Chapter 29

Anna

Four months later

My ring shined brightly under the chandelier making me smile to myself. Exactly one month ago, Luka and I were married. I’ve reconciled with Vladimir and even let him walk me down the isle to give me away. The wedding wasn’t huge, just the ones my brother trusted. Luka wasn’t big on other Italian men being here, but it wasn’t like he had a choice. He did trust Giovanni though.

Giovanni and a few of his trusted men were invited, along with a female on each of their arms. Luka told me some were wives, the other being their girlfriends. However, the woman with Giovanni was his secretary. The way he held her possessively close told me she was more than that.

And that Severin situation…it’s calmed down for now. Giovanni is keeping a short leash on Aiden and making sure he doesn’t come after him. As for Melanie, she has been staying with us since it would only stress her out being around Aiden. He’s still pissed at her and also Severin, too.

A pair of arms wrapped around my waist. “Babygirl, what are you doing over here? The party is over there.”

He spun me around and studied my face to make sure I was okay. “I’m fine, just needed to get away for a moment.”

He helped me back to the party walking towards the bar where a young couple was seated. Luka cleared his throat. “Anna, this is Alec and Courtney.” When the blonde stood up, she shook my hand and smiled.

“Excuse me, I have to go check on Caterina. It was a pleasure meeting you. And I’ll see you later.” She kissed Alec on the lips passionately.

Nikolai tapped Luka on the shoulder and whispered in his ear. He nodded and kissed me on the lips. “I’ll be right back. Don’t go anywhere and stay close to Vladimir.

“I know. Go, I’ll be fine.” Him and his protectiveness over me, especially when it came to other men.

I picked up the champagne glass and sipped the orange juice. I spun around and was met with the bluest eyes I’d ever laid eyes on. “Why is such a beautiful woman sitting all alone?”

“You better move along before my husband or brother come back. They are very protective of me.”

This was bad.

Very fucking bad.

“Ah, yes, the beautiful Anna Vasiliev or is it Alexeev now? Sister of Nikolai, whom married his best friend and still lives.”

I narrowed my eyes at him. “What is it you want?”

“I mean no harm, congrats to you and Luka on your recent marriage.” He paused then smiled. “You don’t have to worry about me. You’re not my type.”

“Excuse me?!” What the hell does that mean?

“My type is muscled up and tattooed, maybe a couple piercings. Let me break it down to you sweetheart. My type would be Nikolai or Luka, but unfortunately they don’t swing that way. Just saying they’re fucking hot.” He raised his eyebrows in a sexual manner, but not directed at me. At my brother and Luka.

I blushed and smiled at him in realization. “Oh! No need to say anymore. I get it now.”

Luka

I was standing next to Nikolai when I scanned the room for Anna. My fists clenched as I watched Anna smile a little too sweet for my liking. He raised his eyebrows in a sexual manner, and it made me want to rip him away from her. A voice in my head keeps telling me murder the bastard. He was treading on my fucking territory making me want to shoot him in the head. End him.

I was about to storm over there to show him who she belonged to when a hand clamped down on each of my shoulders. Nikolai was holding me back and warned. “Don’t cause a fucking scene, it will only end badly.”

All I could see is red when she hugged the guy. Nikolai and Vladimir both had to hold me back to prevent me from causing a scene as Nikolai put it. They hugged as he walked away leaving her alone.

Why the fuck is she smiling so much?

“Calm down. Here, drink this. Lydia brought me my drink I left over there.” Nikolai offered, but I refused.

“No! I’m fine, just going to have a word with my wife. I promise I’m fine now.” I lied through my teeth.

Was I calm?

Hell no.

I’m not going to hurt her, just show her she’s mine.

I stormed over to her, and pulled her by the wrist growling. “Come on. You. Me. Bathroom. Now.”

“Luka! What’s wrong with you?” She hissed as I drug her to the bathroom.

I locked the door and shoved her to the wall. “Who was that you were talking to?”

She cocked her head to the side and laughed making me even more pissed off. “You’re so fucking hot when you get jealous. If anyone has a right to be jealous, it should be me.”

I looked to her confused. “I haven’t talked or even glanced at another woman, it’s only you. We’ve talked about this.”

She shook her head and giggled. “I know. What I mean is that guy is gay. Was telling me how hot you and my brother are. Now shut the hell up and kiss me.”

Pulling her by the back of her thighs, I wrapped her legs around my waist. “You know, I was two seconds from going over there and kicking his ass. If it weren’t for your brother and Vladimir holding me back, I would have. Maybe even shot him.”

“Luka, take me home and fuck me. Make love to your wife.”

My wife.

Baby girl.

The mother of my child growing inside her.

I linked our hands together brushing my lips against hers and whispered. “I love you, Mrs. Anna Alexeev.”

“I love you too, Mr. Alexeev.”

“Baby girl, when I get you home, I’m going to eat you up. Every fucking inch.”

“You better, Papa.” She grinned against my lips.
