Chapter 44 Eyes For Just You
Lana’s Point of View
“Lana?” He clicked his tongue together, as if he could taste the name in his mouth, and then he said something that made my heart stop in my chest. “Your name is so beautiful.” He smiled, his eyes brushed over me softly. “Now I want to see what you look like with your hair longer.”
My breath hitched, but I was unable to avoid his eyes. “I think you’d look even more beautiful.”
Beautiful? Me?
He thinks I am beautiful?
The heavy pounding in my chest made me dizzy, and my eyes flickered away from him, my face whipped away from him, trying to hide the color of embarrassment that flushed my cheeks.
“Calm down,” I encouraged myself as I sucked in a deep breath. “Calm down, Lana, don’t act as if you have never been complimented before.”
My hands squeezed the hem of my shirt.
“Ahem…” I cleared my throat, looking around. “Where are you taking me?”
“Well, it was supposed to be a surprise, but since you’re asking,” he glanced at me. “We are going on our first date.”
My heart almost jumped out of my mouth, and for the first time, I could feel the butterflies in my body.
A date.
We are going on a date.
“A date?” I repeated.
“You like that? Now that you know where we are going, is there anywhere you want to go?” It seems like he noticed my reluctance. “You don’t have a choice. You either pick or I’ll pick for you.”
I rolled my eyes.
“If I don’t have a choice, then why did you ask?” I asked curiously, and he just shrugged. “Isn’t this the same as a kidnapping?”
“Did you bring me to a hotel on our first date?” I asked curiously, following him into the establishment.
The moment we stepped into the reception, the scent of polished wood and lavender wafted into my nose. There was a huge crystal chandelier hanging just as soon as you get into the lobby, it was shimmering down, golden lights glossing the marble floor beneath my feet.
It was filled with people, not too many because there was a class of people who were here.
From the view I could see.
Rich businessmen, politicians, and Billionaire CEO.
I became nervous because I had never been in a place like this, with several people of a different social status than me. Christian, on the other hand, remained very confident, with his hands slipped in the pockets of his leather jacket.
He elegantly strutted towards the receptionist, but I kept walking behind him. He seemed to notice my nervousness and then smirked at me.
“Relax, girl.” He suddenly pulled me even closer, his fingers intertwining in mine with a certain degree of possessiveness that felt protective.
“My father has eyes all over the country. I don’t want anyone telling him anything about me.” He answered my earlier question, but it didn’t make anything better.
“And you think coming to a hotel with a male student won’t make it more suspicious?” I asked back.
“One, we are going to have privacy. Two, there is something I would like to try with you.”
My blood turned ice.
Something to try with me? Like what?
Sex?
He should know that I won’t be sleeping with him! Not that I don’t want to, but doing it so soon would make me feel somewhat cheap.
“Hey, love,” he muttered towards the blond reception, the moment she saw him, her eyes lit up, like rockets on Christmas Eve.
“Oh, my God! Mr. Christian!” she squealed, her eyes were wide with excitement, and Christian… he fucking winked at her.
My eyebrows furrowed together, a sudden irritation stirring in my chest.
“Do you need a room?” Her eyes flickered towards me now, and they narrowed. I sensed a little bit of disappointment hidden behind those blue irises. “Is this your friend?”
“A classmate.” He answered, and my frown deepened. “I would need the penthouse; we are here for a group assignment.”
“Oh, okay then, I’ll reserve the penthouse for you.” She said her gaze returned to Christian.
“Can you do me another favor?” he asked and then leaned forward to whisper the rest of the words in her ears. “Can you keep this away from my father?”
“Sure.” She smiled happily.
She passed him a golden card, and he winked again.
He winked at her a total of three times, and she blushed all three times.
“Come with me.” He muttered, and this time, I refused to hold his hands.
“Do you call everyone your love, or is it just her?” The words slipped out of my mouth before I could stop them.
He cocked his neck to the side and smirked.
“Is this you being jealous?” he queried, and my breath hitched.
“No.” I snapped. “I’m not jealous.”
“Really?” he grinned, his fingers tracing my eyebrows as if he was trying to soften the frown that formed there. “Then why do you look so angry?”
The steel doors of the elevator opened, and we both got in. “Didn’t a certain someone say they were not my girlfriend?” He asked, and I rolled my eyes.
“Of course not,” I muttered spitefully. ‘Since winking and calling a lot of girls love is your thing, who would want to date a man like that? ’
At that moment, I felt my legs stumble, and air knocked out of my lungs as I was being slammed into the wall.
“Fine then.” Christian’s hot breath fanned against my face, his thumb some inches away from my lips. “If you don’t like it, then I won’t do it again. I’m never going to look at another woman, not to talk of wink at them.”
My eyes were unable to leave his leaves, which were just a few centimeters away from mine, fuck, my body was getting even hotter now.
“So, would you want to be with a man like me now, love?” A strangled moan escaped me as his thumb rubbed my bottom lip, and his eyes reflected hunger.
Fuck.
