Chapter 80
Bella.
As Daniel and I sat together on the couch, the television blaring the news about Christina's exposure, I couldn't help but feel a sense of vindication. The truth about her manipulative and psychopathic nature was finally out in the open, and the world was seeing her for who she truly was.
It all started a few weeks ago, after it suddenly occurred to me that the best way to get rid of a person like Christina, was by showing the world who she really was behind the facade she had on. For someone who was viewed as a public figure, Christina was completely terrible, and I knew that I needed to help Daniel get rid of her before she did something even crazier to try to get what she wanted.
"I still can't believe she was the same woman I considered my friend for years," Daniel muttered, shaking his head in disbelief.
"Don't beat yourself up over it," I said, placing a reassuring hand on his arm. "People like her are experts at hiding their true selves. Just be happy that she's getting exposed now, just like she deserves to be," I said to him.
Daniel nodded, his expression still troubled. "I just can't believe I was so blind to it all those years. Even after finding out, I still can't believe how far she's willing to go just to enact her crazy desire. I would have never thought she'd end up like this," he replied, and I sighed.
"You were just trying to see the best in her," I said. "But now that we know the truth, we can move forward and leave all of this behind us."
As we continued to watch the news, I couldn't help but recall the day we confronted Daniel's father about our supposed engagement. We had hatched a plan to trap Christina and ruin her publicly. We knew she was impulsive, and we used that against her.
I remembered the shock on Daniel's father's face when we told him we were getting married. He was initially skeptical, but we played our parts convincingly, and he eventually gave us his blessings. We knew that once the news got out, Christina would react exactly how we wanted her to.
And, boy, did she react. When she heard the news of our 'engagement,' she stormed into our lives with fury, unleashing a torrent of insults and threats. Little did she know that we had recorded the entire encounter, capturing her true colors on tape.
Using her impulsiveness against her, we leaked the recording to the media, and it spread like wildfire. The public turned against her, and her carefully crafted crumbled before her eyes. It was a satisfying feeling to know that we had outsmarted her and put an end to her reign of manipulation.
I looked at Daniel, who had a mix of emotions on his face as he watched the news. "I can't believe she was the same woman I considered my friend for years," he muttered, shaking his head in disbelief.
"Don't feel bad for her," I reassured him, placing a comforting hand on his shoulder. "She brought this on herself with her own actions. All we need to do now is put the past behind us and look forward to the future."
Daniel gave me a grateful smile, his eyes filled with love and admiration. "You're right, Bella. I'm just glad we're finally free from her insane plotting."
I nodded, feeling a weight lifted off my shoulders as well. It had been a long and challenging journey, but we had come out stronger on the other side. Our relationship had grown deeper and more meaningful, and I knew that we were meant to be together.
As the news continued, they showed footage of Christina misbehaving in public, causing a scene and embarrassing herself. It was clear that her impulsive actions were now working against her, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction in seeing her downfall.
We continued to watch, and I couldn't help but recall my recent journey with my art pieces as well. I entered a competition a few weeks ago and had been struggling to find my inspiration. For weeks, I felt like my pieces were falling short of everyone's expectations, and it was frustrating.
But then, something clicked after Daniel and I got together. I found a new sense of inspiration and motivation, and my art began to reflect an even better side of me that I never knew existed.
I poured my heart and soul into my work, and the judges noticed. To my surprise and delight, I won the competition and was going to have my works amongst the works that'd be exhibited in New York.
"I can't believe it," I said, turning to Daniel with a wide smile. "I finally found my inspiration again, and everything else is just falling into place."
"That's amazing, Bella!" Daniel exclaimed, pulling me into a tight hug. "I always knew you were incredibly talented, and even though I may not understand your craft, I know how hard you work, and I am proud of you."
As we basked in the joy of my success, we started discussing our plans for the future. Daniel asked if I intended to get married anytime soon.
"Well," I said, considering his question, "if you mean marrying you, I don't have anything against being your wife. But I want to make a name for myself as a standalone artist first. I don't want everything to be handed to me just because I'm associated with you."
Daniel nodded understandingly. "Of course, I completely support that. I want you to be successful on your own terms."
We spent the rest of the evening wrapped up in each other's arms, dreaming about the future and all the adventures we would embark on together. We knew that life would throw challenges our way, but as long as we had each other, we could conquer anything.
And so, as the night turned into day, we looked forward to the future with hope and excitement, knowing that no matter what, we had each other's love and support, and I had already found my permanent muse.
The End.
