“Hello?” Stephanie’s voice came through.
The man smiled, looked at Maxwell’s bad expression, and said, “Hello, Steph, it’s me. Have you been well lately?”
Stephanie on the other end of the phone didn’t say anything.
Maxwell walked straight ahead and tried to grab the gun. The next moment, the other guy didn’t hold back anymore, pulled out the gun, and pointed it at Maxwell’s head.
He looked at Maxwell, who was squinting, gave a mocking smile, and went on, “I heard you and Maxwell got divorced. Let me congratulate you first–happy divorce.”
Stephanie still didn’t answer.
“Then,” the man laughed, “I’m at the Humphrey Group now, and I want to talk about that contract from before. Do you want to come over?”
During the whole process, the two men looked at each other, and their momentum didn’t weaken.
The chatter in the meeting room was gone. You looked at me, I looked at you, and everyone was nervous.
The meeting room was really quiet, like there were only the two of them left, and Stephanie on the phone.
About three seconds passed.
Stephanie’s voice came: “Okay.”

The man smiled and looked at Maxwell, saying, “I knew you would…”
But before I finished talking, the call was already hung up, and all I heard was the “beep beep” busy tone.
The man froze for a second and instinctively looked at his phone.
Stephanie hung up before he finished talking.
He looked up again and saw that Maxwell had already grabbed his
gun.
He pulled the trigger without thinking.
Then, a little flower popped out of the gun barrel, making Maxwell pause for a second.
“Surprise!” he laughed.
It was a toy gun.
The strange and tense atmosphere was instantly broken.
Maxwell let go of the man’s hand, he looked at Estrella and Edgar.
“Things here were left to you guys for now. If it really didn’t work out, just–stall for a bit and say there would be a press conference later.”
“Okay, Max.”
“Yes, Mr. Humphrey.”
The two of them answered right away.
Maxwell just gave the man a gloomy look and said, “You come with
me.”
Seeing the other person didn’t seem to want to listen to him, he

sneered, “I guess you don’t want that thing to be widely known.”
But the man just shrugged his shoulders.
“To be honest, I didn’t care.”
Then he looked at his phone again.
But she might have cared.
So the man followed Maxwell and walked out.
There was a bunch of onlookers left in the meeting room, Edgar and Estrella.
The phones and stuff around were still ringing, but everyone was curious.
Estrella’s eyes narrowed angrily, and she gave the others a cold look.
“Didn’t you hear me? Get to work!” she said coldly.
The others then hurriedly lowered their heads and got back to work.
On the other side.
Stephanie put down the phone.
They just came out from the place where the new stuff was hidden.
Stephanie didn’t look well.
Back then in Groena, she lost her first child.
That was a pain she could never forget.
Later, for many years, she never dealt with Groena’s side and would deliberately ignore some things.

So, after things in Groena matured, they let Estrella, who was studying in Groena, handle them.
At the beginning, Stephanie handled all the Groena stuff and different frameworks herself.
When did Vincent comeback?
Now he wanted to find her…
“What’s wrong?” Lennon next to her noticed something was off with Stephanie and asked.
Stephanie shook her head and didn’t tell them the details, just said she had to leave first.
