Chapter 119. Take Turns
Chapter 119. Take Turns
Roxanne doesn’t give Alexandra enough time to take a proper breath before they reach the bedroom. The moment the door closes behind them, she turns toward the older woman, catches her by the waist, and gently pushes her backward until Alexandra lands against the mattress with a surprised laugh.
Roxanne climbs onto the bed after her and settles over Alexandra, smiling down at her.
Alexandra simply stares at her for a moment, both hands resting around Roxanne’s waist.
“I’m glad you’re happy,” she says, amusement warming her voice, “but shouldn’t we let the food settle before we start anything?”
Roxanne laughs softly. “I saw.”
Alexandra’s brows draw together. “Saw what?”
“The way you looked at Maddie.”
The teasing expression on Alexandra’s face fades into something softer. Roxanne rests her hands against Alexandra’s shoulders, studying her carefully. “It wasn’t the same way you looked at me when I was her age. Why?”
Alexandra exhales slowly, already knowing exactly where this conversation is going. “Because I was already attracted to you the moment you stepped into the penthouse,” she admits. “That was precisely why I kept pushing you away.”
Roxanne’s expression softens. “Because I was sixteen?”
“Precisely because you were sixteen, sweetheart.” Alexandra shakes her head. “I would’ve been in jail if I had touched you back then. You were a child, and I knew better than to cross that line.”
“I know that now,” Roxanne says quietly.
Alexandra looks at her for a long moment before reaching up to brush a loose strand of hair away from Roxanne’s face. “You were supposed to grow up without me making things complicated for you.”
“But you still cared about me.”
“Of course I cared about you.”
Roxanne smiles, Alexandra notices the look immediately. “Don’t.”
“I didn’t say anything.”
“You didn’t have to.”
Roxanne leans closer, pressing a soft kiss against Alexandra’s lips. It is brief, affectionate, and enough to make Alexandra smile when she pulls away. “You were always so serious.”
“I had to be, I don’t want to ruin Brandon’s child.”
“And now?”
“Now,” Alexandra says, tightening her arms around Roxanne, “you are an adult woman sitting on top of me after deliberately distracting me with that smile.”
Roxanne laughs, lowering her forehead against Alexandra’s. “I like making you flustered.”
“You enjoy testing my patience.”
“Maybe.” Alexandra shakes her head, but there’s no real annoyance in her expression.
She knows Roxanne too well by now. For nearly three months, she has learned every little expression, every teasing smile, and every moment when Roxanne wants reassurance but is too proud to ask for it directly.
Roxanne eventually shifts beside her, lying against Alexandra’s side instead. She traces a fingertip gently along Alexandra’s hand. “You really saw Maddie as a child.”
“Yes.”
“You never saw me that way?”
Alexandra pauses. “I saw you as a woman, and that’s dangerous. I shouldn’t get attracted by you,” she says, and takes a long exhale as she stares at Roxanne’s face.
Roxanne studies her face. “And how do you see me now?”
Alexandra smiles. “As the woman who has completely ruined my ability to have a peaceful evening. As a lover.”
Roxanne laughs. “I’m serious.”
“So am I.” Alexandra turns toward her and gently cups her cheek.
“I see you as the woman I love. The woman who knows exactly how to make me smile even when I’m trying not to. The woman who can walk into a room and make me forget whatever I was supposed to be doing.”
Roxanne’s teasing expression fades, replaced by something softer and more sincere. She studies Alexandra’s face for a moment before asking the question that has been quietly sitting in her heart.
“I love hearing you say that.” Her fingers gently trace along Alexandra’s hand.
“Do you see a future with me, Alex?” Roxanne asks, her voice serious now. “A real future?”
Alexandra looks at her for a long moment before brushing Roxanne’s hair gently away from her face. “I do,” she says quietly. “Even when I’m scared that one day you’ll be the one who leaves me.”
Roxanne’s eyes soften as Alexandra continues talking, “I’m older than you, sweetheart. I’ll be forty-six when you’re thirty. I’ll be fifty-six when you’re forty. There will always be years between us, and sometimes I wonder if one day you’ll look at me and realize you want a life with someone closer to your own age.”
“I don’t mind,” Roxanne says without hesitation. “You take care of me now. When it’s my turn to take care of you, I’ll do it.”
She smiles and reaches up to touch Alexandra’s cheek. “I’ll take care of you for as long as you let me. And I’ll love you just as much then as I love you now.”
"Okay," Alexandra says softly.
Roxanne settles more comfortably against her, listening to Alexandra’s steady breathing. “You know I’ll be at the university by the end of the month.”
Alexandra nods. “I know.”
“I’ll be busy with studying and work.”
“And?”
Roxanne smiles against her shoulder. “And I want to make the most of the time I have with you.”
Alexandra looks down at her. “Roxanne…”
“I mean it.” Her fingers intertwine with Alexandra’s. “I know university will take a lot of my time. I know I’ll have responsibilities, assignments, work, and everything else. But when I do have time, I want to spend it with you.”
Alexandra’s expression softens completely. “You’re going to be the death of me someday.”
Roxanne smiles. “You say that every time.”
“Because you keep giving me reasons.” Alexandra pulls her closer, and Roxanne happily settles into her arms. Their lips meet again in a slow, gentle kiss.
When they separate, Roxanne stays close, her nose brushing against Alexandra’s. “I’m not going anywhere.”
Alexandra closes her eyes for a moment. “I know.”
There’s silence between them for only a heartbeat before Roxanne shifts again, sliding back over Alexandra’s body with intent. This time there is no teasing smile—only heat. She kisses her harder, deeper, tongue sliding past parted lips as her hips roll down in a slow, filthy grind. Alexandra’s breath catches. Her hands tighten on Roxanne’s waist, fingers digging into soft fabric.
“Roxanne—”
“Shh.” Roxanne’s voice is low and rough with want. “I want you. Right now. No more talking about the past or the future. Just us.”
She sits up just long enough to peel her own shirt over her head, then reaches for Alexandra’s buttons under impatient fingers. The older woman’s bra follows, and Roxanne’s mouth is on her the second the lace falls away—hot, open-mouthed kisses across the upper curves of her breasts, teeth grazing one tight nipple before she sucks it deep.
Alexandra arches with a broken sound, one hand flying to the back of Roxanne’s head to hold her there. “You’re crazy.” Roxanne just smirks at her.
Roxanne works her thoroughly, switching from one breast to the other, licking and biting until Alexandra is squirming beneath her. Only then does she trail lower, dragging open-mouthed kisses down the center of Alexandra’s stomach while her hands work the button and zipper of her pants. She tugs everything down in one smooth motion—pants, underwear, all of it—and spreads Alexandra’s thighs wide.
“Fuck,” Roxanne breathes, staring. “You’re already soaked.”
She doesn’t tease. She lowers her head and drags her tongue in one long, firm stroke from entrance to clit. Alexandra’s hips jerk. Roxanne moans against her, the vibration sending a fresh rush of heat through the older woman, and then she settles in properly—lips sealing around the swollen bud, sucking in steady, rhythmic pulls while two fingers push inside her.
Alexandra’s head falls back against the pillows. Her thighs tremble around Roxanne’s shoulders. Every wet, filthy sound of Roxanne’s mouth and fingers fills the room. Roxanne moves her fingers slowly at first, curling those fingers just right on every stroke, tongue working her clit in tight circles. When Alexandra’s breathing turns ragged, Roxanne speeds up—fingers thrusting harder and deeper, mouth relentless.
“Come for me,” Roxanne murmurs against her. “I want to feel it.”
Alexandra shatters with a broken moan, walls clenching hard around Roxanne’s fingers, hips grinding up into her mouth. Roxanne doesn’t stop until the last tremor fades. Only then does she crawl back up Alexandra’s body, kissing her deeply so she can taste herself.
Alexandra’s hands are already between them, shoving Roxanne’s remaining clothes down. The second the younger woman is bare, Alexandra rolls them, pinning Roxanne beneath her. She kisses her like she’s starving—deep, claiming—while one thigh slides between Roxanne’s legs, pressing hard against her soaked core.
“My turn,” Alexandra growls against her mouth.
She works her way down Roxanne’s body with the same focused intensity, sucking marks into the soft skin of her inner thighs before finally burying her face between them. Her tongue is broader and firmer, licking through every fold like she intends to memorize the taste. When she pushes two fingers inside, Roxanne’s back bows off the bed.
Alexandra's fingers move in her with powerful strokes, her free hand pinning Roxanne’s hip down so she can’t escape the dual assault of tongue and fingers. Roxanne’s moans turn into sharp, needy cries. Her hands fist in Alexandra’s hair. When she comes, it’s with Alexandra’s name on her lips, thighs clamping tight around the older woman’s head.
They don’t stop there.
Roxanne recovers fast, dragging Alexandra up and flipping their positions again. She straddles one of Alexandra’s thighs and begins to grind—slow, wet slides of slick heat against firm muscle. Alexandra’s hands grip her ass, guiding the rhythm, watching every expression that crosses Roxanne’s face. When Roxanne leans down to kiss her, it’s messy and desperate. Their bodies move together in a filthy, perfect rhythm until Roxanne shudders through another orgasm, collapsing against Alexandra’s chest.
Even then they keep touching—fingers sliding through wetness, mouths finding new places to kiss and bite. Roxanne ends up on her back once more with Alexandra’s fingers buried deep inside her, thumb circling her oversensitive clit until she comes a third time, voice hoarse.
Outside the bedroom, the ranch is quiet, the sounds of the evening fading into the distance. Inside, they remain wrapped around each other, skin damp, limbs tangled, talking softly between slow, lingering kisses about university, Texas, New York, and all the ordinary things waiting for them.
Neither woman knows exactly what the next few days will bring. But for tonight, neither of them needs to know.
