Thinking about it. Roxanne spoke up, “Max, I didn’t need those complicated ceremonies, I didn’t need a wedding or anything, you knew that, I just wanted to marry you, nothing else.”
Maxwell still didn’t look at her.
“I knew you were really tired today, a lot had happened these days.” Roxanne continued, “I could wait.”
“But Max, don’t make me wait too long, don’t let me down, okay?”
Roxanne’s voice came through, word by word.
Very considerate.
It made Maxwell feel helpless.
In the end, he just said “mm.”
Kind of said yes.
“Well, Max, have a good rest, I won’t bother you anymore.” Roxanne said with a cheerful laugh, “How about we have dinner together tonight?”
Maxwell nodded, showing he agreed.
Roxanne finally left.
Maxwell watched Roxanne walk away, feeling strange.
He remembered again how, when his grandpa was seriously ill, he brought Stephanie and knelt by his grandpa’s hospital bed.

Maxwell touched his pocket and took out the wedding ring.
Under the light, this ring reflected a cool, pale glow.
This was what I bought at the store on the way back to the old house.
In a hurry, he put the other wedding ring on Stephanie’s finger.
But she was still really happy.
Also took another one from his hand and carefully put it on him.
“That way, it counted as making a promise for a lifetime.” Back then, she held his hand with her ringed one and smiled as she spoke to him.
Thinking back, he hadn’t seen her smile like that for a long, long time. Luckily, she took off her wedding ring, but she still kept it.
When they got remarried, he believed she would put it on for him again.
The other side.
After Stephanie left Lennon, she came straight to Conway Entertainment.
She first checked the stage costumes for the finals as she had agreed with the designer before.
After putting it on, Stephanie put on the matching mask.
Looking at herself in the mirror, she was very satisfied.
The designer nodded, too.

“Move a bit and see if there’s any problem with the joints,” the designer said.
Stephanie did a prepared dance, and her joints were really flexible.
“Pretty good.”
Both of them were very satisfied.
“Great. I’m really looking forward to seeing you on stage in this outfit in a few days.” the designer said to Stephanie with anticipation.
Stephanie nodded too, saying she was looking forward to it.
“Serena, there was a lot of backlash against you online. Was it really okay?” the designer asked worriedly.
Stephanie patted the other person’s arm to reassure them.
“I’ll handle it,” Stephanie said.
The final was also the time to take off the mask. By then, no one would question her.
After confirming the stage costume, Stephanie took a short break, then went to rehearse “The Ethereal Voice” in the afternoon.
To make sure the livestream went well, there was a rehearsal for each one, but before the first one, Stephanie was still stuck in bed and couldn’t move, so she missed that one.
Later, Jeremiah also used her medical record to ask for leave, just changed the date, changed the record to 10 days earlier.
This was also why Roxanne suspected Serena was Jeremiah’s canary.
In the past, during rehearsals, everyone just did their own thing and

made sure their own stage effects were good, but this time things. changed.
Still waiting backstage, one of the contestants, Emelia Dorsey, just walked over.
Emelia sat on Stephanie’s vanity, looking down at her..
“Serena, I didn’t think you’d actually dare to come.” Emelia said with a smile.
Stephanie was just wearing a regular mask, so she just glanced at Emelia.
“Why didn’t you come?” Stephanie replied.
“Have you not been online these days?” Emelia laughed really hard, “Didn’t you see what people said about you online?”
“How do you say it?” Stephanie actually wanted to see what Emelia really thought.
The first few livestreams went fine, everyone got along, but at the end, they actually wanted to give her a hard time.
Emelia didn’t say it directly, but took her tablet, pulled up a page, and handed it to Stephanie.
Stephanie took a glance, and it was all negative news about Serena-
“Serena get out of the music industry”
“Why didn’t disgraced celebrity Serena quit the show? What kind of background did she have?”
“Boycotted Serena”

“Serena didn’t withdraw, refused to watch ‘The Ethereal Voice“”
Stephanie just glanced over and then looked away.
Kept checking her equipment.
“See that?” Emelia asked with a smile.
“Mm.” Stephanie replied.
“If I were you, I’d just quit obediently,” Emelia mocked, “so you don’t drag the whole crew down.”
Stephanie’s hands paused for a moment, and she looked closely at Emelia’s expression.
