Chapter 183
Belinda saw it was Maxwell, she didn’t say anything, just went over to a chair and sat down.
For a moment, Maxwell didn’t know what to say, and the two of them just stayed silent.
Didn’t know how much time had passed, Maxwell said, “I bought you something.”
He said that and took the little dress over.
Belinda took a look and said, “Thank you, uncle, I don’t need it.”
Maxwell didn’t get mad. First, she put the little dress aside, then took her backpack and art supplies.
“Last time I saw you at kindergarten, you were pretty good at drawing.” Maxwell said as he put the stuff on the table.
Belinda just looked at him.
She said. “Uncle, you could give it to the other kids at Haraville Orphanage.”
Maxwell looked at the little girl in front of him and didn’t know what
to say.
Belinda sighed softly and said, “Uncle, the things I need, my mom would buy for me. Even if she’s busy, Auntie McKayla and Mr. Conway would buy them for me too. I’m just here now because the paperwork isn’t done yet.”
Chapter 103
Belinda held up the Cinnamoroll plush and said, “This is the one Auntie McKayla gave me, I really liked it.”
“You like this, I could buy them all for you,” Maxwell said.
Belinda didn’t say anything. She just held the Cinnamoroll plush and looked at Maxwell in silence.
The big one and the little one looked at each other.
In the end. Belinda spoke up.
“Uncle, don’t you get it yet,” Belinda said, “I only took stuff from my mom and her friends. I wouldn’t take things from anyone else.”
The little girl in front of me was small and soft, but in the rundown environment of Haraville Orphanage, she seemed unusually strong. Just like her, looked weak but actually had a tough personality.
“Uncle, go back. Don’t come looking for me anymore,” Belinda said softly.
But Maxwell didn’t move, his hands hidden under the table, clenched tight.
“You should already know about my relationship with Stephanie,” Maxwell started. “So, if you call her ‘Mom,‘ you should call me ‘Dad,‘ too.”
“There was nothing wrong with you taking my stuff, it was all what I should’ve given you.”
“I didn’t know if she told you about my abilities. You were my daughter. In all of Haraville, as long as you wanted something, you could get it.”

Chapter183
Maxwell looked at Belinda, who was staring at him with big round eyes, and curled his lips into a smile to seem friendly.
He smiled and said, “I’ll help you get better, and I can help you make your dream come true.”
“As long as…”
Maxwell paused for a moment. For some reason, he felt a kind of vulnerability he’d never felt before.
His eyes were a little red. He held back his feelings and said to Belinda, “As long as you call me ‘dad‘.”
Maxwell held back his feelings, and Belinda was watching him too.
The little eyebrows frowned together.
The two looked at each other.
After about three seconds, Belinda finally spoke.
She said, “But are you?”
Looking at Maxwell with bloodshot eyes, and the way he looked like he wanted to say something but stopped.
Belinda knew he wanted to ask if Stephanie taught her.
So, Belinda grabbed the Cinnamoroll plushie’s big ears and said, “Uncle, my mom was a really good person. Before you came looking for me, she never mentioned you. You made her tell me who you were.”
“But she didn’t want to hurt me or make me worry, so she didn’t say much.”

“I asked Auntie McKayla, but Auntie McKayla didn’t tell me either. I only found out about your situation after I went to the dean and asked her to check f me.”
“Uncle. I knew there was someone named Roxanne with you now.”
“As soon as I searched your name, it wasn’t my mom that came up, it was that Roxanne. Since you liked her so much, then just be with her.”
Belinda looked at Maxwell with her clear big eyes, but she said something that broke his heart: “Don’t hurt my mom again.”
Maxwell closed his eyes sadly.
It took a few seconds to calm down.
“Belinda,” Maxwell said, “it wasn’t like what you thought between me and Roxanne.”
But Belinda just looked at him.
The big eyes made him sad.
“I didn’t know how to explain it to you,” Maxwell said softly. “Give me some time. Later, she would understand, and you would understand too.”
“There was a blue tanzanite in the safe at home, it was really pretty. your mom liked it too, and I asked a craftsman to make a set of jewelry for you.”
“No need,” Belinda answered, “I’m just my mom’s daughter, you’re not my dad.”
