DIMITRI VALEQUEZ

I groaned, stirring on the bed. My bright green eyes pulled open, falling on the beautiful figure of my mate, curled up so perfectly in my arms. I sighed in contentment, resting my head next to hers. Last night was the best night of my life. I couldn't possibly begin to describe the ecstasy that drowned me while making love to my mate. It was the best feeling ever. She was the most beautiful woman ever.

I leaned closer to her, placing a small kiss on her shoulder. Adriana shifted gently on the bed, releasing a small moan. Her blue eyes pulled open and then they fell on me.

“Morning,” I whispered, leaning to kiss her. “How was your night?”

“The best,” She snuggled deeper into my arms. “It still feels like a dream,”

“It's not love. Everything's real and I'm so happy to have you in my arms,” I pecked her lips again. “Thank you for saving the pack,”

She smiled, kissing me back. “I'm glad I could help save lives. I just wished I could do the same for Zoey. Even with my magic, I couldn't cure her,”

I pulled her tight against my chest. I understood exactly what she meant. Natural sickness wasn't something a witch's magic could cure. But I was doing everything to help Zoey. Her sister was fifteen but she had been suffering from the age of nine after the deaths of Adriana's adopted parents. I wanted to see the girl better, if anything to thank her parents for taking in Adriana.

“She'll be fine,” I said. “The doctors have a date for her surgery already. It's in a week, a day after the blood moon rising. And soon, we'll have her here with us,”

Adriana's eyes locked with mine. “The blood moon is in a few days?”

I nodded. Even though I hated thinking about it, it was true. The fate of my pack and I would be decided in a few days. If we were unable to break Asula's curse then we'd perish before we got the chance to destroy Nikola Vladimir.

“We'll break the curse, Dimitri. Nothing's going to happen to you or my sister. Nothing,” Adriana got up from the bed, searching for her phone. “I should call her. I didn't go visit her yesterday like I said I would, she must be worried,”

“Don’t worry. I called her when you were unconscious. She knows you're fine, and we'll be coming today to see her,” I came up behind my mate, wrapping my arms around her.

She turned in my arms, facing me. “Thank you, Dimitri, for finding me,” Adriana's soft lips pressed against mine, kissing me. I kissed her back. There was no way I could ever get enough of her.

After showering, we headed to the witches' quarters and found Agatha, Gwen, and a few witches in the spellroom.

“I'm glad to see you're up and already okay,” Agatha smiled.

“And I heard it's all thanks to you and the witches. I'm really grateful,”

“Nonsense. You don't have to thank us. We always protect our own. And aside from being the Alpha's mate, Esther was like a sister to every one of us, and she helped us in one way or the other,” Agatha voiced.

“You knew my mother?”

The witch nodded. “A few of us here did. She was a great friend,”

“I'm glad to hear that. I know about the curse on the wolves, and as my mother did, I want to help in every way I can,” Adriana took her seat.

“Before the attack, Esther and I were working on a way to break the curse. And we discovered only a Blackrose witch could anchor the spell Esther created. She gave me half of it, but the other half was with her. As well as the only weapon that could kill the vampire king,”

I took a deep inhale at Agatha's words. Nikola Vladimir was an ancient vampire king and couldn't be killed easily. And with the help of his dark witches, he was now almost immortal. That was why Esther created a magical weapon powerful enough to kill him, but we had no idea where this weapon could be.

“Everything got destroyed after the attack. The only belongings I had of my mother was the family Grimore. I don't have any idea where she could have hidden the last part of the spell and this weapon, but I know some people who might,” Adriana spoke di confidently leaning on the oaken table. “The Nhermis Coven,”

“What?” I said in shock, glancing at Agatha who was also in shock.

Agatha stepped closer. “The ancient Nhermis Coven? But they are extinct,”

Adriana shook her head. “Only a few people know about it, but they still exist. My mother was in direct contact with them. She had friends there and she trusted them. If she really wanted to keep something safe, leaving it with them would be the best choice,”

“Do you know where we can find them?” I asked.

“I don't, they are always on the move,” Adriana was up pacing. “But there's a spell in my mother's Grimoire, it'll help locate the Nhermis Coven. And we'll be able to get the last part of the spell, and the only weapon that could end Nikola permanently,” Adriana muttered.
