Chapter 94: I want to join your pack

Chapter 94: I want to join your pack
Julian buried Lilithia's body deep inside the woods, where he was sure no one would ever find it.

He dug a shallow grave, kicked her body inside along with her severed head, and covered it up. Then he turned and walked away without a backward glance.

There was no remorse in his eyes. He didn't regret killing her, even though she was his mate, even when he felt an excruciating pain in his heart, a pain that meant the bond between them had been severed.

Apart from the pull of the mate bond, he felt nothing for her. She only helped him escape for her own selfish gain. And she had to die, because he didn't want her.

There was only one woman meant for him, one woman who would always hold his heart.

Gwendolyn.

He had fallen too deep in love with her, and his love had slowly turned into obsession.

She was the one he wanted, the only woman he craved. They would have been together if Kieran hadn't chosen to show himself in their pack that fateful morning.

Now he lost her. But he didn't despair. He didn't give up. He would get her eventually. He just needed to change sides. And he knew exactly what he had to do.

There was only one man who hated Kieran as much as he did. Ragnar Thorne, ruler of Silvercrest pack in the east side realm.

And if there was someone he could trust to destroy Kieran, it was him. He just had to push the right buttons and play the right cards.

After he buried Lilithia, he began his journey to the Silvercrest pack. He traveled at night in his wolf form, covering the distance quickly, then rested during the day.

He had just one motive on his mind. Kill Kieran. Then he would be able to live with Gwendolyn, the love of his life.

He arrived at Silvercrest at dusk. Immediately the werewolf guards realized he was a lycan, they stopped him.

"You have no business here, mutt!" One snarled, pushing a spear towards Julian's chest.

Julian looked at him coldly. The word 'mutt' infuriated him.

"As much as you hate to admit it, your kind and my kind are alike. It takes a mutt to know one."

"I will have you killed on the spot!" The guard jabbed the spear into Julian's chest and pushed back.

Julian stared back calmly. "I'm only here to see Lord Ragnar. Let me through."

"What audacity!" The guard snarled. "What gives you the right to stand here and demand to see the Lord of Silvercrest? Lycans are not welcome here. The punishment is death!"

"I wonder how Lord Ragnar will choose to kill you when he realizes you killed the only person who brought him news about Kieran's mate."

The guards fell silent instantly. From the expression on their faces, Julian knew he had them. They knew about Ragnar's interest in Gwendolyn.

His lips pulled up into a smug smile. "Let me through!"

The first guard who stopped him moved away, but he didn't step aside. He turned to the other guard behind him.

"Helsing, inform the warriors that Lord Ragnar has a guest with important information. Now!"

Helsing turned and hurried into the pack, leaving Julian in the midst of the other guards.

Julian waited patiently, knowing the guards wouldn't dare hurt him. He had the upper hand.

Apparently, he had no plans of telling Ragnar about Gwendolyn. He only used that to get their attention. What he really wanted was an audience with Ragnar, and to plot a way to destroy Kieran. That was all that mattered to him.

A few minutes later, Helsing returned.

"Lord Ragnar will see you now." He said.

Julian deliberately brushed past the first guard and followed Helsing into the pack. He looked ahead, ignoring the stares the werewolves and Wilding's gave him.

They knew he was a lycan from his scent, and they glared hatefully at him.

Helsing led Julian towards the pack house where Ragnar was waiting, staring at the door. The moment Julian stepped in, he turned fully.

"Leave us." He muttered to Helsing.

Helsing bowed and retreated quickly. After he left, Ragnar beckoned to Julian.

"You have information about the girl?" He demanded.

"I'm only aware of where she is, just as you're aware. Nightshade pack." Julian answered.

Ragnar frowned. "You told the guards you had information about her. What is the information?"

"I only said that so I would be granted entrance to see you. I've come to join your pack, Lord Ragnar, if you'll have me."

Ragnar glared silently at him for a moment. Then his frown deepened.

"You." He said suddenly. "I remember you. You're the mutt from Kieran's pack. The one who was captured with the girl."

Julian looked away. He hadn't expected Ragnar to recognize him.

"Yes. My name is Julian."

Ragnar moved suddenly, his form blurring across the room. He grabbed Julian around the throat and slammed him against the wall.

Julian winced, pain exploding behind his head and his back.

"What are you doing in my pack?!" Ragnar roared. "Is this some sort of trap? Are you working as a spy for Kieran?"

Julian struggled to speak through the tight grip around his throat. "I swear... I don't work for that bastard! He had me imprisoned and tortured..."

"Why are you here?" Ragnar snarled.

"I want to join your pack. I'm ready to swear my allegiance and loyalty to you, Lord Ragnar."

"What makes you think I would let a lycan be part of my pack?"

"Because I know you want Kieran dead. I know you want to be Alpha of Nightshade pack. I can help you!"

Ragnar glared at him a moment longer before releasing him.

Julian crashed to the floor, gasping for air. The claw marks around his neck slowly healed up and he was finally able to breathe.

"How do you know I want Kieran dead?" Ragnar asked calmly this time.

"Back at Nightshade pack, people talk. I hear a lot of gossip."

"Why do you want Kieran dead too?"

"Because he stole my woman." Julian snarled. "He took her away from me, charmed her, made her forget about me."

"She is his mate."

"She hates him. I know Gwen. She will never fall for a Wilding hybrid. She will never fall for the man who destroyed her pack, killed her father and abducted her mother. She doesn't know what she's doing, and I have to save her."

"Then you wasted your time coming here." Ragnar muttered. "I want the girl dead. She isn't ordinary." He almost added that he would like to fuck her before she died, but he stopped himself. That was his own personal plan.

"Lord Ragnar, think about it." Julian continued. "If you become the Alpha of Nightshade, you will have command over everyone. All I ask is that you let Gwen and I be together."

Ragnar remained silent for a moment. Then a dark expression took over his face. He turned back to Julian.

"Very well. What's your plan to kill Kieran?"
