Roxanne took out her phone and called Kenneth.
Kenneth was really anxious at that moment, so he picked up the phone. right away.
“Ms. Gregg, what should we do now?” Kenneth was totally freaking out.
In all their previous plans, there just wasn’t the option that Serena was Stephanie.
Back then, they all thought Serena was done for, and were figuring out how to blow things up so that Serena would get bashed by the whole internet.
So, he totally didn’t know how to fight back now.
“There was still time.”
Roxanne braced herself and said, “Before the livestream ended, I could stall for time by saying I hadn’t seen the comments online.”
“But now things were getting bigger, and Stephanie had some powerful people too, who were constantly spreading the influence of the phrase ‘the real one who never splits the coins is Roxanne.“”
Roxanne closed her eyes, her mind kept spinning, and finally, she looked over at Maxwell.
On the other side, Maxwell was standing somewhere backstage

He kept looking over at Stephanie’s private lounge.
He was going to wait for her to come out.
He had to have a good talk with her.
What kept popping up in his mind these days was stuff about Serena.
What Harrison said kept echoing in his mind.
“How Serena was doing physically in the last few episodes, I think anyone with eyes could see it clearly.”
Yes, he knew.
He even blamed Jeremiah.
Blaming why she got hurt so badly, Jeremiah still made her come out
to work.
Looking back now…
She was hurt so badly, and it was all because of him.
He remembered what happened a couple of days ago when he was in Northpine Hospital.
He had already recovered that morning, and his assistant was helping him with the discharge papers.
By some strange twist of fate, he just thought of Patrick’s words.
He wanted to go ask Stephanie what exactly happened when she was in the hospital.
Thinking about it, he just did it.
He went to the front desk, found the nurse, and wanted to pull up

Stephanie’s medical records to take a look.
“Okay, Stephanie, right? What’s your relationship with her?” the nurse asked while clicking the mouse.
He instinctively wanted to say he was Stephanie’s husband, but then he suddenly remembered they had already gotten divorced, so they weren’t a couple anymore.
So in the end, he just said, “I’m her friend.”
The nurse gave him a strange look: “Your friend’s been in the hospital for so many days, and you never came to visit? And you can’t just ask her yourself? Unless you can prove you’re family, we can’t just give out a patient’s private info.”
Maxwell was speechless.
Now that I thought about it…
Maxwell closed his eyes. He felt really complicated at that moment. He thought everything had gotten really messy.
Why was Stephanie Serena?
Stephanie’s attitude toward him.
And then there was how she hid things from him these past few days.
All these things seemed to be telling him that something had already started to change.
But he couldn’t figure it out, and he couldn’t do anything.
A kind of hard–to–describe dull pain came from his heart, leaving him
at a loss.

“Buzz buzz buzz…”
Right at that moment, his phone started vibrating.
Maxwell took it out and glanced at it. It was Grandpa’s call.
While he was hesitating about whether to answer, he saw Roxanne standing to the side.
“Max.” Her voice was shaking, and her eyes were red, full of tears.
