Chapter 45 Forty-Five
"Oh yes... Mason.... Mason." Danica panted as Mason moved quicker within her.
They hadn't even been in their room for five minutes before Mason began his attack. With the way he was acting, you would think that they hadn't done anything in weeks rather than just a few hours.
"Scream my name, baby." Mason groaned, kissing the side of Danica's neck. "I love that the most."
"MASON... OH GOD....MASON!" Danica screamed as she began to convulse, causing him to jerk and let out a low growl.
Panting, Danica allowed herself to get lost in pleasure as the convulsions continued to consume her. Finished with his work, Mason rolled over, collapsing on the bed beside her.
"What was that for?" Danica asked, rolling over so she could look at him. "You acted like a possessed man."
"That jealousy of yours just drove me wild." Mason smirked, lifting a hand to push a stray strand of hair behind Danica's ear. "I couldn't control myself. You were just too damn cute."
"Right." Danica giggled, moving in closer so she could cuddle her bare body against Mason's.
"Keep that up, and I will jump you again, woman." Mason growled as his eyes darkened.
"Really now." Danica challenged him, pushing her hips harder against his side.
Growling, Mason jumped on Danica, pressing his mouth hard against hers. Sighing, Danica closed her eyes and enjoyed the next round of pleasure that her mate put her through.
Everyone was already in the lobby of the inn waiting when Danica and Mason managed to pry themselves apart and leave the room. Despite trying to pretend like nothing was unusual, it was easy to tell that the group had an idea of what was going on, in particular Chris, who was giving them an envious look.
"Shall we get going?" Mason asked, pretending like nothing was wrong. "I'm sure Arlo has been waiting long enough."
"Whose fault." Chris grumbled, causing Danica to flush bright pink.
Ignoring him, Mason turned and began to head out of the inn. Relieved, she didn't have to face the group of warriors anymore and endure their stares. Danica quickly turned and hurried along behind him.
Outside, the streets had grown bare, indicating that it was what was considered night around the area. Without the help of the sun to tell what time of day it was, it seemed that the amount of movement from the villagers themselves was the only way to indicate what time of day it was.
Looking around, Danica took in the area once more, and despite seeing it with her own eyes, she was still having a hard time understanding how living creatures could possibly flourish here. It was so morbid and depressing, and then again, maybe given the fact that the creatures were used to it, they felt differently.
"It isn't for you to concern yourself with." Mason murmured, leaning close to Danica's ear.
"Stay out of my head." Danica snapped, swatting Mason away.
"Don't think so loud." He shot back with a laugh.
"Could you two please stop flirting?" Chris huffed from behind.
"Mind your own business." Mason chuckled, pulling Danica close and kissing her cheek, just to ruffle Chris' feathers even more.
A unanimous sigh could be heard from the group behind them as they took in their Alpha's shenanigans. Danica wasn't sure, but she didn't think it was a good idea for him to act so carefreely in front of a group of people he was supposed to be the leader of.
"It's fine." Mason insisted, reading her thoughts again.
Growing quiet, the group continued their trek through the elven village until they reached a large mansion in the very center of the area. The place could only be compared to a castle with its grandiose brick walls and pillars. Eyes wide, Danica found herself wondering why Arlo had to live in such luxury while the rest of his people were in huts and cabins.
An older man with long white hair pulled into a ponytail at his neck, dressed in a black butler's outfit, bowed to Mason and Danica as they arrived. Bowing back, they waited as the man fixed his ice-blue gaze on them.
"Are you Alpha Mason?" The man asked, eyeing Mason. "I have been ordered to lead you to the master."
"Yes, that is me." Mason confirmed, frowning slightly. "I can lead myself; you really don't have to go through the trouble."
"No, I do." The man insisted, looking slightly worried.
Placing a hand on Mason's arm, Danica shook her head. It seemed that the man was afraid of Arlo, and she didn't want him to be in any trouble.
"Thank you." She said to the man himself. "If you don't mind, please lead the way."
Nodding in relief, the man turned and began making his way into the large mansion. Again, Danica found herself standing in a much more luxurious building. Like the inn, the interior sported the same white walls and floors with the black furniture, but this place had what looked like exotic plants scattered about in corners and as accent pieces. A much too large waterfall sat in the middle of the entryway to greet guests as well.
"Nice place Arlo has." Danica whispered to Mason, who bit back a laugh.
"Elves tend to be extravagant." He explained, grabbing Danica's hand.
"To this extent?" Danica couldn't help but say: "This is all way too much."
Mason simply shrugged as they continued making their way through the bottom floor, before they began moving up a flight of stairs that led to a loft area that was decorated just like the bottom floor. A door to the right sat slightly ajar, and the butler led them straight to it before knocking.
"You may enter." Arlo's voice called from within.
"This way, please." The old man said, pushing the door open for Mason and Danica to enter. "If the rest of you don't mind, please wait out here."
"I'll be right back." Mason assured his pack members as they gave indignant huffs and growls over being left out of the meeting that was about to be under way. "All of you stay here and behave yourselves."
"Is it okay for me to come too?" Danica asked after Mason began pulling her along. "You're the Alpha; I'm simply a normal woman."
"You are my future Luna; how does that make you a normal woman?" Mason asked, chuckling. "Come on, it is fine for you to take part in this."
Nodding, Danica allowed herself to be dragged into the room. Looking back she watched as the door behind them closed and the old man that had been their guide stepped in front of it, before turning her attention back to the waiting Arlo.
