Unexpected Surprise

The atmosphere at dinner felt very awkward, maybe Bella was the only one who looked calm while enjoying her dinner. Meanwhile, her stepmother, Diana and her two sisters med very careful, afraid of making a mistake in front of this very fierce old grandma.

"You guys don't seem to like me in this house?" Finally the terrible sentence they had been warning about came out of this old woman's mouth.

"What are you talking about, Mom? Who wouldn't like you to come?" Asked Mr Andersen, he did not understand the thinking of the mother who never liked her daughter-in-law and grandchildren.

"You look at your wife's face, what do you mean by looking down? Or not even saying hello to me!" She said sarcastically, even though Miranda and her children had often heard harsh sentences like that from her, it was still painful to hear.

"I'm glad you're home, mom. If I knew you were coming home today, I would have cooked your favorite roast chicken."

"Mom, never mind, I just had an opportunity, please don't make a fuss. We can have dinner in peace and discuss other matters, okay?"

If we had known you were coming home today, we would have prepared grandma's favorite orchids and mom would also make your favorite roast chicken." Lily and Stephanie didn't dare to speak, they knew the more they defended themselves. In Grandma's eyes, their efforts to win her heart would be the same, ending in bad accusations like before.

Madam Jannet who felt cornered, began to use her main weapon, namely feeling as if she was considered a burden and was always blamed.

"Mom, what Diana said is true. If we had known that you was coming home today, we would definitely have prepared a more special dinner to welcome your arrival."
