Desirable Woman

"Just finished your PhD in America?" Bella thought, for some reason the figure of Ricky, whom she met this afternoon, appeared in her head. Hasn't Ricky, Papa's friend's son also just returned from America?

Bella was silent for a moment, trying to connect something that felt very odd. It was true that he didn't know anything about the personal life of his lover, whom he had been dating for two years.

"Honey, your name is Randy Joseph Martin, right?"

"Yeah, why? Don't tell me you forgot your girlfriend's name?"

"Mom...no, that's not it...um...your brother's name is Ricky, right?"

"Yeah, how did you know?" Randy asked. Bella was a little surprised, no wonder she felt familiar when she saw Ricky's face. It turns out, Ricky and Randy are brothers.

"Earlier your brother came to the house, it seems like your father and my father are close friends."

"You're serious ?" yeah, Randy doesn't even know anything. I don't know if it's because of his indifferent nature or because he doesn't feel very close to his father, so he doesn't know that their parents are friends.

"Your father's name is Erick Martin, right?"

"Yes that's right..."

"In the past, your father and your brother had come to the house several times. The last time I met your brother, it seemed like it had been a long time, maybe around 10 years ago. I heard earlier that they had a business partnership."

"Is that so? I really just found out, want to meet?"

"Aren't you still with your family?"

"I'll pick you up at 10 o'clock?"

"No need, I'll go to the club myself later. Let's meet there, okay?"

Seeing her youngest son who felt increasingly distant made Mrs Herliana sad. Even though he already knew, the older a child gets, the more they will eventually be separated from their parents too.

"Mama doesn't understand why your little brother never feels at home."

"Hasn't he been like that for a long time? It's as if Mama just found out what Mama's son is like." Mr. Martin, who already felt that Randy's attitude was nothing new to him, tried to be neutral. Because when he was young, his attitude was not much different from his youngest son.

Ricky took a breath, because he himself had tried to advise his younger brother not to act out of line. No matter what, he still has parents whose honor he must protect.

"So, how was the meeting with Hermawan?"

"Go smoothly, if you have business matters, Papa will leave everything to Ricky."

"If it's a problem other than business, what about?" Mrs. Herliana smiled, trying to code her husband about "other things" outside of business. Ricky, who already had a feeling, could only smile remembering the sweet incident he experienced today.

"What if you ask the person directly?" Mr Martin threw it at Ricky who was embarrassed again. This sweet and shy attitude, doesn't it look very adorable?

"How's it going, Dad?"

"Don't act stupid, tell your mother about Bella!"

"So, have you met?"

"That's it Mom"

"How is it? Isn't the person beautiful?"

"Yes...very beautiful" he answered shyly. Ricky didn't know why he could be so innocent just talking about a woman.

"What are you waiting for ?"

"But... maybe Bella already has a boyfriend."

"How do you know ?"

"Yes, Ricky doesn't know. But, a lot of women as beautiful as Bella would like Bella, right? Maybe Ricky won't have the chance..."

"Who's to say? Papa and Mama's child is not great, especially compared to the men who might approach Bella? You are handsome, have a high education. You have everything that many women want, Papa is sure that no woman will dare to reject you."

"Ricky doesn't feel that great, Dad."

"You are Papa's daughter, there are lots of women out there queuing to get you. As long as Bella hasn't become someone's wife, you still have a chance to get his heart. Papa, right, Ma?

"In Mama's opinion, the most important thing in a woman is not her physical beauty, but her heart. Mama wants you to get a good wife, a wife who can respect your family, who can take care of you and most importantly, love you for who you are. Not because what you have, but what have you done for him," explained the mother. Ricky already suspected that his mother's hope was that Ricky could be side by side with a woman who was worthy of him.

Mr. Martin wasn't sure whether Bella would fit into the criteria for his wife's ideal daughter-in-law, considering Bella's impolite attitude today.

"In Papa's opinion, as long as you are happy, that's enough. We can't force someone to be perfect just because we want them to be. So, whatever your choice, Papa will support you."

"Thank you, Dad..." Ricky sighed slowly, thinking back about his feelings. Ricky didn't really know the woman. So far, they had only met four times and of course that wasn't enough to get to know someone. But one thing Ricky has always been sure of is that Bella is a good girl.
