we need to discuss our relationship rules some more. I don’t want him to be upset every time I hang out with Logan. If he doesn’t want me to be friends with him anymore, he just needs to tell me that.
Curtis’ smile gets even wider. “That sounds fantastic. I’m glad your date went well. I hope you guys have fun on your next one as well.”
Why is he trying to force another date with Logan on me? Last night wasn’t even really a date. The boys were just using that as an excuse, since he almost caught me and Raikin kissing.
“Umm, thanks Curtis. I hope so too.”
Curtis smiles and gives his boys a strange look. Almost like a victory smile or something? But what would Curtis have won? That whole interaction was just really strange.
