Chapter291
He was just standing by the car, looking in her direction.
She waved her hand.
“I’m home.” Stephanie texted him.

“Yeah, I saw it.” He replied to the voice message with a smile.
Then, neither of them sent any messages, they just looked at each other like that, one on the balcony upstairs, the other downstairs.”
Finally, he said, “Go back, the wind on the balcony was strong.”
So, after he watched her go back, he drove away.
Stephanie stood at home, thinking. She peeked out again. Lennon’s car was already gone.
In the past, she always waited at home for Maxwell to come back.
I often waited until really late.
Back then…
It was really a kind of magical feeling.

Stephanie thought about it and went to the sink to wash her face. That made her feel a bit steadier.
She changed into slippers and sat on the sofa. After thinking for a bit she called Jeremiah.
It didn’t take long before Jeremiah picked up.

He’d been busy these days with the Conway Group’s internal fights. Ever since it came out that Serena was Stephanie, Stephanie won the championship, “The Ethereal Voice” blew up, and Jeremiah’s value kept going up, the boss and the second–in–command couldn’t sit still. They kept giving him trouble these days.
“Steph.” Jeremiah finally got a break and slumped on the couch.
“Jeri, did you see the news today?” Stephanie turned on the TV and said to Jeremiah.
“Speaking of this just makes me mad!” Jeremiah snapped, “Maxwell is unbelievable, I’ve never seen a guy so shameless. He protects Roxanne so much, why doesn’t he just tattoo ‘Roxanne‘ on his forehead!”
Stephanie felt a little warm inside.
Although Jeremiah was always pretty grumpy and sometimes thought with his butt instead of his brain, he really was a helpful guy.
I always stood by my friend.
She even felt happier just hearing him curse a couple of times.
After hearing Jeremiah curse a few more times, Stephanie finally started talking business.
“Jeri, I needed your help with something,” Stephanie said.
“You say.” Jeremiah replied right away.
Stephanie thought for a moment and said to Jeremiah, “Tomorrow, I want you to pay more attention to the Conway family, especially your second brother’s money moves.”
“Why pay attention to this?” Jeremiah was a bit puzzled. “Simon usually spent money in a lot of places, and he also made all kinds of
investments. He didn’t hide any of this either.”
Stephanie thought about her plan and said, “Actually, I’m not sure either, it’s just an option. It’s hard to explain over the phone.”
“Okay, I’ll be careful, I’ll handle it, don’t worry.” Jeremiah sat up straight. He knew Stephanie wasn’t someone who messed around.
And…
Jeremiah gave a creepy smile. Recently, Simon had tripped him up a lot, so he was going to strike back.
“Simon, you’d better not do anything illegal, or else, heh heh heh…”
After she hung up the phone, Stephanie thought for a bit, then started listing things and sorting out her thoughts, and only then did she go wash up and go to bed.
This night was bound to be a sleepless one for many people.
Everyone had their own ideas, the three big bosses of Haraville, the secondary powers, and the small groups all met up and talked things
over.
Maxwell was also handling things from all sides, and finally got all the coordination and cooperation further settled.
And I made plans for everything that happened after the market opened.
