Chapter 116
Chapter 116
"Death only requires one bullet."
Thunder and lightning rumbled in the clouds above the black mountain. Then rain fell on and off, adding to the somber atmosphere in that part of the woodland. It was four o'clock in the afternoon, yet it appeared to be seven. Thunder and lightning rumbled in the clouds above the black mountain. Then rain fell on and off, adding to the somber atmosphere in that part of the woodland. It was four o'clock in the afternoon, yet it appeared to be seven. The abandoned cabin at the foot of the hill provided us with a brief shelter. The interior was gloomy, and there was no electricity to provide light for them as they waited for the rain to cease, which it did not.
My son was on my lap while I sat in the corner on a stool. And he was grumpy and agitated.
"Dave, Rafael Junior is starving." So, what are we going to do now? "
"I have to grab some supplies and Rafael's milk," Dave said through the window crack, turning to face me. "Can I leave you here for a while?"
"Yes," I replied, a little hesitantly. “ Just don't let it go on for too long."
Dave opened the door and was ready to step outside when he noticed white shifting shadows from a distance and returned inside. "I guess we're going to have some problems," he said as he looked for another exit, which he located in the back leading to the forest. Come here. "
Dave led us to the back of the bang house, where the filthy kitchen was. I was trembling with my son in my arms, and the ground was partly damp.
"I need to check outside, and please wait for me here," he said as he returned to the house and shut the door. He left me shivering and terrified for my son's safety.
The rain became enraged and slammed on the hut's roof. Night had fallen, and it was dark in the corner where I sat, clutching my son closely.
It was excruciatingly painful to wait for Dave to return. Then, from afar, I heard gunshots, which made my nerves tighten.
Rafael Junior started crying gently because he was hungry, so I calmed him and murmured, "Baby, let's wait for Tito Dave to return." Please don't cry. "
I was terrified that the evil guys would find us in the back. As Dave has stated, any group that can catch me will be greatly rewarded.
Groups of underworld criminals would kill each other for the pot money on my head. Mea was a bad one who would not stop until I died. I knew her evilness on the inside had radiated outside with the money she had inherited after her husband died in a fire.
My heart sank in anguish every time I remembered Rafael's name, and I missed him terribly. He had been my hero since the beginning, but now it was Dave who took over and kept us safe until we arrived at the abandoned hut.
Another round of gunfire reverberated through the air, and I hoped hard that the criminal looking for us would never enter the hut. My knees wobbled and my stomach lurched in panic as I heard the faint sound of a door opening. After the rain stopped, the creatures of the night began to quack, and the sound of footsteps from inside the house became audible in my ears. I knew my hands had frozen in terror.
I begged and thought, "Please don't get in here."
But when the door opened, I shrank in the corner where I was sitting with my legs crossed and my head down. I closed my eyes and waited for the men to come around the corner and seize me. The steps then began to descend and gently approach us.
"Boss, there's somebody out in the woods!" said an unexpected voice.
The sound of approaching steps had stopped and returned to where it had come from. And it was such a relief for me that my eyes welled up with tears, and I took a big breath and relaxed. The sound of doors closing at the off was drowned out by silence, but after a few moments, there was a loud gunshot at the off. It was as if a gang war had broken out not far from the hut. The crossing of fire was moving away, and I imagined they continued fighting in the forest until the firing stopped and silence took over.
Rafael Junior had slept in my arms, which made me happy. But I remained cautious and never left the location where I sat, waiting for Dave to return. I hadn't kept count of how long I had been waiting, and my eyes had closed and I had fallen asleep.
I awoke to the first cockcrowing not far from the hut and rubbed my eyes to have a better look around. I imagined it was already early in the morning and was grateful that I had escaped the men who were clearly out to kill me. Animals were starting to wake up and whined in anticipation of the new daylight.
The sun dawned, promising a warm day, but Dave was yet to return. What was the cause of his delay? I was already hungry, and Rafael Junior was becoming agitated. He required milk.
"Dave, where have you gone?"
I was concerned and peered out the window when I noticed a man emerging from the woods. It was a man's form, and it wasn't Dave. I bolted, taking Rafael Junior with me, and fled the hut through the back of the house. I walked over the fading path to the woods, gasping for air as I arrived at the trees and took cover behind the first giant tree I touched.
Rafael Junior started sobbing. He was starving and restless.
"Baby, please be quiet. There's a nasty lad on the way," I said quietly. I peered through the body's tree to see if the man I saw was indeed on his way to the cottage.
And, certainly, he was in the small garden in front of the hut. He's dressed in a black jacket and has mounted the fifth step of the house before knocking. I couldn't hear anything, but based on his movements, it was clear that he was attempting to open the door. Then he kicked the door open and walked in.
I was too stiff and afraid to respond to the man's gestures. He was unquestionably an intruder and maybe a murderer. Unlike the first group, he was a lone assassin who intended to enjoy himself exclusively for the large sum of money he could obtain after killing me. I was enraged by what was going on. I felt completely safe in my father's house, but Dave had informed me that money was powerful and could move mountains.
As the man's shadow moved around within the house, he opened the window to look out.
I hid my head and leaned against the trunk of the tree, and when I looked back at the house, the man was walking down the route I was on. My face was flushed at what I witnessed, so I clutched my son and hurried as fast as I could across the forest.
After a few minutes of running, I felt like my heart was about to explode, so I had to stop. My mind was racing and my body was depleted of oxygen.
Rafael sobbed openly, possibly as a result of being overly hungry.
"Baby, don't cry; the evil guy has arrived."
But he cried even louder and more ferociously. His scream resonated throughout the forest, making me tremble with horror at the thought of being heard by the man who was chasing us down.
I gathered all of my might and resumed my run to the thickest area of the woods. The path I was going on began to transition from mud and clay to rocky and woody terrain. And my feet began to swell and become heavy as a result of the running. My heart was definitely throbbing, as if there were a drum in my head, and my vision was clouded. Everything became foggy as my thoughts were overwhelmed by both anxiety and exhaustion. Then I heard some rustling from a distance, from the path I had taken.
"This isn't happening," I whispered, hoping that everything was just a dream that would vanish when I awoke. But the anguish I was experiencing at the time was proof that it was real. I was hoping to avoid another death threat. My son kept wailing, and I was too afraid to stop him. I need to find someone who can assist me. I run and run till I reach the forest's edge.
"Stop!" The man was approaching far from behind me, and if I didn't get help quickly, I'd be dead with my son in my arms. All my strength was consumed by my running, and slowly I lost my power of survival. I was about to surrender when I stumbled on the grassy ground outside the woods.
My son wailed more, and the man from the woods emerged, and he was holding a gun, and he shot me.
It was a miracle that he didn't hit me. His bullet hit the ground and became a waste. I crawled to the ground, reaching out to my son. And with my extended arms, I got him and coiled him in my arms. He cried, and I cried.
"Please, don't kill my son! Just kill me and leave my son alone. "
The man's eyes locked on me as he moved slowly to the spot where I was lying with my son, who was crying loudly and hungrily.
Tears streamed down my cheeks as I prepared to close the final curtain on my life. That's it. I was going to perish as a result of bullets.
The man raised his hand, a revolver in his hand, and pointed it at my head. I don't have any ideas on how to get away from him because I'm not very good at it. Unlike Roger, my first assassin, who reversed his life vision by allowing me to survive? But the man in front of me seemed dead set on killing me.
And he stated it fiercely, and as he was ready to squeeze the trigger, another round was fired.
The gun was then discharged, and I closed my eyes as I prepared for death. I realized there was no way out of that spot or from the gunshot that had struck the victim. "Please, don't kill my son!" I screamed with my last ounce of might.
Then I waited for my eyes to dim before collapsing and dying on the ground. Instead, the man in front of me collapsed next to us, with blood streaming from his brow. He was killed by a single bullet.
