It's time for dinner, Aneska waits for Edwin to come down from his room. Kira had sent a servant to inform them that dinner would start soon, so they were expected to arrive soon.
While waiting, Aneska's mind returned to the question asked by Edwin.
"Hopefully it's not a decision that makes me regret it later," muttered Aneska.
There was the sound of footsteps coming down the stairs, Aneska stepped forward until Edwin saw her. The man had changed clothes so he looked fresher than before.
"You are okay?" Once again Aneska asked.
Edwin gave a small nod and invited Aneska to the main house at his mother's invitation.
Every time Aneska left or entered the house, David was always there, and Aneska watched for a while but Edwin didn't care what Aneska was doing. David's character managed to steal Aneska's attention because the man had difficulty trusting Aneska.
A few moments later, Aneska followed Edwin who was waiting on the path leading to the main house.
“Do you like eating back and forth?” Aneska asked beside Edwin.
"Usually I eat at my house," Edwin answered back to his cold figure.
"You cooked it yourself?"
"No. The servant brought it from the main house," answered Edwin again.
"No wonder, there aren't many cooking ingredients in your refrigerator. "There are only cooking ingredients for emergencies," commented Aneska.
Edwin didn't respond and continued walking.
Now Aneska knows what to do without being reminded. But this time Aneska just needs to be herself, even though she is hesitant to meet Alendra. For some reason, the man's aura was stronger than Edwin's. There was a murderous look that Alendra had.
"Finally you've come, Aneska," said Kira, smiling broadly and with both hands outstretched.
"Hello," answered Aneska, still used to Kira's attitude.
"Come on, let's sit down," Kira directed Aneska towards the dining table where Alendra was already sitting sweetly in his place like a king.
Aneska looked at the many dishes on the table, wondering whether Kira had prepared them all for her or what.
“Come on, don't hesitate. I prepared this especially to welcome you. So, eat so that you will be healthy as a mother in the future," said Kira happily.
Hearing Kira's words, even though they weren't clear, Aneska glanced at Edwin who was sitting in the opposite chair. The man looked at Aneska with raised eyebrows.
Kira demanded, clearly unable to hide his feelings of happiness at Aneska's presence. It seemed Kira had been longing for the presence of a girl, or something.
They ate slowly, and Kira didn't say anything while he ate, but couldn't hide his smile. Alendra just smiled a little seeing his wife who was so happy. There is a possibility that Aneska will be spoiled by Kira.
After dinner was over, they moved to talk. Kira didn't let go of Aneska, it was undeniable that the girl felt relieved, she just had to compensate and get used to Kira's attitude and treatment.
“Because I made plans a long time ago. You know why you're here, don't you, Aneska?” Alendra asked after they had been in the living room for a while.
Kira sat to the left of Aneska, but not far from Alendra.
"Yes, to marry Edwin," answered Aneska.
"Let me explain a little why you are here," said Alendra. "Your father and mother applied for a large loan from us because their business was on the verge of bankruptcy. After studying their proposal, we agreed to it. for that, and some of them are ours. However, the company was on the verge of bankruptcy due to the actions of irresponsible hands, and in the end, it could no longer be saved," explained Alendra.
Aneska was silent when she heard this. This was the first time Aneska found out because neither her father nor mother told her at all, only Anevay, Aneska's sister, said that her family's condition was not good, but Aneska didn't expect it to be that bad.
“Their loan was too big, and they applied to us for another loan. We didn't ask for a payment, it's just that your father came to offer a deal," said Alendra.
Aneska waited for the continuation of the story by holding Kira's hand, hoping not to hear anything disappointing.
“They offered their daughter. At first, I didn't accept it, but thinking about my wife who was lonely because Edwin was already grown up, and had no siblings at all, or even a lover, I considered it and finally decided to accept it. But initially, it wasn't you, but a daughter named Anevay that I chose, the girl was sweet and looked cheerful, I thought she would be suitable for my wife to take care of as a child," Alendra continued to explain. the reason Aneska was there was so as not to misunderstand any further.
Aneska's hands were clenched as she didn't think her adoptive father and mother would have the heart to make such an offer. In the end, it was Aneska who they gave it to.
“Because your father came, I don't think your father discussed it with your mother first. I agreed to the offer,- and provided additional funds as per our agreement. Then, I didn't expect that it was you who came, not Anevay. I clearly remember that girl's face," admitted Alendra.
No one interrupted what the man was about to say.
“I don't need to ask what they mean, but clearly, they are making you collateral. In other words, you have been sold to us. Therefore, now this is your home, Kira is your mother. It's up to you what you want to call me. But because you are over twenty years old, I thought of making you Edwin's wife. Sorry for taking a unilateral decision. But that's the plan I made." Alendra finished his explanation and gave Aneska time to digest it.
Does any family have a heart like that? Just because Aneska is an adopted child doesn't mean she can be treated like that. Aneska wanted to cry because her heart ached for their treatment, even though Aneska had not received money for her studies since Anevay was born. All affection belongs to the girl.
Kira hugged Aneska gently as her shoulders began to shake from crying.
"It's okay, just cry, dear," said Kira, gently rubbing Aneska's back and head, who finally cried in the warm embrace of a woman who had great love as a mother.
Edwin just watched while looking at Aneska concerned. Likewise Alendra. This became a painful reality for Aneska, who had just learned about the nature of her adoptive family. They were the ones who took Aneska first.
After feeling calmer, Alendra handed over a folder on the table and handed it to Aneska.
"That's the valid data that your father gave you on the day of pick-up," said Alendra.
Aneska didn't need to check whether that would only make her heart hurt more.
"And you have to sign this," said Alendra again, pushing another folder on the table.
“What is that, my husband?” Kira asked.
"Marriage certificate. That way, you will legally be Edwin's wife in the eyes of the law," explained Alendra.
Aneska's gaze was fixed on the folder, would she sign it or not? If Aneska makes that decision, then she won't be able to leave the house.
Without hesitation, Aneska took a pen signed her name on the paper, and officially became Edwin's wife without any party or blessing, but that didn't matter.
