Chapter 14: The Depths of the Bond

Chapter 14: The Depths of the Bond
Damian’s touch was a brand that seared into her very soul. Every inch of him pressed against her flooded her with a heat and hunger so profound, it stripped her of everything she thought she knew about herself. She wasn’t the same girl who had stumbled into his world. That girl had been half-asleep, blind to the shadowed truths and blood-bound mysteries curled inside her.

But now she was awakening and it was him, his voice and touch. The power coiled within him like a predator waiting to pounce that shook loose something buried deep in her bones.

The walls of the secluded room felt far away, blurred by the storm building inside her. The only thing real was Damian, the Alpha. His silver eyes burned with something wild and ancient, something not meant for human hearts to witness and yet she saw it, felt it, and it called to her.

His breath was ragged, his hands splayed against her hips as though trying to ground himself, perhaps to stop himself from crossing the line he knew once crossed, could never be undone.

"You feel it, don’t you?” His voice was hoarse, low, reverent.

She couldn’t answer right away. Her body was trembling, overwhelmed by sensations that made no sense. Her skin burned, her senses sharpened, and something primal pulsed in her blood. His presence was inside her chest, her breath. His name was thunder under her skin.

"The bond," he growled, his mouth brushing against her jaw. “Tell me you feel it.”

Isla gasped, clinging to him. The word burned in her throat before she even thought to say it.

“Yes,” she whispered. “I feel it.”

His hands tightened, and his entire body shuddered against hers. That single word, that trembling admission, shattered the last of his restraint.

“You don’t understand what this is,” he said, pressing his forehead to hers, every breath a battle. “You were never meant to be apart from this world. They kept it from you, why, I still don’t know. But it’s in you, Isla. It always has been.”

She blinked, trying to make sense of his words, but his voice had already begun to wrap around her like smoke.

“I’ll take you,” he continued, his voice thick with warning and desire. “I’ll mark you in ways you can’t even imagine. And once I do… you won’t be able to walk away. You’ll be mine. My mate. My equal. My everything.”

Her heart pounded at the word mate. It stirred something in her gut, some deep and ancient recognition that defied logic. “I don’t need to understand,” she whispered. “I just need to feel you.”

Damian made a strangled sound. Then his lips crashed into hers, desperate, claiming, trembling with intensity. She moaned into the kiss, her body arching, molding to him like she belonged nowhere else. His hands slid under her thighs, lifting her as though she weighed nothing, pressing her back against the wall, her legs wrapped around his hips.
Every touch, every press of his body to hers, was a promise and a warning.

She felt it, the magic between them, the ancestral pulse of wolves and moonlight that hummed beneath her skin, brought to life by his touch. She couldn’t run from it anymore. She didn’t want to.

“You were never just human,” he murmured between kisses. “You’ve always belonged to something more.”

His hands trailed fire over her skin, baring her inch by inch. She was trembling, but not from fear. From need. From the sacred ache that bloomed in her chest when she looked into his eyes.

“Tell me,” he growled, “Tell me you choose this. That you choose me.”

There was silence, thick with tension, with fate. Then Isla, breathless and flushed, eyes wide with something more than lust, something like belief, whispered:
“I choose you, Damian.”

That was all it took. The storm inside him finally broke. He devoured her, kissed her like she was the last breath he’d ever take. Their bodies moved in wild rhythm, a dance older than language, filled with heat and reverence and the devastating weight of destiny.

She felt him everywhere, his hands, his mouth, the rough drag of his stubble against her sensitive skin. Her world tilted, and she surrendered, gave herself over completely, unafraid of what came next and then, just as the pleasure reached a fever pitch, as she gasped his name, lost in everything he was…
His body went still for a heartbeat, then a growl rolled through him, a sound low, dark, and primal. Isla’s eyes opened in a haze just as Damian’s mouth lowered to the crook of her neck. His voice was raw, trembling with hunger.

“You’re mine now.”

He bit. His fangs sank into her flesh, precise and deep, igniting every nerve in her body like lightning. Pain and ecstasy collided in a breathtaking explosion. Her cry was caught between a gasp and a moan as heat surged from the bite and through her entire body, sealing something inside her that had always been waiting.

The mark blazed between them, an unbreakable bond forged by flesh, blood, and the sacred legacy of the wolf. Her soul roared in recognition, in surrender, in belonging.

Damian’s teeth withdrew slowly, and he licked the wound with a reverence that undid her. His arms wrapped tighter around her, holding her like she was the only thing keeping him anchored to this world.

She could feel the change, not just in her body, but in the very core of her being. Clearly something had awakened. Something she could never turn away from again and neither could he.
