Chapter 110 Creating a Beauty
Seeing Ava agree, Samuel gave Joshua a thumbs up behind her back. Joshua really had a way with things.
"I'll have Samuel take you there first. I still have some things to handle and will arrive later, okay?"
"Okay."
After hanging up, Joshua placed his phone on the desk, a faint smile playing at the corners of his mouth, as if he'd just accomplished something major.
The people below had never seen Joshua like this before, and couldn't help but stare.
Joshua was clearly immersed in being in love.
Joshua was dating someone?
And that woman just now - Joshua was rushing to throw her a birthday party?
Who among them had ever seen Joshua like this?
Joshua lifted his eyes, his deep gaze as cold as ever, sweeping lightly over everyone below. He glanced at the clock hanging on the wall.
His thin lips parted slightly, his deep voice cold and devoid of warmth. "You have one hour."
Everyone shuddered.
Joshua had just given them an ultimatum.
He wanted them to finish their reports within an hour, end the meeting, and not delay him from attending Ava's birthday party.
Everyone immediately perked up, not daring to waste even a minute, their speech naturally speeding up.
Samuel drove Ava home first.
Ava sent the evening's address to the colleague group chat. Just as she expected, the moment the message went out, the group erupted in heated discussion.
"Veridian Heights, am I seeing this right Ava? Veridian Heights, the legendary seven-star hotel that only serves VIPs. You actually booked a private room there. You must be so rich, Ava. Are you actually a wealthy person just working at the hospital to experience life?"
"Are you sure there's no mistake? Am I really not dreaming?"
"I must be dreaming."
"...I actually get to eat at Veridian Heights tonight."
"I'm definitely going to dress up beautifully tonight. I've seen pictures of Veridian Heights online - it's absolutely magnificent. Walking in there is like being a princess in a palace... I'm so excited. Thank you Dr. Davis for inviting us."
Ava replied to a few messages then quietly put away her phone, because there were too many messages, too many questions - she couldn't possibly respond to them all, couldn't even keep up with reading them.
This was destined to be a high-profile birthday.
Ava went home to change clothes. After all, it was a birthday party, and as the guest of honor, she naturally needed to dress up nicely.
But just as she reached the door, she was startled by a large group of people standing outside.
Ava looked at these trendy-dressed people and walked closer with a puzzled expression. "Who are you?"
They turned to look at Ava. A blonde man asked politely, "Are you Ms. Davis?"
Ava nodded. "I am."
"We're the styling team Mr. Thomas arranged for you. I'm stylist Dash." The blonde man smiled while sizing her up. "Ms. Davis, you're indeed very beautiful. I believe after we work on you, you'll be even more stunning."
Dash, a world-class top stylist. It was said that his hands could transform people into top beauties, and his makeup skills were comparable to a face swap.
Ava looked back at Samuel in surprise.
Samuel immediately sensed Ava's confusion and quickly stepped forward. "Ms. Davis, Mr. Thomas arranged all this."
Ava frowned. "What exactly is he trying to do?"
It was just a small birthday. Ava, who preferred to keep things simple, had never planned to go so far as to hire stylists. She was just thinking of doing her own makeup and changing into a dress.
But now...
Since Joshua had already brought these people to her door, she could hardly send this whole group away.
Ava took out her key to open the door. Suddenly.
A water balloon-like object flew past Ava's cheek. Ava barely dodged it, but stylist Dash standing behind her wasn't so lucky.
The water balloon hit his exaggerated black-framed glasses directly, instantly bursting into a splash of water.
Ava covered her mouth in surprise, looking at Finn and Cleo inside. They were wearing toy bulletproof vests, black helmets, and black glasses, each holding a black toy water gun, with a bunch of robot dogs arranged in front of them - looking like they were about to go to war.
"Finn, Cleo, what are you two doing?"
Seeing it was Ava, and then looking at the strangely dressed people behind her, Finn and Cleo immediately rescued Ava from their clutches.
"Mommy, come here quick! There are bad people outside."
The moment Ava was pulled inside.
The door slammed shut.
