Chapter 13 Irritated
Miley's face threatened to turn into a scowl, but she composed herself, and forced a smile that she prayed it didn't look ugly.
"I don't believe that there is anything for us to speak about.... I.. I mean you, and I have never met before, and I believe that it would be inappropriate for us to talk about anything else that isn't academic related"She said in the most sweetest voice possible.
Aleksei's mask cracked for a brief moment, before putting it back on. " I understand what you mean, however I was thinking that since you, and I will be seeing each other quite often, It would be a good idea for us to get to know one another" He said.
The corner of her lips twitched, and she fought the urge to roll her eyes.
God, she has never felt so irritated, and so uncomfortable in all of her life. Could he just go!! She feared that if she stayed here talking to him for one more minute she might say something that she may, or may never regret.
The sound of her phone ringing literally made her sighed in relief, and she immediately covered her mouth with her palm. She smiled stiffly, before muttering an apology but some stupid part of her still had the audacity to roll her eyes.
She turned, and walked away without even saying goodbye, before answering her phone.
Aleksei's eyes turned cold as he watched her walk away while chatting with someone who even made her giggle over the phone.
"I promise!" She disappeared around the corner.
The kindness that she had shown him the other day was gone. But he couldn't figure out why. Is it because he had scared her off the first time they met, but that's impossible... considering the fact that she doesn't seem to recognize him.
He clenched his jaw, and his knuckles cracked as he rolled his hands into fists.
"It may seem that it is going to be a lot harder than I thought" He muttered to himself before turning back to the office.
The moment he sat down he placed his feet on the desk making Dean Hastings to groan.
"Get those ugly feet of my desk, before I break them" He glared at him, and Aleksei smirked.
"We haven't talked in five years, I thought you'd be happy to see me" He said while removing his feet off the desk.
The Dean pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose, and leaned back on his swivel chair making it turn slightly " Keep dreaming, boy. The only reason why I've kept you around is because of the help you were when I started this place, but you are, and always will be a menace" He said, and looked back at him laptop.
Aleksei smirked" I suppose that's one of the reasons I haven't buried you for speaking to me how ever you like. It's always fun to torment the living than the dead"He said, and grabbed a handful off candies from the small glass bowl ontop of the desk before unwrapping one then popped it into his mouth
He crossed his legs, and sighed" But, I gotta say I missed seeing your forever scowling face, even though I'm the only one who knows that expression. I guess you'll be scowling a lot from now on since you'll be seeing me around the institute quite alot"He said before striding towards the door.
"Don't ruin her like you do to all your other toys" Aleksei halt and turned to a serious, and threatening expression on Hastings face. "She's too innocent for your world. That girl is talented, and has a bright future ahead of her. If you end up destroying her, you'll regret it for the rest of your life. She has someone you don't wanna to fuck with protecting her, and that person will ruin you ten times more then you will with her" He said which made Aleksei short of words for a good five minutes before he finally spoke.
"Then I guess this protecter, and I will become well acquainted very soon" He smirked, before walking out of the office with such grace, but all Hastings could see was a naive boy who just didn't understand what he was dealing with.
Miley slumped down on the seat next to Catherine in the minibus, her best friend gave her a ' what happened?' expression.
"I met this dude who was at the office with the Dean, and he just pissed me off from the first moment I layed my eyes on him" She threw her hands in the air, and fixed the her bag on her lap.
Catherine cracked" That's rare. The last time you couldn't stand someone they fell off the stairs, and spent weeks in the hospital with a serious head injury "She smirked and handed a chocolate bar to Miley.
" Still, I'm gonna say it again I didn't push her down any stairs the bitch fell on her own, but that's besides the point. The point is he just gave off weird vibes. You know like that feeling when you meet a stranger in an alley way in the dead of night, and you can feel the danger rolling of him in waves. Only he's a pretender, like the male version of a Chinese green tea bitch"She unwrapped the chocolate, and took a bite.
"You always end up talking too much when you're pissed, you know" Catherine grinned at her friend.
Miley pouted"I know, but I'm just... I'm just.... "She sighed, before leaning back on the seat." Nevermind about me. So, have you talked to your brother yet? "She asked, and Catherine's earlier grinned turned into a scowl.
" Next question! "She half snapped, at an already irritated Miley.
" Do you plan on hating the only family you have forever? "She asked, which made Catherine groaned.
" Yes I did talk to him.... Well, it was more of him trying to speak to me and me snapped at him to
stay away " She huffed, before rolling her eyes.
Miley pinched the bridge of her nose already feeling the lady of her strength slipping away. Now, she wished someone would just postpone the tour so she could crawl back under her covers, and recharge.
