“I just heard they already locked down the area to search, but I heard the place where the car was abandoned is surrounded by deep mountains, if someone hid in there, who knows…”
McKayla was just halfway through her sentence when suddenly, a shadow fell beside her.
She looked up and saw it was Maxwell.
She saw Maxwell and got annoyed, stood up and was about to leave.
“McKayla.” Maxwell called out to her.
The other person was about to leave.
“I got it.” Maxwell said, clenching his fists.
McKayla stopped and looked back at Maxwell.
Patrick on one side frowned a little and asked. “What did you find out?”
Maxwell was a bit uneasy as soon as he was taken in for questioning.
Because before, he and McKayla had both worked with the police.
“I knew she…” Maxwell just looked at McKayla, his eyes a bit red, and said in a low voice, “There really was a car accident that day.”
McKayla just couldn’t help but roll her eyes.
She was really about to explode.

She pointed right at Maxwell’s nose and yelled, “Maxwell, I told you that day Steph had a car accident and told you to get to the hospital fast. You came, but you even brought a Roxanne with you!”
“You thought Steph getting hit by a car wasn’t enough, and now you want to hit her with an emotional blow too, right!”
McKayla felt upset just thinking about it. She only found out after calling Maxwell that day that Stephanie wasn’t in a regular car accident, but was actually hit on purpose.
And being Stephanie’s husband was very suspicious.
“Maxwell, I told you that day too, she was bumped into on purpose, and I even asked if it was you who did it. Isn’t that clear enough?” McKayla said angrily.

Maxwell opened his mouth. He wanted he thought they were pretending on purpose.
In the end, I still didn’t say it.
But Patrick noticed.
“I heard Kayla said you thought Stephanie and she acted to trick you.”
Maxwell didn’t answer, just looked at McKayla in front of him and felt like nothing was real.
“Maxwell, my dad was the director, but hospital resources weren’t
supposed to be used ed
like this.”
Patrick wasn’t as excited as McKayla, but every word felt like a heavy blow to Maxwell’s heart, hurting a lot.
“That day, I went downstairs to look for you.”

Patrick said word by word, “I did say some things to provoke you, but, Maxwell, ask yourself, your wife was in the hospital, shouldn’t
have gone to see her??”

“If you checked her medical records, you would know what was wrong with her.”
Patrick looked at Maxwell’s bloodshot eyes.
He said word by word, loud and clear: “But you didn’t.”
“Even when she was in the hospital for so long, you didn’t go see her.”
“He went to see.” McKayla, who was next to him, gave a mocking laugh and said, “Didn’t he say he saw you and Steph hugging together?”
“Yeah, I almost forgot.” Patrick nodded. “Thanks for the reminder.”
“But even if you and Steph really hugged, so what? He hung out with Roxanne all the time, always nervous and worried. Besides, you were just helping Steph because she couldn’t walk well!”
“The most important thing was, Steph was pushed down the stairs by him, and he could still say such awful things!”
“Steph stayed by his side for so many years and gave so much for him. But in the end, she didn’t get any real love. Bro, his heart really went to the dogs!”
Patrick on the side answered, “No, I fed Roxanne.”
McKayla sneered and said, “Oh, I get it, the dog was Roxanne.”
The brother and sister took turns, sometimes yelling angrily, sometimes making sarcastic remarks.

The more Maxwell listened, the sadder he got.
All he could hear was the voices of the brother and sister, and he felt like the world was spinning.
She was in the hospital for so many days, but he didn’t visit her even
once.
She pushed her down the stairs. It was him who did it, even though things were chaotic then and he didn’t really mean to.
He also said she was acting.
My heart hurt like it was being torn apart piece by piece.
And there was her car accident…
“She was in a car accident… how badly was she hurt?” After a long time. Maxwell finally spoke. His voice was terribly hoarse, like the sound of tree bark scraping.
“Are you blind or what?” McKayla said angrily, her eyes red. “And most importantly, did you know you pushed her down the stairs!”
“I didn’t mean to,” Maxwell answered, “that day…”
