Chapter-HundredThirty Nine, Sealing Spell
Chapter-HundredThirty Nine, Sealing Spell
Lara’s Pov
WE DID IT.
The words echoed through my mind over and over as I stood deep beneath the Blood Moon Pack inside the ancient underground dungeon.
Cold air wrapped around my body while silver torches burned softly against the stone walls, their flames flickering every time dark magic shifted beneath the chambers.
Lucien was finally locked away.
After everything.
After all the death.
All the destruction.
All the lives he ruined.
He was trapped.
Ancient underworld shackles wrapped tightly around his wrists, chest, and throat while glowing silver runes burned across the chains themselves. Every symbol had been forged centuries ago to hold creatures tied to darkness.
And still…
I didn’t trust it.
Not completely.
Because Lucien was the kind of evil that always found cracks to crawl through.
Across from his chamber, separated by three layers of sacred barriers, Gemma rested beneath the sleeping curse.
Silver light surrounded her body softly while ancient runes drifted across the stone floor beneath her bed. Unlike Lucien’s side of the dungeon, her chamber felt peaceful.
Quiet.
Almost holy.
The curse held her in a deep magical sleep while her soul tries to heal from the darkness forced inside her.
She looked fragile.
But alive.
And that alone gave me hope.
I slowly turned looking around the underground halls.
The deeper parts of the dungeon stretched endlessly beneath the Blood Moon Pack, ancient stone carved with protective symbols glowing faintly beneath the torchlight.
Yet even down here…
I could still feel the grief above us.
The Blood Moon Pack once felt like home.
Warm.
Loving.
Full of life.
Now it carried nothing but bloodshed and darkness.
The memories hit me suddenly.
Children running through the pack house halls.
Bonfires beside the lake.
Gemma laughing while Zoe argued with Sean over something stupid.
The kitchens filled with noise.
Families everywhere.
Love everywhere.
And now?
Silence.
Loss.
A pack of over seven hundred reduced to less than one hundred survivors.
My chest tightened painfully.
The grief became too much all at once.
I dropped to my knees before I could stop myself.
A broken breath escaped my chest as tears burned my eyes.
Gods…
It hurt.
Everything hurt.
Immediately strong hands wrapped around me.
“My love?”
Larry’s voice.
Soft.
Gentle.
I looked up finding both Larry and Barry kneeling beside me instantly.
Concern filled their faces.
“What happened?” King Larry asked sweetly while brushing damp hair from my face.
I swallowed hard trying to steady myself.
“Memories,” I whispered painfully. “Unwanted memories.”
Rareview.
The slaughter.
My family.
And now the Blood Moon Pack carrying the same scars.
Barry carefully squeezed my hand.
“You don’t have to carry this alone anymore.”
The words nearly shattered me completely.
Because for so long…
That was exactly what I’d done.
Carried grief alone.
Carried survival alone.
I inhaled slowly before forcing myself back onto my feet.
“We need to finish this spell,” I said quietly. “Then we can send off everyone we lost properly.”
Both kings nodded immediately.
No arguments.
No hesitation.
Together we walked deeper into the dungeon halls toward Lucien’s chamber.
The closer we got, the colder the air became.
Dark magic lingered heavily around his prison despite the underworld shackles suppressing most of his power. Black smoke curled faintly around the floor beneath the chains while ancient runes burned brighter across the walls.
Then suddenly—
Lucien laughed.
The sound echoed violently through the dungeon halls.
Cold.
Mocking.
Inhuman.
The torches flickered wildly.
My wolf snarled instantly beneath my skin.
Barry moved protectively closer to me while Larry’s eyes darkened dangerously.
“I was wondering how long it would take before you came down here,” Lucien said smoothly from the darkness.
I stepped forward slowly.
The silver barriers glowed between us while Lucien remained chained against the far stone wall.
Even restrained…
He radiated danger.
His black eyes locked onto mine instantly.
“You look tired, Lara.”
Hatred twisted violently inside my chest.
I raised both hands immediately ignoring him completely.
Ancient symbols ignited beneath my feet while silver light exploded across the dungeon walls.
“I seal these walls so sound cannot travel through time or cracks” I chanted firmly.
The magic surged instantly.
“Per sanguinem regum… Per legem antiquam… Claudo voces tenebrarum… Nullus sonus egrediatur… Nulla vox audiatur…”
The dungeon trembled softly.
Silver runes spread across the stone walls like fire.
Lucien’s smile faded slightly.
Good.
“I seal these doors,” I continued louder, “so only the blood of kings and alphas may grant passage.”
The kings stepped beside me adding their magic to mine immediately.
“Per sanguinem sacrum… Per portas aeternas… Claudimus ingressum… Solum rex… Solum alpha… Intrare potest…”
Massive silver symbols exploded across the dungeon entrance.
The ancient doors slammed shut violently.
BOOM.
The sound echoed through the underground halls while layers of magic wrapped around the prison completely.
The air shifted instantly.
Locked.
Protected.
Contained.
The underworld shackles were designed to suppress and dormant Lucien’s powers.
But there was no way of knowing how long they would hold.
And I refused to take chances.
Not with him.
Not after everything.
I slowly stepped closer toward the barrier separating us.
“Lucien,” I said coldly. “I bet you didn’t count on seeing me again.”
A dark smile crossed his face instantly.
“No,” he admitted softly. “But I’m glad you came.”
The bastard still sounded calm.
Like this was all some game to him.
His black eyes slowly moved over me carefully.
“You survived,” he murmured. “I always wondered if you would.”
My hands clenched instantly.
“You destroyed my family.”
“And yet here you stand.”
Hatred burned hotter inside me.
Lucien tilted his head slightly studying me through the silver barrier.
“You know,” he said quietly, “we’re not so different.”
Barry growled immediately.
“Watch your mouth.”
Lucien ignored him entirely.
“You carry darkness too, Lara,” he continued smoothly. “Pain. Rage. Grief. I can feel it.”
I stayed silent.
Because part of me hated how right he sounded.
Darkness changes people.
And surviving monsters sometimes leaves scars too deep to heal.
Lucien’s voice lowered softer.
“I could help you.”
Larry scoffed sharply.
“Help?”
“Yes.” Lucien smiled slightly. “I can bring back what she lost.”
My heart stopped briefly.
No.
He was lying.
He had to be.
But the way he said it…
The way he looked at me…
He knew exactly where to strike.
“Your family,” he whispered carefully. “Rareview. The dead do not stay unreachable forever now that the realms are broken.”
Pain twisted violently through my chest.
For one horrible second…
I wanted to believe him.
I wanted my mother back.
My father.
My brother.
The life stolen from me.
Lucien saw the hesitation instantly.
His smile widened.
“All you have to do is let me out.”
Silence filled the dungeon.
Even the torches seemed to dim.
Then slowly—
I laughed.
Not because anything was funny.
Because I finally understood something.
Lucien didn’t just destroy people through power.
He destroyed them through grief.
Through hope.
Through temptation.
I stepped closer to the barrier until silver light reflected across my skin.
“You still don’t understand,” I whispered.
Lucien frowned slightly.
Tears burned my eyes as I slowly pulled a silver blade from my belt.
“My family may be gone…”
I sliced the blade across my palm sharply.
Blood dripped instantly onto the glowing runes beneath my feet.
“But I would rather carry grief forever than become what you are.”
The dungeon shook violently.
Ancient magic exploded outward from my blood while the kings stepped beside me immediately adding their power.
I raised my bleeding hand toward the ceiling.
“Per sanguinem meum… Per animam fractam… Per lumen aeternum… Damno tenebras ad vincula!”
Silver fire erupted across the chamber.
Lucien’s expression darkened instantly.
The chains around him tightened violently.
I continued louder.
“By blood willingly given… By the ancient laws of kings… By grief carried and survived… I seal this darkness beneath sacred stone!”
The runes ignited brighter.
“Claudimus animam corruptam… Ligamus potestatem inferni… Nulla fuga… Nulla lux falsa… Nulla resurrectio!”
Lucien roared as the shackles burned brighter around him.
Dark smoke exploded from his body violently but the barriers held firm.
I forced more magic into the seal.
“Until the moon falls from the sky… Until the oceans run dry… Until sacred blood breaks willingly…”
My voice hardened completely.
“You will remain forgotten here.”
Then finally—
“Per sanguinem regum et lunae… Ego te condemno.”
BOOM.
Silver light exploded across the dungeon walls.
The final seal locked into place.
And Lucien’s screams vanished into silence.
