Chapter 79

Chapter 79
“I miss you.” Toby whispered atop my head, gently caressing the top of my head, and I closed my eyes, a sigh escaping me at the warm feeling that enveloped me.

I wished I could stay here forever.

“I miss you too.” My voice was barely above a whisper, and it was taking all of me to remain calm. I squeezed him tighter, so tight that even if it was a dream, it would be impossible to escape.

I was content with staying here forever, but the squeaking of an open door distracted us, and before we could separate, a rather loud clearing of throat distracted us.

Dylan leaned against the doorframe, his arms crossed, and a smug grin was on his face. "Do you think Father would approve of these nightly shenanigans?" He teased, and I rolled my eyes, reluctantly pulling away from Toby.

“What are you two clowns doing out here?” I folded my arms, glaring at the twins. It was hard to hide the annoyance in my voice. Was it possible for me to strangle them? Not in a brutal way, of course, just in a way that they wouldn’t have to talk.

“Freedom of movement?” Ryan shrugged like it was the most obvious thing. “The same thing you are also doing here.”

“Hey, Dylan, Ryan.” Toby greeted the twins, extending his hand for a handshake, and I narrowed my eyes, watching like a hawk, fully prepared for whatever stupid game they might try to pull.

“Why are you still here?” I asked again, enunciating the words like I would to a toddler. Maybe if I spoke slowly enough, they would finally understand the concept of leaving.

“Easy, cheetah. We wanted to see the mate, and we are going now.” Ryan said, raising his hands in surrender, and he was dragging his brother away.

“Have fun, but not too much.” Dylan called out, throwing an exaggerated wink at Toby, which I noticed, and I shook my head. These two had an uncanny ability to pop up at the worst possible moments. If they weren’t my brothers, I would consider filing a restraining order—for the sake of my sanity.

With the twin gone, I could breathe well, and I reached for Toby’s hands, but the moment our skin touched, a sharp inhale of air left my lips as I was assaulted with sparks, the connection between us curling around us and wrapping around us.

“Are you alright?” Toby asked, his face peeping into my line of vision, and I nodded my head.

I nodded my head. “I was not sure, but I am alright now that you are here.” I know it was cheesy, but that was how I truly felt, and I opened the door, letting us enter.

The bed had already been laid as I was preparing to go to bed, but his eyes focused on the box of chocolate on the bed, and he cocked an eyebrow. “Are you sure you were preparing to sleep?”

“Oh, come on.” I rolled my eyes, taking one of the chocolates and tearing a piece in my mouth. “It is my comfort food.”

“Sure, no judgment.” Toby settled on the bed beside me, and he held me to himself. I felt him so close to me, his muscles holding me in a way that was comforting. I was instantly relaxing into him with a sigh.

I turn to face him, my fingers reaching for his beard. “Is it my eyes, or would I have sworn it was more than this the last time we met?”

Toby reached out, stroking his bare chin. “I was getting tired of it, and I decided to remove it; besides, it always gets in the way anytime I want to eat you.” My eyes widened as I heard him, my brain registering what he had just said, and I swallowed.

“Yeah, you are right.” I told him. But why was my voice so hoarse?

“Maddie, are you alright?”

“Hmm.” I mumbled under my breath, swallowing aloud. Toby lowered his gaze, his eyes meeting mine, and the fire that they ignited was enough to set me ablaze.

I raise my head, as if an invisible cord has been holding us together, and Tobi moves closer, joining our lips together.

“Mmm.” I made a noise of satisfaction as our lips touched, the fire in me reducing to a warm flame, but it didn’t dim the way I was feeling for him.

My finger reached up, tangling in his hair, and I melded my lips towards him, kissing him with everything I had.

“I need you.” I murmured against his lips, but he swallowed my complaints and continued to kiss me. Impatience tugged at my tips, and I yanked at his shirt, wanting to feel him so close to me.

“Easy.” Toby chuckled, slowly parting from me to remove his shirt, and I took a moment to admire the linen shirt, but it was thrown off his body, and I was blessed with his bare chest.

Yummy. That was the first thought that came to mind, and if I had enough time, I would have proceeded to lick every inch of it until it was glistening with my saliva, but I needed him.

We must have had a certain telepathy going on because Toby tugged his pants down, and I did the same.

“We need to..." He began, reaching to touch me down there, but I hushed him, shaking my head.

“Just fuck me already.” I whispered, trembling with need, and Toby’s eyes darkened from my crude word. He fisted himself, directed it to my spread legs, and my mouth opened in a long, drawn-out moan as he entered me, filling me up in a way that no man would dare, and a shudder ran through me.

Each movement sent a wave of pleasure down my spine, making my toes curl, and I would have sworn that I was seeing stars.

We were cuddling after the intense exercise, my hands gently twirling around the scanty hair on his chest as I tried to catch my breath. “But really, why are you here?”

I had to be sure what reason had brought him here before I began to rejoice, but the question didn’t sit right with him, and he shifted away from me.

“I could always leave if I am not welcomed.” He grumbled and made to go, but I tugged him back to the bed, refusing to part with his warmth.

“I am sorry; I am just too happy, and I don’t want this to be momentary.” I apologized.

“Shhh.” Toby whispered, bringing his lips in contact with my forehead. “Stop worrying too much. I am here beside you, holding you, and that is all that matters. Tomorrow will sort itself out.”

“Hmm.” I mumbled into his side, nodding my head. There was no need to worry about the unseen. I just had to enjoy whatever moment I had with him.

“Now sleep; we have a long day ahead of us. The shipments will be coming tomorrow.”

It clicked in my head that that must be the reason he had come, but I couldn’t care again at this point. I was just happy he was here.

“Goodnight.” I whispered, and I was closing my eyes as it hit me..
