Work Her Last Nerve (Part II)

Work Her Last Nerve (Part II)
Brenda sat in the garden, texting on her phone. Placing her nose in the air, she called over her shoulder, “You know I can sense you, right?”

Fontaine let out a chuckle. “Yeah, which is why I’m assuming you’re dressed the way you are.” Pure amusement found his face as he looked at the long sheet that covered her entire body. Paired with dark glasses that she’d quickly put over her eyes, Brenda worked overtime to make sure she couldn’t see, or be seen. He shook his head. “Fucking hell, you’re insane. You look like a low budget ghost.”

A smile found itself on Stephan’s face as he approached, making sure she didn’t hear him. The same one plastered itself on Fontaine’s face when he spotted him because what Ericka made them realize was that, technically, they had the upper hand. They’d seen the back of what their mate looked like, while she had no clue as to any of their important features. And since Brenda—like the other women in the house—was a small wolf with a big bite, they both knew exactly how to get under her skin.

She folded her arms to her chest. “First of all, the only low budget thing out here is your ankles. That’s why I had to get a little disrespectful earlier with my crossover. May as well call me Jesus the way I turned them things into wine.”

Fontaine let out a laugh. “That was funny, I’ll give you that, but don’t let it go to your already big ass head.”

“I do not have a big head!” she seethed. “Besides, I don’t have to see it to know yours is large.”

He smirked. “Pretty sure you felt it was, though.” The way the sheet moved, he knew her mouth dropped, and he stifled his laugh.

“That was an accident, and you know it!” she shouted.

“Do I? For all, I know you could be a full out pervert.”

Before she could respond, she realized he’d distracted her from sensing Stephan. She growled. “Oh, that was a dirty thing to do.”

Stephan muse to Fontaine. “Uh oh, our pervy mate is pissed with you.”

“I’m not a pervert!” she whined.

He shook his head in amusement. “Ah, I see, my mistake. I misinterpreted the free lap dance I was subjected to as you making sexual advances towards me.”

“I accidentally backed into you, and you know that as well!” Under the sheet, she sneered. “And by the way, the phrase is ‘there’s a snake in my boots’, not in your pants, Woody.”

He let out a light chuckle. “Fair enough. However, I feel like that’s a normal response when you’re being smothered by an ass that can’t seem to figure out how to stay in the clothing draped over it.”

Brenda growled again from under the sheet. “Don’t talk about my ass.”

Fontaine shrugged. “Why? Is it gonna get angry, and feast on us the way it’s engulfing your skirt?”

“My skirt is supposed to fit the way it does! I’m alternative, it pairs with the spiked garters!” she huffed. “My ass fits my frame just fine; it’s called being funsized, dick.”

Fontaine’s eyes gleamed. “There’s so much I want to do with that statement—and consequently you—but I don’t want to miss the blush that I know is getting worse by the second under that sheet.”

Flustered and red in the face, Brenda grumbled. “I’m not blushing. Shut up, Fontaine.”

He grinned. “Hey, Bren, how did you know I was Fontaine? Nobody specified whose voice was whose.”

Stephen laughed at her silence. “Oh my! I believe she likes us enough to have figured it out,” he teased.

“I don’t like you!” she screamed. “You’re both working my last nerve.”

Stephan chuckled and placed his hand over his chest in dramatics. “Mhm, well, all I know is you better remember my name, or my feelings are going to be hurt.” Brenda found herself completely pissed at the fact they were teasing her. Her eyes tinged slightly, until she heard him say, “Damn, she really forgot my name.”

She sighed in irritation. “I know your damn name, Stephan. You’re the one who smells like a nice rain, and whose voice is slightly higher, but not by much. The inflection of your words is gentler, with a pause before to ensure you say the right thing.”

Stephan’s eyes shot to Fontaine, who stared at him in shock. “How the hell did you—”

She raised her hand, silencing him. “I know Ericka told you about me, and how to get under my skin, and while, yes, you both just pissed me off, it’s not gonna work.” She paced back and forth; her nerves completely shot. “You two wanna do this? Fine, let’s go. Stephan—if I had to guess—the reason you’re so cautious is that you don’t want to offend anyone. You probably were teased a lot growing up, so you make it your prerogative to make sure you—nor anyone else around you—makes someone feel low on themself. You don’t get angry fast, but when you do, you’ll beat the hell out of someone, and it bothers you that for all the advancements that you’ve made, you still sometimes feel like that little boy that people treated as if he didn’t exist.”

Folding her arms to her chest, she waited for him to disagree. When he didn’t, she nodded. “Mhm, that’s what I thought. Now Fontaine, you smell like lightly finished walnut wood. You might come off to many people as harder to read, but it’s just because they aren’t paying attention. The inflection of your words is harsher, but it’s not because you don’t care. It’s because much like I use laughter as my defense mechanism, you use what everybody constantly praises you for; your build, and your ability to handle your own. That’s not all there is to you though, and you hate that other people don’t always see that. You probably had so many fake people around you, you have no clue at times who is legit. Yet, like Stephan, you’ll go to war for those who need it, and when you feel comfortable, you turn into a protective teddy bear.”

Fontaine rubbed the back of his neck. “I uh... I don’t... what the hell was that?!”

She laughed. “I’ve gotten great at reading people. I refuse to make the same mistake twice.”

“You mean Alpha Colin?” Stephan asked, and they saw her flinch.

“I don’t want to talk about that.” Groaning, she sat back down. “You both really seem nice, but I’ve already been down that road.”

“Not with us,” Fontaine countered, causing her to groan again. “Look, we’re not going to push you—hell, we don’t even know if we’ll imprint. If you’re dead set on this, though, we’ll respect it.”

Stephan nodded. “Yup, but the way I figure it doesn’t mean we can’t be friends, right? We’re all a part of the same pack, and it gets hot as hell around here in the summer. You keep bundling yourself up like that, you’re going to pass out.” Fontaine walked over to her and placed his hands on her glasses. Stephan joined his side and grabbed onto the sheet. “Will you please take this stuff off now?” he asked.

Sighing, she nodded. They removed the items, and she finally opened her eyes, and they landed on two taunt muscular stomachs that peeked through uniforms. Her lips parted at the realization that they both towered over her. As if in a horror movie, Brenda looked up slowly, and locked eyes with a pair of beautiful hazel ones that soon shifted to gold like hers. She tilted her head, taking in his smooth rich chocolate skin, and well-groomed beard which accentuated lips that made her face turn redder than it already was. She cleared her throat and stammered, “Fontaine, I-I like your uh...” She could hardly get the words out. He laughed, but continued to eye her hungrily, causing her to turn the other way in nervousness.

Stephan’s green eyes gleamed in amusement at her the moment hers turned to gold again, making his shift too. She noted the warmness of his olive skin and his low-cut curly hair that made her want to run her fingers through it. He gave her a simple grin, and when she saw his elongated canines, she shook her head. “Fucking hell, as if I don’t already have a biting fetish,” she murmured. He smirked at her, and the playful gesture made her turn away again, slightly nervous. She heard the soft call from her wolf for her mates, and she grumbled under her breath at the imprinting. “Of fucking course.”

Stephan linked to Fontaine after hearing his own wolf, “So, are we in agreement that we’re going to share because I’m not backing down.”

“Neither am I. My wolf has made that very clear. So, I guess it’s settled. We have a shared mate.”

The more they looked at her, the more they found themselves unable to keep their eyes from changing. She was as stunning as they had a feeling she would be, making them want to punch Chuckie and Ricky even more for their comments. Her hair was in a large bun on the top of her head with single unruly strands that framed her face. Her caramel skin held red on her cheeks from blushing, and she had bright brown eyes that changed like theirs, letting them know she felt the connection as well. But the thing that caught them was how unique she really was; a feature that no one mentioned. The patches of smooth pinkish white skin that framed her full lips and button nose caused them to look at her more intensely.

“I have vitiligo!” she blurted out of nervousness. “It’s really nothing to stare at.” Feeling slightly self-conscious at how quiet they were, she glared at them. “Look, if you two have a prob —”

Stephan shook his head. “No. I think Fontaine will agree that we both think you’re really beautiful.”

Seeing Fontaine nod before smiling at her, she tried her best to maintain her glare. “Well—hmph—I am underwhelmed. Fontaine, your head should have its own page in the Guinness World Records, and Stephan, never make another comment about my ass when yours looks like it claps if you walk down the steps too fast.” The smirk on her face made them belt a laugh, and she shook her head. “Just playing.
Y’all both fine as hell, and I’m mad about it.”

“Can you be mad, and still say yes?” Stephan asked.

“To what?”

“A date with us.”

“And what are we going to do on this date?”

Fontaine chuckled, and his and Stephan’s eyes tinged. “Anything you can handle, funsized,” he teased.

Her mouth parted slightly, and she quickly recovered, before letting out a whine. “Of fucking course! I’m in a drought and I would get mated to two walking, talking, dicks on legs.” Hearing them laugh, she shook her head in amusement before saying, “Go on a date with you both? I’d love to.”
