Chapter257
In that room with only moonlight, Maxwell’s phone on the floor suddenly started vibrating like crazy.
He slowly looked up, hesitated a bit, then touched the answer button.
“What is it.” His voice was full of exhaustion.
“Mr. Humphrey, something’s wrong, Ms. Gregg…” That was Claudia’s anxious voice.
Aston Martin sped down the road at night.
Maxwell pressed his lips together and drove all the way to Roxanne’s place.
Hurried upstairs.
Claudia opened the door in a panic and led the way, saying anxiously, “It’s been almost half an hour since they went in. No matter how hard I knocked, they wouldn’t open the door. I checked, and a fruit knife is missing from the house!”
Maxwell followed Claudia to the bathroom door.
“Roxanne,” he shouted as he knocked on the door.
But there was no response inside.
“Open the door!” Maxwell knocked on the door again.
Still no response.
Then, Maxwell took two steps back and kicked the bathroom door.

With a “bang,” the bathroom door was kicked open, and then Maxwell saw Roxanne lying in the bathtub, her wrists covered in blood.
“Ms. Gregg!” Claudia cried out.
“Don’t come over!” Roxanne seemed surprised that they came in and cried out.
She was still holding a knife and looked really agitated, so Claudia didn’t dare go over.
“Why did you come over, Max…”
Maxwell pressed his lips together tightly, walked straight over, grabbed the knife, and threw it aside.
“Call 120.” Maxwell said to Claudia.
Claudia ran out right away.
Roxanne just kept struggling: “Max, why wouldn’t you let me die.”
“If you all thought I was hurting her, then why did you try to stop me? Wouldn’t it be better to just let me die to make up for it!”
“Roxanne!” Maxwell tried to calm Roxanne down.
But Roxanne just cried even harder.
“You never loved me!” she screamed, “I knew it from the moment you left today.”
“All of this was what I wanted, not what you wanted!”
She cried and said:
“It was me who let you stay with me!”

“It was me who took your phone and changed the note you gave me.
“It was me who told you to divorce her.”
“It was me who asked you to go everywhere with me.”
“It was me who made you say you loved me.”
Her tears kept falling. She secretly watched Maxwell while crying and said:
“You never touched me…”
“Even if you divorced her, you still wouldn’t marry me.”
“You looked at her differently than you looked at me…”
She cried her heart out, eyes red, looking at Maxwell who had his head down.
Seeing that he still hadn’t comforted her, Roxanne frowned, kept struggling, and tried to make more blood flow from her hand.
And kept crying.
“If it wasn’t because I was dying, you wouldn’t have stayed with me from the start.”
“Max…”
“Since the show couldn’t go on, might as well end it here.”
Roxanne was sobbing so hard she could barely breathe, but Maxwell just stayed silent and held her wrist to stop the bleeding.
Roxanne saw that Maxwell still hadn’t said anything. There was a flash of resentment in her eyes, but she quickly hid it. She kept crying and
went on:

“I was already someone who was about to die. Now, I just died a bit earlier. What’s the difference.”
“Since you loved her, just go back to her. Don’t worry about me.
She cried miserably, her tears fell into the blood, and she looked really fragile.
“Don’t say silly things.” In the end, that’s all Maxwell said.
