Chapter-HundredThirty Two, Mind Travel Spell
Chapter-HundredThirty Two, Mind Travel Spell
Zoe’s POV — Part One
I will save my mate.
I didn’t care what magic it took.
I didn’t care what darkness waited for me inside Sean’s mind.
I didn’t care if the curse tried trapping me too.
Nothing would stop me.
Not hell.
Not Luicen.
Not death itself.
Because Sean was suffering alone somewhere in the darkness while I stood here breathing safely inside this cabin.
That thought alone made me feel sick.
The mate bond burned painfully inside my chest now.
Not warmth.
Pain.
Fear.
Agony.
Every emotion leaking through Sean’s soul clawed against mine violently.
He was breaking.
I could feel it.
The cabin had gone deathly silent around us after Maggie explained the dream curse.
Even the storm outside sounded distant now compared to the roaring panic inside my chest.
I stood in the middle of the living room trying to steady my breathing while silver sparks flickered uncontrollably around my hands.
Across from me, Maggie watched carefully.
Pale.
Still.
Dead.
Yet somehow comforting.
Emily stood beside her near the fireplace while King Larry, his mate, and the others formed a circle around the room.
Protection.
Anchors.
If this spell failed—
They would need to drag me back.
The thought terrified me.
But not enough to stop.
Nothing could stop me now.
I looked directly at Maggie.
“Maggie,” I whispered shakily. “Give me the spell.”
The room instantly grew colder.
The fire inside the fireplace darkened blue again.
Maggie slowly stepped closer toward me.
“You need to understand something first,” she said softly.
I clenched my fists tightly.
“I don’t care how dangerous this is.”
“You should.”
Her voice echoed strangely beneath the storm outside.
“Dream walking isn’t normal magic, Zoe.” Her pale eyes locked onto mine. “You are about to tie your soul directly to Sean’s nightmare.”
A shiver crawled down my spine.
“If the curse notices you,” Emily added quietly, “it will try to trap you inside it too.”
King Larry growled low beneath his breath immediately.
My own wolf stirred nervously beneath my skin.
Fear clawed through me.
Real fear.
But then the mate bond pulsed again.
Pain.
Sean’s pain.
And suddenly fear didn’t matter anymore.
“I’m going,” I whispered firmly.
Maggie studied me for several long seconds.
Then finally—
She nodded.
“Sit in the center of the circle.”
I obeyed immediately.
The wooden floor felt freezing beneath my legs as I lowered myself into the middle of the room.
Around me, the others began moving carefully.
Emily scattered black ash in a large circle around my body while King Larry carved glowing symbols into the floorboards using dragon fire.
Ancient runes.
Protection magic.
The air became heavier with every second.
Magic thickened around the cabin walls until it became difficult to breathe properly.
Lara stepped beside me quietly before placing both hands on my shoulders.
“You focus only on Sean,” she whispered gently. “Nothing else.”
I nodded shakily.
I could do that.
Sean was already all I could think about.
His smile.
His laugh.
The way he held me when nightmares woke me up shaking.
The way he looked at me like I mattered.
Tears burned my eyes instantly.
God.
What if I was too late?
The mate bond pulsed violently again.
Pain.
Fear.
Hopelessness.
A broken sob nearly escaped me.
“He’s getting worse,” I whispered.
Maggie knelt down directly in front of me.
“Then listen carefully.”
The room fell silent.
Even the storm outside seemed quieter somehow.
“This spell opens the mind through soul connection,” Maggie explained softly. “You cannot force your way into Sean’s dreams.”
I frowned slightly.
“Then how do I enter?”
“You let the bond guide you.”
Emily moved closer now holding a silver bowl filled with glowing black water.
“Dream magic follows emotion,” she whispered.
Maggie nodded slowly.
“You must think of him. Feel him. Love him strongly enough that your soul recognizes his.”
Tears slid silently down my face.
That part was easy.
I loved Sean more than life itself.
Maggie slowly took my hands.
Her skin felt freezing cold.
“When the spell begins,” she warned carefully, “you may see things that aren’t real.”
Fear curled inside me again.
“The curse will try breaking you too.”
King Larry suddenly stepped closer.
“If it gets dangerous, we pull her out immediately.”
“No,” I said instantly.
Everyone looked toward me.
I swallowed hard before repeating myself.
“No matter what happens… don’t pull me out.”
Shock crossed several faces.
“Zoe—” Lara started.
“If Sean’s trapped in there suffering alone,” I whispered brokenly, “then I’m staying with him until I bring him back.”
Silence followed.
Heavy silence.
Then finally—
Maggie squeezed my hands gently.
“Close your eyes.”
I obeyed immediately.
Darkness swallowed me.
But beneath it—
I could feel Sean.
Faint.
Distant.
Hurting.
The mate bond pulsed weakly through my chest like a dying heartbeat.
Maggie’s voice echoed softly around me.
“Repeat the spell carefully.”
Magic stirred violently inside the cabin.
I could feel it crawling beneath my skin.
Ancient.
Dangerous.
Alive.
Then Maggie began chanting.
“Per animam et cor coniunctum…”
(Through soul and heart connected…)
The air thickened instantly.
“Per vinculum lunae aperi mentem…”
(Through the moon bond open the mind…)
Silver fire erupted around my body violently.
I gasped sharply.
The mate bond burned white-hot inside my chest.
“Duc me ad eum quem amo…”
(Guide me to the one I love…)
Sean.
I focused entirely on Sean.
His voice.
His scent.
His touch.
Everything.
“Per somnia et tenebras ambulem…”
(Through dreams and darkness let me walk…)
The cabin vanished for half a second.
I heard distant screaming.
Sean screaming.
Tears instantly streamed harder down my face.
“Sean…”
“Do not lose focus,” Maggie warned sharply.
I inhaled shakily before continuing.
“Aperi viam inter mentes…”
(Open the path between minds…)
The mate bond exploded violently inside my chest.
Pain slammed through me instantly.
Not mine.
Sean’s.
God.
The agony nearly knocked the breath from my lungs.
I could feel fear consuming him.
Hopelessness.
Grief.
The curse was tearing him apart.
“Per amorem inveniam animam eius…”
(Through love I shall find his soul…)
Everything around me began spinning violently.
The cabin.
The storm.
The voices.
Gone.
Darkness swallowed me whole.
I was falling.
Falling endlessly through cold black nothingness while whispers echoed all around me.
Nightmare magic.
I could feel it trying to touch me.
Trying to pull me deeper.
Then suddenly—
I saw it.
Sean.
Chained.
Screaming.
Blood covered his hands while creatures ripped people apart around him.
My heart shattered instantly.
“NO!”
The nightmare shifted violently toward me.
Like it noticed me.
Fear exploded through my chest.
The darkness rushed toward me hungrily.
“Zoe!” Emily’s distant voice shouted somewhere far away. “Anchor yourself!”
I focused desperately on Sean again.
Not the nightmare.
Sean.
My mate.
The male who loved me.
The male waiting for me somewhere beneath the horror.
The bond pulsed suddenly.
Warm.
Strong.
There you are.
I reached toward him instinctively.
Silver light exploded from my chest violently.
The nightmare cracked.
Fire vanished instantly.
The screaming stopped.
Darkness shattered around us.
And suddenly—
Everything changed.
Warm sunlight touched my skin softly.
Wind brushed gently through tall grass.
The smell of summer flowers filled the air.
I stumbled slightly before looking around in shock.
A field.
Endless green grass stretched beneath a bright summer sky while golden sunlight poured across the earth peacefully.
No blood.
No monsters.
No screams.
Silence.
Beautiful silence.
And standing several feet away from me—
Sean.
Alone.
Just the two of us.
