Chapter 91 Believe in Her, She Can Do It
"Dr. Wilson, what do we do?"
Mia was sprayed with blood all over her face from the patient's sudden bleeding. In this critical moment, she said anxiously, "Quick, find the bleeding point and stop it."
"The bleeding won't stop."
Mia's hand trembled, and the scalpel fell to the ground with a sharp clatter. She picked it up in a panic, clearly losing her composure.
Joseph narrowed his eyes, watching this scene anxiously. "Your star student." He turned to the doctor behind him and said, "Go get Ava right now."
Several doctors immediately went out to find Ava.
"Joseph, we can't find Dr. Davis."
"What?" Joseph looked worried.
The cold alarm of the monitor echoed throughout the operating room. Barry watched this scene, his brow furrowing involuntarily, muttering, "This shouldn't be happening."
"Look! Who's that?" a doctor exclaimed.
Everyone's eyes turned toward the operating room.
"The person in the operating room is Ava!" said a sharp-eyed doctor.
Looking through the large floor-to-ceiling glass window into the operating room, a woman in green scrubs had already taken over the scalpel.
"Ava, you!" Mia's eyes widened. The dangerous and critical situation forced her to step away from the surgery. Even though she was unwilling, Ava had already taken over the operation.
But given the patient's current condition...
A cold smile formed beneath her mask. If Ava took over this surgery, she would be the one responsible in the end. If she couldn't save the patient, Ava would be finished.
"Bleeding point located."
"Turn on the suction."
"Control the bleeding point."
"Bleeding point controlled."
Everyone in both the operating room and observation room breathed a huge sigh of relief.
Ava operated methodically, her eyes falling on the timer in front of her, already planning out the surgical procedure in her mind.
"What is she doing?" The doctors in the observation room couldn't help but stand up.
"This is ridiculous," Barry said angrily. "There's only one hour left, and she still wants to treat the patient using her surgical plan? Is she crazy? Not to mention whether she has the skills to complete the surgery she proposed, there simply isn't enough time."
"Yeah, this is too risky." Many attending physicians nearby agreed. "Mr. Miller..."
"Trust her." Joseph's brow furrowed tightly, his eyes fixed on the surgery inside.
Ten minutes, twenty minutes, thirty minutes—every minute was excruciating.
Ava remained methodical and precise, her clear eyes serious and determined.
"Ten minutes left," a nearby doctor reminded nervously.
Ava didn't panic, her expression serious and determined.
"Four minutes and ten seconds."
Ava looked up. "That's it. Check and prepare to close the chest and suture."
Complete silence fell both inside and outside the operating room. Mia stood frozen to the side, looking at Ava as if she had lost her soul.
How is this possible? How on earth is this possible? How did she do it?
Ava noticed the surrounding gazes and quietly reminded, "Suture."
"Yes." The doctor beside her immediately responded and handed over the suture thread.
"How did she do it?" Not a single doctor in the observation room who had just witnessed that scene could sit still. They all stood up one by one, mouths hanging open.
She actually did it, within one hour. What kind of terrifying existence was this? And right now, the patient was out of danger.
Truly incredible.
Barry had been staring at the surgery the whole time, his eyes shining with an almost mesmerized look. Only now did he realize how foolish his earlier distrust of Ava had been.
She really could do it, and not only that, she completed it so perfectly in such a short time.
Even after the surgery ended, Barry remained stunned for several seconds before turning to look at Joseph and slowly saying, "You were right. She's not simple at all. Maybe I can understand your choice now."
Facing unexpected situations calmly, possessing absolute confidence and ability—just as she said, her confidence came from her exceptional skills.
That's right, she did it.
She was a doctor who could make correct judgments extremely quickly, with both courage and strategy, and convincing surgical skills.
Joseph's eyes were unusually bright, the smile on his lips showing his current mood perfectly. He proudly lifted his chin. "From the first moment I saw her in Astoria, she's given me endless surprises. I told you, trust her. She can do it."
Ava's abilities never needed to be questioned.
Barry squinted suspiciously. "Astoria?"
Astoria...
When Ava came out of the operating room, she saw Joseph and Barry standing not far ahead, as if waiting for her. Ava raised her eyebrows slightly and walked over.
"Mr. Miller, Mr. Myers."
Mr. Miller hadn't stopped smiling since watching the surgery. "Ava, I knew you could do it. You're the hero of this surgery."
Ava smiled gently and said calmly, "You're too kind. I just did what was within my abilities."
"Being modest today?" Barry teased with a smile.
"It's rare to see you smiling when you talk to me, Mr. Myers." Ava's clear voice carried a hint of amusement.
"Still holding a grudge?"
"Wouldn't dare." Ava joked.
Just then Mia came out. Hearing the sound, several people looked over from a distance. Seeing this scene, Mia's expression could only be described as gloomy, grinding her teeth in anger.
In her heart, she had already torn Ava to pieces. It was all her fault that she had lost face.
It was all her fault.
Mia walked over reluctantly. Ava raised her eyebrows slightly, her expression full of indifference.
Mia looked haggard, with a sickly appearance. She forced a stiff smile. "Dr. Davis, thank you for helping me today."
"Sorry, I wasn't helping you." Ava sneered coldly.
She was trying to save the patient, not wanting the patient to suffer because of Mia's competition with her.
Mia pulled at the corners of her mouth coldly, unable to squeeze out even a hint of a smile.
"You guys chat. I still have a few patients waiting." Ava nodded politely to Joseph and Barry, then turned and left.
Mia watched Ava's slender figure, an uncontrollable surge of anger rising in her heart.
This surgery would definitely cause quite a stir.
After Ava finished seeing her patients, she noticed it was time to get off work and left with her bag.
As soon as she left the hospital, she saw Joshua's car parked at the hospital entrance. The person inside seemed to notice her, and the rear window rolled down, revealing Joshua's handsome profile.
