Chapter 65
Kaylee sat on the chairman’s seat with a smug on her face as she stared at the shareholders who were looking at her angrily.
“Kaylee, you have been going around saying that Rhiannon isn’t your father’s child, do you know that how much that rumor has cost us? We knew that even if you and Rhiannon don’t get along, you should at least care about the company’s interest as you are also a shareholder, right?” one of them asked as he tried to control his anger not to shout at the latter.
Kaylee rolled her eyes at the latter’s words.
“What I said is the truth! You can either call Dad or Rhiannon to confirm it!” she said coldly making the shareholders look at each other as they were shocked.
“As you know, this is my family’s company. How can Rhiannon be the leader when she isn’t part of the company? I already told her about it but she just ignored me,” Kaylee said shocking them.
“Kaylee, you should remember that Rhiannon is the largest shareholder! Also, it was your grandfather’s wish that Rhiannon could be the president,” another said causing Kaylee to be in disbelief and she shook her head vigorously.
“Well, that was when Grandpa thought that Rhiannon was a Clark and his granddaughter. I know that if grandfather was present today, he would agree with my decisions and dad’s.”
The shareholders sighed as they didn’t know what else to say to make the latter change her mind since she had already set out to throw Rhiannon away.
“Now, we will be holding a press conference to announce the new company’s president. I know that you all wish that it was Rhiannon and not me but where is she? Why isn’t she here during this crucial time?” Kaylee asked with a smirk.
The shareholders started murmuring as they felt that Kaylee’s words were true. As the president of the company, why was Rhiannon not present?
Just when any of them was about to speak, the conference room door was pushed and it was opened making everyone turn in its direction.
“Were you looking for me? Here I am. Sorry, I am late. I wasn’t informed that there was a meaning. My secretary is the one who has informed me that you guys have a secret meaning. I got curious and decided to come and see what you guys were talking about,” Rhiannon said coldly as she glanced at each one of them.
Kaylee was so shocked as she had wanted to convince the shareholders before they all had a meeting with Rhiannon but since Rhiannon was present, she knew that she wasn’t going to get what she wanted so easily.
“Rhiannon dear, what do you mean that you weren’t informed when we were told that you were the one who had called for the meaning?” one of the women present asked curiously while the others except for Kaylee also looked at her as they waited for her answer.
“Aunty, if I was the one who called for the meaning, do you think that I would have allowed Kaylee to be seated at the president’s seat?” Kaylee asked her back making some of the hiss while others sighed as they felt they were too stupid to be used by Kaylee.
Remembering that they had nearly been convinced by her, they glared at the latter who was glaring at Rhiannon with her eyes full of hatred.
“What were you guys discussing?” she asked as she raised her eyebrows and pretended that she had not seen the latter.
A few minutes later, one of the bodyguards walked in with a new seat while another walked towards Kaylee who was breaking into a sweat when she saw the bodyguard walking to her.
“You… what do you want to do? Do you know that beating someone is illegal?” she asked as she stammered making Rhiannon chuckle.
“Thought that you didn’t fear me or my bodyguards and that’s why you organized this meeting? Why then do you seem to be so scared like a cat?” Rhiannon asked sarcastically.
Kaylee glared at her as she blamed her for everything. Tears were already in her eyes ready to flow out as soon as the bodyguard got close to her.
Immediately the bodyguard did, Kaylee started crying making the bodyguard speechless but he continued doing his work.
He lifted the seat together with Kaylee and took her to the end of the table. When he was carrying her, the latter was screaming and crying as if she had been beaten up.
The new chair was placed at the head of the table and Rhiannon sat as she stared at Kaylee.
“Kaylee, if you were such a coward, then why do you often confront me? You know how my bodyguards can be ruthless. If you are not careful, I might ask them to throw you away or lock you in a toilet till you get discipline as it seems that Aunty ever taught you that,” Rhiannon said.
Her words were ruthless and sharp hitting Kaylee hard as they seemed sarcastic and at the same time true.
“You! Elders, now that Rhiannon is here, why don’t you ask her whether she is my father’s child as you all are doubting me!” Kaylee said with a smirk after wiping her tears and stopped crying.
Rhiannon glared at her coldly but the latter pretended not to see it.
“Child, is what she is saying true?”
“Yes. I am not Mr Clark’s child or related to the family in any way. But I have a question, who said only the Clarks can lead the company?” Rhiannon asked.
“As far as I know. The person with the majority shares should be the leader. If they don’t want to be, they can hand it over to the second-largest shareholders! It isn’t like I don’t want to run the company and want to hand it to Kaylee,” Rhiannon said and most of the shareholders agreed with her words.
Seeing this, Kaylee glared at Rhiannon wishing she could kill the latter there and then. Knowing she couldn’t, she found her palm bleeding as she had clenched her hard too hard.
“You are right but you should know that this company belongs to the Clarks. Also, most of your shareholders were handed to you by the late Mr Clark. Not all belonged to your mother. I think you should return his shares to his rightful grandchild,” one of the shareholders said opposing Rhiannon.
Rhiannon looked at her and stared at her for quite a well before knowing her head.
“You are right. Maybe I should but why didn’t Grandpa leave even a single share to Kaylee and leave them all to me?” Rhiannon asked stunning the latter.
“Rhiannon, you should be aware that if your grandfather knew that you weren’t carrying his blood, he wouldn’t have given you the shares thus you shouldn’t be so arrogant. I can also advise you the same thing my fellow partner has just said,” another said causing Rhiannon’s aura to turn cold and oppress them as some of them started coughing, others shrank in their seats others lowered their heads in fear of confronting her face to face.
The old shareholders were stunned as they remained that her mother had the same aura around her when she was angry.
“My mother was the one who gave the shares to both Mr Clark and Grandpa. The Clarks should even be grateful that I am not asking for what was handed over by my mother,” she said coldly.
None of them looked at her face to face. They all knew that what she had just said was the truth and were embarrassed by her words when they remembered how they forced her to give away the shares as if she was a nobody and didn’t have the right to own anything that involved the company.
Kaylee gritted her teeth and clenched her hands into a fist once more as she regarded pouring a lot of diesel into Rhiannon’s apartment she felt that if she did, the latter would have died.
“You are lucky that I don’t want to waste my time talking with you all. I have a letter that Grandpa left behind.”
