Chapter 19 The Flowers
Miley sniffed against her father's shirt, and started hiccuping.
"I'm okay, I'm okay" Teddy rubbed her back in an attempt to sooth her.
Miley broke the hug, and glared at him. "You only had to wait until Friday. That's what you said but you had to make me see you far sooner than that because you can't take care of yourself" She snapped at him.
Teddy pouted his lower lip" I'm sorry, bug "He apologized" I promise to look after myself from now on" He said, and Miley scoffed.
Lily immediately walked into the ward, and paused when she realized that there were other people in the ward. She was holding a Tupperware in her left and a box try with two cups of coffees.
Her long curls were done into a neat puffy ponytail, and she was wearing a navy blue suit, and matching stilettos. She had clearly left her law firm directly to the hospital after finding out about her husband getting shot.
Her gaze turned to her daughter, and she frowned. " What are you wearing?" She asked, and walked to the bed.
Miley who was still sniffling looked down at her outfit. She was still wearing the clothes she wore in the morning. At the moment she got the call about her father getting shot from her mom, she didn't care about what she was wearing.
All that mattered was getting to the hospital, and thank goodness her father wasn't seriously hurt.
"Come on love. I don't thing that she looks bad" He defended her, and Lily scoffed.
She sat the Tupperware, and coffee on the bed then handed Teddy a cup before taking one herself.
"I don't think so. She looks like she came to sell her at the hospital instead of coming to see her father" Lily shrugged which made Miley who now felt a lot better to scoff.
Miley was about to say something when the door ward door was kicked open that it Startled Catherine who was standing quietly by the door.
"I'm here! I'm here" Mavis barged into the ward. He was dressed in black cargo pants, an sky blue over-sized tee with a black leather jacket, white sneakers, and a black face cap pulled over his blue bleached hair.
His eyes darted around the private ward, and locked on Catherine who was scowled at him.
His expression changed immediately, and he smirked. He walked towards Catherine "Well, hello gorgeous. If I knew that I would see you in such an unexpected setting then I would have had my father shot a long time ago. How have you been?"
"I dare you to close the gap, and I'll show you why boys used to avoid me back in high school" Mavis paused immediately in his track, and backed away with his hands raised in the air, the smirk still plastered on his face.
His gaze moved to his family that were watching him, and gasped dramatically at his dad. He rushed towards the bed, and shoved Miley to the side which made her stumble.
"Hey!!" Miley smacked him on the arm, but he didn't pay attention to her.
"Dad!!" He placed his head on the bed, and started fake crying. "Oh, my God dad. You're alive. I thought you were dead. I thought I wasn't gonna get the that PS that you promised me. I was scared that you were gonna die without transferring your money to my back account. I started crying in class that people started staring. Dad please don't die okay? You see dad, I care about your mon.... I..i mean you " He wiped invisible tears from his face.
" You're my role model. My hero, my ban... I'm my provi... I mean... "Miley smacked his on the arm, he glared at her but she nodded her head towards their mother who was glaring daggers at him.
He immediately shut his mouth, and backed up" You know what? I just saw this hot nurse in the corridor. I'm gonna... "He didn't finish his words and rushed out the door.
They all watched the door close and they all shook they're heads.
" I starting to doubt if that boy is really my son "Teddy sighed and took a sip of his coffee.
" He must have gotten it from his uncle. That boy just didn't know when to be serious "Lily muttered and opened the Tupperware before dropping it on Teddy's lap along with a fork.
Aleksei took a gulp of his whiskey, and sighed. He looked out the floor to ceiling window from his mini bar and glanced at his phone. He clenched his jaw in irritation, and poured himself another glass.
Suddenly, his phone rang, and he immediately grabbed it then answered the call.
"Boss, the task was completed at you instructed. Teddy Blackwell will get the message soon" Travis spoke, and Aleksei smirked before hanging up.
He dropped his phone on the counter, and filled his glass to the brim, before gulping everything down.
He was so excited to see what his retaliation would be. He now knew that messing with Blackwell was a no different from suicide but he wasn't afraid of death.
But, then again there was still that tiny part that hoped that he would just back off.
Teddy sighed for the umpteenth time, his eyes on the ceiling as he felt as bored as hell.
His family had left about an hour ago leaving him to his thoughts which he were not ready to confront.
At this moment all he wanted was to give Aleksei a surprise visit cause the balls on the boy were like nothing he'd ever seen. He obviously knew who he was but he still dares mess with him.
But, surprisingly he wasn't angry, in fact he was amused, and was excited to see what the boy had in store for him. However, the fact that he was enjoying the threats didn't mean that he wasn't planning on letting him of easily. He was gonna bring him to justice even if it meant using illegal means.
His mind flashed to someone he hasn't thought about in his many years. He couldn't help but smile.
They were so similar in that expect to Aleksei. Suddenly there was a knock at the door before a middle aged male nurse walked in with a large backett of lilies and tulaps.
"You have a delivery" He said before dropping the flowers on the bedside table, before walking out.
He was raised a brow. Who would have sent sent these flowers? It couldn't have possibly his family they avoided flowers since his wife was allergic to pollen and Karen already sent a note with sushi as a form of gift.
He reached for the flowers, and placed them on his lap before pulling out the note that was in the center of the letter. He opened it, and smirked at what he saw.
