CHAPTER FIFTY: HIDDEN SECRET III
\-BELLA-
It happened a day after the commercial; Catherine had walked up to me, her eyes furrowed upwards like she had caught her husband cheating.
"Miss Bella, there's a man waiting for you at the door. He says he's here for important business." She had said.
I could recall that the only man I had invited home was Jamie for the commercial, and he had a busy schedule at work, so he was unable to show up.
Anxious, I put on my red gown, my bunny slippers making funny noises as I ran down the stairs. Catherine had followed behind, but she cared less about hearing whatever I had to say, so she had headed straight for the kitchen.
I yanked the door open, my jaw almost dropping from the aura he possessed, stunning as always. We had broken up five years back because he had caught me sleeping with my manager for a modeling job. He still resented me for it, but I cared less.
"What a wonderful surprise!" I giggled.
"You can stop the act now; I know about your daring plot." He spoke up.
"Daring plot? What are you talking about?"
"Artemis. You're not going to have your way with her." He clasped his hands, his muscles contracting.
"My way? Seems you're still pissed over the last few years." I wore a smile.
"What happened between us five years ago was a mistake. My most miserable mistake that I keep regretting day in and day out."
I could feel my blood boiling as his words pierced my ears. Calling me a mistake was an exclusive insult, just like calling me a cheap slut.
"You made me leave Artemis. The one girl I felt was committed broke my strongholds like it was nothing." He spat.
"You felt vulnerable next to her; you had to leave her, and I came through. A thank you would be appreciated."
"I regret ever slipping between those legs of yours."
He had this impulsive impression, the impression I got whenever I stared at Artemis. The cold-blooded stare I shoved Artemis at the dining table at dinner.
"I have a lot of things to do. You're the least of my problems at the moment." I grabbed the doorknob, ready to leave.
"Jackson isn't killing Artemis with a sniper." He yelled. "I'm not letting anyone hurt Artemis till I'm six feet below."
"Goodbye, Jarvis." I closed the door, wiping the sweat that had built up on my forehead.
I hadn't told anyone about killing Artemis except Jackson. There was no one in the bar except the man who sat behind us with beads in his ears.
"Was that him?" I gasped.
I figured that if Jarvis knew, he would fight for Artemis. I would be known as the beast, and the Mercedes would kick me out, leaving Artemis as the heiress.
There was no way I was going to let that happen, not when I had my whole career waiting on it and a sniper ready to rile up Artemis to her grave. Death was paramount.
I gazed around, hoping Catherine hadn't been eavesdropping, and just as I expected, she was there, staring at me.
"What are you looking at?" I yelled.
"You can't win this battle, Lady Bella. She's here to stay; you're probably going to be riled up in a casket if you continue on this path." She responded.
I had walked up to her, slapping her hard on the face. She didn't flinch, her hands holding onto the ceramic tray. "I have a journal where I write everything that goes on in my life. I'm not afraid of you."
I staggered backwards, her words like a massive blow in my face. She wasn't scared of dying; her evidence all pointed at me and had been kept in a secret spot in her room. She would be a tough nut to crack.
"I don't have to kill you; your life will become hell, and I will trample on you till you swallow hard on those words.
I didn't leave home that day, thinking of the various ways I could end Jarvis. He wasn't going to shut up, and he walked in a pattern that was hard to track. I knew that because when we broke up, I had ordered numerous men to keep tabs on him, but they all lost him in two various alleys.
My face had burned red as I couldn't think of any way to counter him that didn't include ending his life. He didn't leave any holes covered like a criminal, which made it hard to ascertain when he would strike or when he would walk into any set trap.
He was invisible.
Doctor Herald had called at that moment, and I had jumped in triumph. I knew he would have a solution to my problem. He was a serial killer, known for harvesting organs out of Hyperion to make bundles.
"I have a problem, doctor."
"Do you want the person missing FOREVER?" He asked, his voice deep.
"Yes."
"Can I harvest his organs, or do you just want a clean cut?"
"Anyhow, just make sure he's dead before tomorrow." I said, my voice cutting at intervals.
"You'll hear from me before 12 midnight." He chuckled before terminating the call.
Even though I had felt a bit relieved, I couldn't help the fact that I would be ending one of my ex-lover's lives.
After my beauty sleep, my phone rang, notifications popping in. Pictures and videos of Jarvis being tortured to death on my screen.
I couldn't believe it, so I called Jarvis's number. Doctor Herald answered, informing me of a successful mission.
… Delilah's eyes were bloodshot, her hands dripping with blood, and my face a moisture of red and yellow. She has smashed her fist several times till I could barely breathe no more.
"I didn't want to lose to Artemis; I couldn't at that point." I cried.
"It's alright."
I was surprising that she would let me go Scott free. Maybe she was just like Artemis.
"I'll just have to torture you like how you did to my brother."
